In mitigation for Barry Island Pleasure Park I did visit in November and none of the rides were operating. It was cold 🥶 and it was raining 🌧 but this type of entertainment may gave been acceptable back in the sixties, it's very dated and needs a good kick into the present these days. The usual 'kiss me quick', 'oo-er, missus, sounds a bit rude' 'end of the pier' stuff. Rock rots one's teeth, candy floss, toffee apples, are bygone treats. Bring on the carrot 🥕 on a stick, bring on the healthy snackages more appropriate for the youth of today.

Fabulous little war museum situated in the railway station.
All run by volunteers who should be commended for their commitment.

A lovely spacious park, ideal to let the little ones run around. They could do with improving the children's play area. There is a lovely cafe that has recently opened, and it is a wonderful place for a quick snack and a tea 🍵 or coffee ☕️ on the go. The cafe is very inexpensive and the food and drinks are fresh. They open around 9.30 am and close, depending on the weather, at around 5 pm. The gentleman that served us today is a real gentleman, known to many locals as Mr P or Pykie. I’ve always found Cold Knap Beach to be one of those places that feels different every time you visit. The first thing you notice is that it isn’t your typical sandy beach, it’s all pebbles, and when the waves roll in, they make this soothing clattering sound that you can’t quite hear anywhere else. Lovely place to visit, the weather was great on the day and we all enjoyed it. We were able to walk to Watch Tower Bay and back through Knap Gardens before the tide came in. It was a lovely place to have a picnic and take pictures, the Pebble Beach on the other side of the walkway was just fantastic and the scenery quite exquisite.
I wish I could have experienced sunset, I can only imagine how beautiful it would look. There's always a next time I guess, one thing I remember noticing was the air.was so crisp and clean and it was really relaxing and refreshing. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area, it is well worth the time.
Parking might be a bit of an issue but we got there a bit early and were able to park quite close. Don't be put off though as there are still some side roads within walking distance that have no parking restrictions.

Fantastic! Really beautiful beach. Golden sand and very clean. It was our first time visiting and we were impressed with the beauty of this beach. They have accessible path for wheelchair or buggy. So, we can get to the beach even with our pram. They also provide beach toys for kids to play, which were a great help for us when we forgot to bring ours.
The attractions along the coast line are great too. They have mini golf, amusement park, arcade etc. We definitely feel this place is for everyone of all age.

Both my boys loved the high ropes. Our instructor (Jet) was fantastic. He knew exactly how to support and encourage his group and added to the fun of the experience. My youngest was able to be really brave and tried every activity; we'll remind him of what he achieved today next time he's scared of something. Excellent value for a fantastic experience.

My 11 year old and her friend had the BEST time at the high ropes. The group size was really small so they had loads of time and assistance from the instructor who was lovely. He encouraged them to push themselves but with a relaxed and friendly vibe. The course itself was a great mixture of different climbing activities and had a wide range of difficulty levels. We ended up staying to play the crazy golf and had a great day. All the staff were really friendly.

My son thoroughly enjoyed his time on the high ropes today. Well organised and set up. Both members of staff on the high ropes were lovely, polite, kind and helpful not just to us but other visitors. We had a fantastic time at Vivary Park Adventure Centre. Despite arriving late due to traffic, the team were welcoming and unflustered. The safety briefing was thorough and reassuring. The course struck the right balance—challenging but not too much—and we all left smiling (and a bit sore!). A special shout-out to Maggie, our instructor: light-hearted and funny, yet calmly supportive and just firm enough to nudge us past our nerves. She was especially great with my daughter when she wobbled on one of the 9 m high ropes. Warm, friendly, and accommodating for different skill levels—highly recommended.
