The venue is great and if you go early enough, you can get good parking. But even if you can’t there’s free parking just down the block at the garage. There’s also drinks and food you can order. But be aware of the clear bag policy! We bought season tickets and were very excited to see new musicals every month. The first 2 plays we saw were awful! Suffs is very boring. And Juliet was roll my eyes at “not more woke plays”. Both plays made me wonder if this is where this whole season is heading, I sure hope not. Suffs was about the suffragette movement so I knew it would have feminist flavour to it but the entire storyline was so boring and the songs were dull. But I had great hopes for Juliet. It is a play within a play with Shakespeare’s wife having a hand in changing the ending of the tragic tale of the star crossed lovers. It pokes fun at some of the ridiculousness of how they fell in love and ended their lives in 4 days! But as soon as we were introduced to Juliet’s best friend, I knew this was going to go down as another woke play. No original songs, just pop songs woven together to try to make a story. Some parts were a tad humorous but only because the entire play was so cringe and cliche that you had to cling to some of the small bits of humour. We have several more shows to go to and I really hope it gets better from here.

For as long as we’ve been in Phoenix, this has been on our “list” so when we were looking for a quick hike on Christmas we decided to give it a try. Used to run to the top in the 90s and the skyline has changed dramatically since then. Some of the steps are pretty steep however there is often a walk around for those. There's a large free parking lot with accessible spots. Outside, they have some old mining equipment and a fountain. Inside the museum, there's two stories of long stretching hallways- I'd allot 4-5 hours to soak it all in - so much to see! On the first floor, on the right by the gift shop- they have a room on old Arizona road. From there, they have a room on gems (so pretty) and mining and two glass-walled rooms on history in Arizona. In front, there are glass displays of historical Arizona figures, etc. On the second floor, they have a long winding hallways that takes you through UFO and the Phoenix Lights, historic moments in Arizona and wars in Arizona. What's really nice is it's not just ho-hum historical displays. They also have a lot of interpretive exhibits which go above and beyond. For example, they had a few model homes to resemble the era and one part of the exhibit even was themed to a city in the 1900s. Super cool. I knew I'd have a good time because I was with several friends. We got there and Bob, who works on various Fridays, took it upon himself, after we entered and looked around to take us on a personal tour. Bob was extremely well-educated regarding the history of firefighting and he gave us a delightful tour. Bob and the other men there were very cordial and knowledgeable. I would very highly recommend this to anybody who wants a unique experience and a walk through the past!!

Our room was Spellbound. Candice was our game master, and she did a great job (and was perfect with a certain jump scare hahahaha). With our booking we were able to add axe throwing if we wanted, so we did that too. Two of us had never done it before so it was a fun experience. I didn't catch the name of our instructor, but he was very informative and patient with us newbies. We each got a couple practice throws, then five tosses with either the large or smaller ax. As a cheap add-on to the room, it was quite fun!! I would highly recommend this place! You need an appointment, which is easy to make. After we left, we were very tempted to see if we could just do the other room as walk-ins because it was so fun.
