The staff was so nice, and helpful, and greeted us on the way and explained all the ins and outs of where to go and what to do. There was just so many things to entertain the kids, it was also very educational, hands-on, just a bunch of happy and smiling faces. The plantation was super well kept, it was lovely being able to see all the antiques. There was a cute little gift shop with some shirts and earrings, no paper maps but there was a map to take a picture of! The butterfly garden was nice. The lawn was mowed, and there was plenty of birds chirping around. I enjoyed my walk and I was able to see a variety when I was out there: cardinals, kiskadees, flycatchers, etc. The only thing that wasn’t the greatest was how overgrown some areas of the trails were, and the deck/bird blind definitely had a little wasp problem. Theres a lot of creepy crawlies, so just dress appropriately and be cautious. Overall, a good place to visit at least once!

I put 1 map back at that time really not thinking nothing of it until my wife and sister in law mentioned outside "we only have 3 maps for a group of 7" as we were going to the next location. And that point I decided to finish the next location quickly which was interesting but felt less "fun" due to the interaction. Upon exiting the location I entered the gift shop area and gave him the 2 remaining maps and told him " I got your maps" to which he replied "Ohh ok thank you i didnt mean to jump on you like that". I then replied "Well 3 maps is not considered quite a few but here." The older gentleman apologized and so did the other younger staff member. Would have rated higher had that not ruined it for me. We visited the other muesums he suggested and both were awesome no issues.

Definitely not a Joe N his Ho's event. American flags and folks who love America were plentiful. $20.00 a person with no military discount was kinda steep but once the show begins it's certainly worth every cent. It was my better half first airshow. I'm retired Army. Not my first rodeo. I highly recommend this smaller show. If you attend, make sure to bring chairs, umbrella, sunscreen and water. They sell water, beer and food but it's anything but cheap. We will add this show to our annual event checklist.. Plotted. Scouts Out.

This location is primarily trainer aircraft from the WWII era. The planes are operable and fly regularly- you can tell from the smell of AV gas!! If you read the older reviews you'll notice the museum was closed for a length of time. In short, Brownsville Airport forced them to move out. They have since relocated to Port Isabel-Cameron County Airport.
