I can't remember the gifts for the male teacher. A very warm feeling of McCallums! I shopped there quite often as I grew thru life. I eventually moved to California. When I returned to visit Northampton, McCallums was now Thornes. I liked Thornes well enough ...was a great store. .but the part of where my memories were created was gone. It was the perfect date night! Great music, food, vibe, environment, and even the bathrooms were pristine. Every staff member was warm and friendly. The food was superb - we shared a hummus plate and side of shoestring fries. Every vegetable on the plate was fresh and delicious (even the arugula!). The hummus was flavorful, and the pita was the perfect blend of soft and chewy. I was surprised by the vegetarian offerings on their menu, and I'm looking forward to exploring more of them on our next outing there. I highly recommend this place for a night out!

If you love presidential sites (as I do), I will recommend visiting this one, but you will want to have more for your day as you can easily knock the museum out in just over an hour.
