This place was one of the best steakhouses I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many different restaurants around the country. During my trip to Florida, I dined here twice and every waiter and server was so kind. The food was excellent as well. For the seafood, I tried the bass which might be the best fish I’ve ever had. The meat was so soft and cut so smoothly, eating it was a delight. The shrimp was delicious as well. For the steaks, the smoke grill adds a unique, rich flavor that makes this place stand out. When I come back to Florida next year, I’ll make sure to dine again!

The wife and I really enjoyed our night out at Embers. The food was cooked to our requests. The taste and flavor of the food was wonderful and plate presentation was excellent. We noted my wife's birthday on the reservation and they gave her a nice Birthday treat. I got the Duck breast and she got a steak. We will make this her birthday dinner treat every year now. Atmosphere was okay. Alot of servers and other employees walking around constantly, no type of music playing just dead air and the drop ceiling should be replaced to fit the Embers design and Atmosphere. But don't let that deter you from visiting this place.

This is a fancy restaurant in Gainesville. Staffs are well-trained, very professional. Steaks are great. I had a grilled fish, but when I return next time, I'll go for the steak. The steak, my wife ordered, wad so good. She got the ribeye, and you never fail with that. I was happy that she said she wall full quite early, so I was able to finish the rest of it. I'm happy that she eats little portion of foods (just joking). Anyway, when you are in a steak-mood, come check this place out. It's worth it.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday there and we had a wonderful time. I got the blackberry martini, an appetizer of their margherita flatbread, an entree of duck, and crème brûlée for desert. Everything was delicious.
My partner got the stuffed chicken with the Mac and four cheeses. He got the chocolate torte for dessert. He said everything was perfect.

The food was amazing for the most part. I ordered the chicken expecting a fine dining experience type meal ie small artful delicious food my chicken breast was massive the flavor was good but the size of the breast made the meat tough and dry even though it was brined and stuffed with goat cheese. Other than that the experience was good except my first drink ordered they didn't shake the cream and there were curds in my drink. My suggestion is to move to a smaller breast size like a 7oz and actually hammer the meat stuff it then roll it to a more pleasing appearance and fine dineable size. Otherwise a good night even though our anniversary was missed by the server. Next time will definitely go to Mark's Prime instead

Great experience. At first no one came to our table for 6-7 minutes which was a bit annoying but then a waitress came and apologized for the wait and said she would serve us. She was very nice and attentive.
The atmosphere there is great and it is a lively restaurant. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. It is very clean in there.
While they are a bit on the pricier side, the food is good quality. The firecracker shrimp was really good and came with a huge portion. My boyfriend and I both got the pastas. I got the chicken one which we both agreed was better than the seafood one; the seafood one could use a bit more flavor. The plates also came with really good bread which was nice.
I would definitely recommend this place for a nice night out. They also have options that are not seafood.

Ballyhoo's is such a classic Gainesville spot! We went for a family dinner treat tonight and everything was 🤌 so delicious and the servers were all personable, patient and helpful. The decor is amusing and the atmosphere is fun. I like that you can see the chefs in the kitchen while you eat inside. I feel that it takes a restaurant that is confident in their stuff to show off the kitchen to the diners (if that makes sense.)
The only complaint I have (it's not really a complaint per se because the food is totally worth the price), the prices are high for our family. Our experience was so good tonight that I think we will go more often. FYI tonight I saw that kids eat free on Mondays so next time we will make it a Monday if we have the kids with us! Also I want to eat outside, tonight it was a bit too cold and rainy. Oh, just remembered, they have live music but was canceled due to weather, which was a disappointment. My gf and I finally stopped in yesterday to try Ballyhoo Grill. She's not much on seafood but her coworkers wanted to go. We didn't know they had happy hour so we instantly ordered 2 rounds of Bloody Mary's. $12 for a Bloody Mary on happy hour is not much of a deal if you ask me, but we didn't find that out until we received the check. First bloody came out very thin looking and was very watered down, second came out a little darker but still very watered down. The other cocktails we ordered were very much on the weak side as well. Drinks are not their strong point at all. We did get some appetizers and they were decent. In all my years ordering gator, I've never had it served with a BBQ sauce. The gator was good but a spicy ranch or even just cocktail sauce would have been better. I ordered a full rack of ribs and let me tell you, they were great!!! Fall off the bone and very flavorful. Their garlic mashed potatoes tasted perfect as well. My gf ordered a Greek salad and it's a pretty nice portion and presented very well. They decor is cool to check out, the service is great, the food is really good but the drinks need help. We definitely will be back, especially for those ribs!!!

The food is excellent every time. They may have the best breakfast in town and their burger is one of the best. The only negative aspect is when you want take out. For some reason when we order takeout something is always forgotten or made wrong, and I mean everytime. It was a last minute pick for crab legs. The ambulance was family oriented with both small and larger groups. The server was very nice and attentive. Food came out promptly and my eyes about bulged out of my head at the size of the portions for everyone's plates. I got a "medium" snow crab plate and is was a lot. My daughters 28 and 18 shared the lobster for 1. That was way more than expected. It was delicious though the lobster slightly overcooked but not horrible. Crab was great. Husband enjoyed his pasta. Nobody had a good attitude and the place was clearly uncleaned. I had a last minute location change for baby shower. I was in a panic. I called Monday hoping for a small miracle to host 15ppl on Wednesday.
Matt, took my call and said I got you covered. What a relief. I called on Tuesday- Quade took my call, l asked if I could give the order ahead of time and have it start cooking before we get there. He said absolutely. I asked if he needed a credit card and said no. I was shocked with the trust they had.
We arrived at lunch. Table set up, food came out perfectly and on time. We were in and out as we planned. I can't believe it. The baby shower was a success.
About the place...
Most make it a point to come here for "Live Events" because of the atmosphere. Wall to Wall giant TV's. Plenty of parking... but the food...mmm the food is what you remember. Omg. I had the Birria Style Quesadillas...freaking delicious, the juice you dunk the quesadillas in, is a mouth druel like Homer Simpson moment . I'm not kidding so good!

Went specifically for the gator. Unfortunately the place was quite overpriced for the quantity. We first received gator bites shown in the photo, and they wanted $15 for those few crumbs of gator. We then ordered gator burgers and although they tasted great, the quantity was very underwhelming and the patties were flat as paper. If I could do a -5, I would. The food is sometimes a hit or miss. I only broke open one crab didn't like it threw it away n then ate 2 shrimps and called for a refund so I could go somewhere else. The manager was nasty over the phone. I've been going there for years no complaints. Decided to take this seafood back cause it was not edible. I believed it to b someone's bag that never came to pick up because an item was missing that she claimed wasn't on the receipt then later claimed i didn't pay for it but i paid the full amount that was online. She made every excuse not to refund me. Saying I threw it away n never said that only what i pulled out the bag. Then she lied saying i order it more than 24 hrs ago she couldn't do anything cause she thought i had no receipt buhh i took a screen shot of the order anywho she counted what was left in the and replaced it. (So in the bag it comes with half pound shrimp 10 shrimps 1 potato, half pound crab 2 blue crabs 1 potato) She told me I could give it away since I wanted to go somewhere else cause they don't do refunds. I will not be going back there. I wish I had gotten the managers name on the shift. She has no hospitality skills. I know ppl do try and finesse I just wanted something edible since I was craving seafood and didn't want to make it. This experience has left this location with one less customer buhh I doubt they care lol.

I had a mixed experience during my recent visit. On the positive side, the service was absolutely excellent. Our server, Erica, was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. She handled a difficult situation with grace and did everything she could to make things right.
Unfortunately, the main issue was with the food — specifically the grouper steak. It was served completely raw. I brought it to their attention, and they kindly replaced it without hesitation. However, the second attempt was also undercooked, which was disappointing.
To their credit, Erica quickly involved the manager. They were very apologetic and offered to remove the fish from the bill, provided us with a complimentary dessert, and even a round of beer on the house. OMG what a wonderful restaurant. We stop in Gainesville and had the best dinners ever. Visiting from Houston, so this was my first time here. Excellent service, good food and just right for your pocketbook. There was a large variety to choose from. Our table ordered Fried, green tomatoes and Grouper fingers as appetizers. For our lunch, we ordered, Marinated Salmon salad, Andouille crusted grouper, Shrimp and scallop Orleans with red beans and rice, a cheeseburger and the Grouper platter. Delicious food with nice portion size at a good price. Had the calamari and the etouffee and it was delicious. Loved the fried green beans mixed into the calamari. Service was great and they were pretty visit when we visited as a result of a nearby festival. We visited Dragonfly Sushi during FEST and despite the restaurant being absolutely packed we were very impressed by the experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown Gainesville, this place has clearly earned its reputation among the competitive restaurant scene. We snagged seats at the bar, and even with the chaos of a busy music festival weekend the service was impressively fast and efficient. The staff never seemed flustered, and our orders came out quickly without sacrificing quality.
The food itself exceeded all expectations. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the gyoza were perfectly crispy with a flavorful filling. What really impressed us was that the kitchen maintained such excellent standards despite the restaurant being slammed. Too often, busy nights mean compromised quality, but Dragonfly proved they can handle the pressure. So this was stop #3 on my get-to-know Gainesville Breakfast spots tour, but it's going to be hard to try anywhere else after eating at Metro Diner. As soon as I walked in I was seated at a nice two-top and soon after that was greeted by Sam who was as friendly as she could be and one of the best waitstaff I've had the pleasure of interacting with. She got my order quickly, I had the Bissell Breakfast, which I highly, highly recommend, and I had coffee before I knew it which never got less than half full before she was topping me off. Breakfast came out within 8 - 10 minutes of ordering, if that, and everything was cooked perfectly. Eggs just like I requested, home fries nice and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, sausage perfectly cooked, biscuit that was like Grandma used to make, and two sizable pancakes also perfectly cooked. Coffee just right as well and nice and hot!!! I
I'll be back to Metro often, that I can promise, as the service was second-to-none, everyone I interacted with wished me a nice day, and all of the staff really seem to enjoy working there which is a sign, in my opinion, of a well run restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Ordered a crispy chicken tender salad. Was traveling and needed a quick bite to eat. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Salad was mixed greens, cucumber, grape tomatoes and some kinda wonton/tortilla fried croutons. It was nice nothing special however they were open early....which in Gainesville seems to be a rare thing. They didn't skimp on the dressings for the to-go order which was nice. My husband and I came into Metro today after a long 4 hr Dr. Appointment test and was unable to eat until after test. Place was pretty packed when we arrived ,lunch time. Sat right down in a booth, no wait. Server came over pretty quick and was super nice and helpful. I ordered Biscuits and gravy. This is the only restaurant that I like the gravy. My husband and got a ham and cheese Omelet and had asked for it to be pressed

I took my mother here while visiting her in Gainesville. She was hungry for a Steak and this place came up in our search.
We decided to give them a try and it was the best decision we made. She had the Prime Rib Steak and said it was one of the best steaks She's had in a long time. She's 94 years old and usually don't like anything 😀 this was a huge win!👌

The Tuna was seared perfectly, the Maui maui was grilled with a great sauce, the SLmon was also good, the Shrimp had a citrus chuck eye that gave it a spark. I especially loved the appetizers, particularly the raw oysters and the fish dip, they were fantastic. I recently visited Blue Gill in Gainesville and overall had a really nice experience. I started with the buffalo cauliflower appetizer, and let me just say , wow. Easily one of the best I've had. Though I wish it was more crispy, it was just the right amount of heat, and super flavorful. That was definitely a highlight for me.
For my main, I tried the steak special of the day, which came with a corn salad and pasta salad. My friend had a salmon dish with risotto and (I think) green beans. We both agreed that while the quality of everything was solid, some of the side pairings felt a bit mismatched. Maybe it's just my palate, but I wouldn't typically think to put those particular items together. It didn't quite flow the way you'd expect from a well-composed plate.
The food, in general, could've used a little more seasoning, not bad, just lacking that final punch of flavor that really elevates a dish. That said, everything was cooked well and beautifully presented. My steak was a perfect medium, and honestly, that and the cauliflower were my favorite parts of the meal.
I do wish I had gone for one of the burgers or fish tacos, they looked and sounded amazing. I was left wanting just a bit more overall, but the quality is there, and I'd love to come back and explore more of the menu, especially the appetizers.
I tried the coconut cream cake but sadly it did not taste like it. It tasted like fish and I think they had the cake next to it or close to it because it was infused in that taste. I was so looking forward to trying it but sadly was disappointed.
Our server was enthusiastic about the menu and was great with giving recommendations. Truly energetic and attentive throughout the whole night. So props to them having an amazing server line up.

I had the Shrimp Po'boy, which was way better than expected. The key was the bread, which was soft and didn't overpower the delicious blackened shrimp and toppings. I went with a group of 4 friends and was disappointed. It’s not the same Blue Gill that I remember and enjoyed. Two of us rated our meals as a “7” [wordfish dinner with chorizo saffron aioli — no vegetable (?); soft shell crab dinner with spanish potatoes]. Two of us rated our meals as a “6” [cod fish tacos with a side salad substituted for homemade potato chips; beet salad with calamari appetizer]. One friend ordered the shrimp and grits, and it came covered with a tomato-based sauce and vegetables (see pic) — NOT your traditional shrimp and grits. A manager came and showed her the menu description and explained the tomato-based sauce as a new spin on the classic dish and graciously allowed her to order a different entree.
The atmosphere is not as cozy as the former location — more industrial, warehouse style, which made it difficult to hear conversation. There is an outdoor dining patio that looked nice. The menu is MUCH smaller than before with only 5 or 6 entrees (described as “larger plates”) with more “shareables” and along with fish tacos, a couple of sandwiches, and salads. We all agreed that the flavors were bland and the seasoning was sparse. You have to request salt and pepper because they are not on the table. The service was good but not very cheerful.
Overall, very disappointing. I don’t plan to return.

Service was slowwww.. but the waiter was nice and thanked me for being patient, didn’t charge me for my drink which was a nice gesture, still tipped her the cost of the drink.

Our Waiter was super nice and wonderful. He was very polite and helpful and always with a smile definitely one of the best parts of the experience. The food was good, the plantain bowls were amazing the meat was very flavorful and so was the rice. The Yuca sticks with cheese were also very good. One of the sauces is not spicy in case someone likes it that way (i do). We also ordered the Seafood Paella and it was good but the flavor was not what you expect in a Paella. The atmosphere was OK but tables were left unclean for a very long time after customers left it may give a better image if at least plates and glassed would be taken away. We arrived to plenty of parking and were seated right away—no wait at all, which was a great start! We absolutely loved the huge array of food. Everything we tried was delicious, hot, and fresh. The waitresses were very attentive and kept everything running smoothly.
I also thought their “over-eat/waste food” policy was hilarious and honestly reasonable. If people are wasting food when others are starving in the world… yeah, I get it!
The ladies’ room was very clean and even had toilet seat covers (a big win for me!), but C said the men’s room was a bit on the gross side, so hopefully that gets some extra attention soon.
One thing to note: they don’t serve alcohol, and they only carry Pepsi products—so just a heads-up if you have a drink preference.
Overall, we had a great experience. We especially loved the noodles and chicken fingers, and we’ll definitely be returning!

It's been forever since I've been to Cheesecake Factory, but after seeing a bunch of TikToks, I started craving it and went for dinner. I knew it would be busy, so I made a reservation and didn't have to wait long. Loved checking out all the cheesecakes in the display case. The menu is huge, so it took a minute to decide. Bread came out first and the brown bread is definitely the best.
So soft and perfect with butter. We shared the fried mac and cheese balls, and they were delicious. Super crispy, hot inside, and the creamy marinara sauce was good even though it was more room temp. The portion was great too. I definitely filled up faster than planned after the bread and two mac and cheese balls.
For my entrée, I got the crispy chicken costoletta and swapped the mashed potatoes for angel hair pasta with extra lemon sauce. The dish came out piping hot. The chicken was juicy and crispy, the lemon sauce was amazing on both the chicken and pasta, and the portion was huge. They forgot my asparagus at first, but it came out a few minutes later. It was honestly pretty plain on its own, but way better dipped in the lemon sauce. I ate about half the plate so I could still have dessert For dessert, I got the Peach Perfect cheesecake. It had raspberry sauce on top and peach pieces throughout. So good and very peach-forward, which I loved. Tried my friend's celebration cheesecake too and hers was a little more frozen. Mine was super soft; I kinda wish it was a bit colder, but still delicious.

The only reason why I give 4 stars for atmosphere, is for the music, it is a little loud inside especially with a busy crowd, staff and general restaurant noises. It can be a little overbearing. Aside from that our family always has a great experience here. Several of the wait staff have come to recognize us. Their salads are very sizable and worth every penny, Turkey burgers are always juicy and never dry hockey pucks and with crispy Sweet Potato Fries. We had heard so much about their food there. We decided to order and give it a shot. We realize that there was one closer to us on 43rd street as there are 2 locations, the other 1 being in town of tioga. Got there 5 minutes early as I wasn't sure the location. Turnaround time for orders to be taken was fairly fast (about a 5 minute wait) despite about 6 other customers before us in line since there were several guys behind the counter. Customers and staff were all wearing masks but the aisles are too narrow for customers to observe proper social distancing so my wife and stayed closer to the entrance until the people in front of us moved to the register. Each time we visit there's a different smell (it's a fresh seafood store, that's expected), and this time it was a lot better, less fishy more boiled seafood. Great selection of fresh seafood and condiments. This is our new fish and shrimp shop as long as their quality remains the same!

We were coming through on our way back home from Tampa and looked up food and found this place. Ended up getting crab legs and shrimp and it was amazing!!! Never had crab legs so full of meat! Definitely get your moneys worth. The fried oysters were so good. Not in the move for bad customer service anymore. Online wasn't working so I called to place my order over the phone. I could not hear the person working clearly because either their phone or mine was breaking up. They seemed annoyed as soon as I could hear their voice. My husband and I decided to go here for dinner one night out of the blue. Amazing overall! Our server Hannah was perfection! She was one of only two servers and also bartending and still got exceptional service and fast food. Yes we had a wait time for food and to be sat but of course that is to be expected when they are short staffed. She was so sweet and really cared about our food, money and experience. This was my 2nd time here. Not sure why I’m just now doing a review. Had a mommy son day date a few weeks ago and came here. Didn’t realize I had been here before until I pulled in the parking lot. There wasn’t a lot of people dining which is a plus for me. My son and I both ordered bagged boil. I don’t remember the name but it had lobster crab shrimp sausage egg and corn. My son ordered extra 🙄like mussels and more shrimp. It was good. I feel like the seasoning didn’t seep through the food fully but it was good. It was definitely hot and fresh. My first visit the food was hot and fresh as well. No complaints there. Really no complaints at all. 🙃I love the decor. Our drinks were mocktails and delicious! Great find! We have been to the competitor on the other side of town many times and just discovered this place. We got the $60 special with 1lb of snow crab, 1 pound of headless shrimp, and 1 pound of clams, 2 corn, 2 potatoe, and of sausage with Cajun medium sauce. My family recently celebrated my Uncle's 65th birthday at Seafood Dock. Even with a large party of 16, including four young children, we had a delightful experience.
The food was delicious. Many enjoyed the fresh raw and steamed oysters. Several in our group chose steamed dinners with various selections like soft-shell crab, shrimp, and sausage. The mild garlic butter sauce was amazing, especially with the potatoes and corn. The hush puppies and onion rings were also a hit.
Our waitress worked hard to keep up with our group and her other tables. She was polite and helpful, ensuring our needs were met. Her effort truly enhanced our dining.
The only small downsides were the slippery floor and the bathrooms. While fine, the double doors on the stalls were a little awkward.
Despite these minor points, the great food and good service made our visit worthwhile. We would eat at Seafood Dock again and recommend it for family gatherings and seafood lovers!

The first few times I had Seafood dock, it was amazing. The atmosphere and food used to be amazing. I had a party of 15 plus 4 at a table right beside us for my daughter’s birthday, and our server Willow was amazing. She was sweet, respectful, and an all around peoples person.
My issue here was I ordered shrimp and Ramen as one of my sides, and it tasted like they dumped a whole pound of garlic and salt on them. They were even spicy and I asked for no spice! I have ordered it before in the past and it was amazing but this time, not so much. Also, if you’d like a comfortable experience I’d try another establishment. It almost made me sick how hot it was in there! No AC AT ALL in Florida heat!! No fan, except at the front where the host was standing. Not where your customers are who are spending money. They said there were no outlets where customers sit, but I saw extension cords going to the front so I feel like they could have made something happen if they cared about their customers enough. The heat in there had to be against some kind of code. I would not dine here again because other than our server who was amazing. I got the vibe that customers are not valued here.

On my way home from my mechanic and hungry, made me do an actual U-turn when I saw the sign. Well worth the stop. Nice price and great personal service too. I ordered the gyro with lamb. Haven't had one this tasty in year's when I lived in Madison, WI. where there was a genuine Greek restaurant. The banana pudding is yummy and my favorite thing, is the cherry limeade. It's delicious!! Visit this place if you want a good meal. It's small but, excellent food and excellent service.
