We came across the cellar door and restaurant by accident. We took a day trip to Bendigo and weren't sure we're to eat. We found the estate and so happy we did. We started with the wine tasting. The staff were friendly and informative. We ended up purchasing 4 bottles. It was interesting to learn about the region. After the tasting, we say down for a meal. We ordered the burrata and heirloom salad. The baked bree cheese crunch with poached pear and papya. The maple glazed roasted pumpkin with cashew puree crispy puy, lentil dhal, and coconut. Brissolla with tomatoes and parmesan. Aylesbury duck breast mixed grains. Gippsland pork belly with roasted apple. Beef strip loin MS 2+ with mushroom goulash. The meals were textural and had an excellent balance of flavours. I found the pork belly a little fatty, although I'm sure it is meant to be like this. Final thoughts - we would eat here again and recommend it to friends and family. It's interesting to know that the sister winery is in the Yarra Valley.

The sign of a great restaurant is one that you don’t want to leave. The staff kinda feel like family by the end of your 3 hours of eating and you just wish they had a sofa for you to collapse on for that food coma we all fell into. Masons was simply wonderful. Food was superb, wait staff were all excellent, Chefs and cooks incredible and very quiet. Not one pot dropped. Superb and totally worth every penny for the experience and flavours. The Central Deborah Mine & the first stop on the Heritage Tram (both a must do) is just around the corner. The Underground Gold Mine tour was enlightening, especially walking through the tunnels. Loved Bendigo & its historic buildings, Cathedral & can’t wait to return & explore the rest of the city as we didn’t have time for the Art Gallery & other attractions. So happy we decided to stop in. When we arrived we were greeted by one of the owners Tracie who was just fabulous! The wines were really good, we ended up taking home quite a few. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back the next day for coffee and lunch, again loving the great company and incredible landscape, and to top it off with a lovely walk around the property. The cellar door with its spectacular views over the vineyard and the olive grove to the soaring granite hills makes a magnificent setting for a wonderfully relaxing afternoon.
