I do believe it just depends on what shipwrecks are available due to lake superior changing, or something like that. There were a few things you got to see other then the ship wrecks and that was the caves and coves, a gravel mine outcove, a pair of eagles in their nest, and a few lighthouses. Both are nice and clean. Snacks and drinks are available for a price, nothing is free these days folks. Except the bathrooms. Those were clean and free. :) I'd probably go again in a few years so i do recommend it!

Took my 13 year old son on his first trail ride here. He loved it. They have all the tools at the base if you need them. The pontoon was comfortable, clean, and easy to drive, giving us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The views from the water were unreal towering cliffs with vibrant streaks of color, waterfalls cascading right over the rocks, and caves carved out by the lake over time. We even passed by a historic lighthouse that added so much character to the trip. Our dog had the time of her life cruising along with us, enjoying the breeze and soaking up the sun on the boat. On the lake, every time we saw the big crowded-with-tourists (and expensive) tour boats go by, we thanked God for the opportunity to see it all at our own pace from our own rented boat from Superior. It was unseasonably cool for July and the weather wasn’t ideal, but he was willing to adventure with us. We brought our two dogs and teenagers, dressed in layers, and explored the Grand Island. Iron Skillet for two nights in September 2024. I cannot say enough good things about this place! The owner Jackie and her "Captain" Keith were so kind and accommodating. We three sisters each got our own rooms that in itself is AWESOME!! The breakfast was delicious especially the cinnamon rolls and Swedish Pancakes. The area is quiet, and close to the Painted Rocks Tour. Jackie and her "Captain" like to hunt for Yooperlights, (glowing rocks) they let us 3 gals tag along with them on this quest. The night was BEAUTIFUL with a full moon and warm temperatures. Needless to say, we didn't find the big rocks, but we had so much fun trying to find them. We would recommend this place to everyone. Jackie and the Captain were awesome, wish we could have stayed longer. In our two weeks of travel this was by far the most memorable, and best food we had on our vacation. Thank you for making 3 sisters feel so welcomed!!!!

I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so wanted a new experience. I booked the Iron Skillet through Jackie for two nights in Munising and it did not disappoint. It was early in the season, so we were the only guests. We had the upstairs all to ourselves. Jackie was an amazing host. The home was neat and clean and unique - antiques and cool decor. Jackie had a special baked treat for us each afternoon - that was a special touch, I thought. Her attention to detail and the pride she takes in her home and hosting will be hard to beat. She greeted us when we arrived, was available for questions as we explored the town, and the food ... Let's talk about the food. I am a foodie and to be honest, that is one of the reasons I booked the place. The pictures you see ... sometimes the pictures are not the reality. That is NOT the case here. The reality far exceeded my expectations. She is an amazing cook and prepares everything in iron skillets - hence the name. She was so thoughtful to tell use what she was having and consider our likes while making tweaks to the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed every single thing she prepared. Something else to add was the added bonus of Captain Keith. Captain Keith was so knowledgable about the area and giving suggestions as to what to do. My sister and I decided to chase waterfalls. Captain Keith gave us a list of waterfalls in order. We were able to see about 12 waterfalls one morning/afternoon. We enjoyed very much sharing some time each morning with both Jackie and Captain Keith. I would definitely go back to the Iron Skillet. When leaving, I felt I had been pampered and I felt like I had made two new friends. Our time in Munising was some of our favorite and that was due in part to the hospitality of Jackie and Keith.
