The atmosphere is lovely with a fireplace on the ground level. We were seated on the second level with view to the river Ness. The service was excellent. We ordered shrimp cocktail and a Cesar salad followed by the steak medium rare with chips and the seabass. The best of it were the chips. Unfortunately the steak was chewy and could have more seasoning. The seabass was good but overcooked. We loved the place and the service but were not impressed with the food.

It's a really nice restaurant in a great location right on the River Ness, so offers great views. Also, we were seated upstairs which gives better views of both the river and the overall restaurant and bar. For food, my wife and I both got the two course meal, so I had the Deconstructed Prawn Cocktail and Fillet of Seabass. The prawns were good and the seabass (and couscous that came with it) was really good. They do a really good job on food presentation here, so it looked great, too. My wife had the Breaded French Brie, which she loved, and Red Pesto Gnocchi, which she said was just ok. Servers were friendly and attentive. The one odd thing that happened was we were presented with the two course menu option, whereas all tables seated after us were presented with a large specials placard which had some dishes I might have ordered. I noticed the one other couple seated before us also looking at the list of specials, so they weren't offered it either. Might have been because we were seated so early - not really sure. Otherwise, was a really good meal in a great location.

I didn't realise that they are the culinary stars in town, I looked for an accessible restaurant with good reviews near out hotel then absolutely loved the sound of their (early evening) menu. I made a note that I was coming in a wheelchair so they could plan where they could best seat me. We were early and given different options. Staff were lovely and chatty. They told us the menu changes every few weeks and you could tell everything was very seasonal. Beautifully presented, I adored my starter and dessert just the combination of flavours and textures a real delight. Honestly one of my highlights of our 5 days in Inverness, how lucky you are!

Waiters were super friendly and fast serving. Menu is excellent. We enjoyed selection of bread, fried patron peppers and sweet potato fries as starter with a bottle of Chardonnay. Then ordered mussels as main course. All were super delicious and tasty. We finished with Crème Brûlée which was mango flavored and cheese cake with raspberries and marshmallows on top. Unexpected taste of both. Reservation was not easy, suggesting to make it 2 nights in advance! We enjoyed outside sitting area for dinner that was a very good choice as inside a bit smelly for us. The only reservation open a week in advance was 5.30pm on a Friday evening, beginning of October 2025. Service was good and atmosphere was ok but we were disappointed with the food. They forgot cheese in the pear walnut and blue cheese salad. We had to ask for it. We had the venison burger and the Orichiette pasta dish. The pasta was undercooked, bland and basically flavorless. The bread looked good but was crumbly, dry and no flavor. The best part of the venison was the sauce but the overdone burger was a disappointment. But we liked the chips which came with the burger. You could see into the kitchen and watch the staff of 20 somethings working hard.

It was fantastic from start to finish. For appetizers we tried the bread, prawns, ravioli, and scallops. The winner was the ravioli for us. For entrees we had the burger, which my wife said was one of her favorite burgers ever, the salmon which was fantastic, the steak (filet) which was delicious and our second favorite steak ever, and the chicken. Can’t recommend this meal enough. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the curb, but it is great inside and much larger than you might expect. The noise was a bit much when full. We got a tea, leek and potato soup, and 2 scrambled eggs on gluten free toast. The wait time was pretty long, about 40 minutes. We ordered so many things like Gobi Manchurian, chicken lollipop for starter and Mutton Biriyani and Dosas in main course. We arrived (four of us) just after 5pm we were fortunate to get a table it is really compact inside. I had pepperoni pizza and it was lovely and then Tiramasu which was also delicious. There only seemed one member of staff serving he did very well. There is outdoor seating and it was a nice evening people opted for that instead of inside. All in all a very good experience, be prepared to wait or come as early as possible. It is well worth it. However the food was a huge let down, What on earth is going on? Everything is just so random and doesn't go well with each other. I booked afternoon tea for mum and me for her birthday. Thankfully she had the regular menu and really enjoyed it. Sadly I had the vegan option and it was hugely disappointing. I had checked the website before and saw the vegan afternoon tea menu which sounds delicious. Sadly didn't receive anything slightly resembling the menu. While I would understand a slight alteration to a menu due to availability there wasn't much, in fact not one sandwich or cake that was the same. Below I've shared the menu and a pic of what I actually got for the cakes. No flapjacks, cakes and the brownie was just plain chocolate (and to be honest actually just ok). Instead of menu I got a fruit skewer with two strawberries, two grapes and a raspberry and half a banana...with plain chocolate brownie. Really not at all what was advertised. Very uncreative and felt like a pretty cheap alternative. Definitely not worth the afternoon tea price. Sandwiches actually received were all a mixture of vegan cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion....no humous, salsa or seaweed in sight. Vegan cream for the scone would not be difficult or even expensive, even a squirt of vegan squirty cream would be more thoughtful than nothing. I would have fed this back directly but sadly no one asked for feedback or even if everything was ok with the meal. Thankfully mum enjoyed her tea and as it was a treat for her I didn't want to spoil her day out with my disappointment. My advice, enjoy the afternoon tea but if you're vegan go elsewhere.
