The only downside was the seats were not very comfortable, during the interval I heard multiple people mention that their bums were hurting after sitting in the seats for a while - which I agreed with. The seats are also not the most plus sized friendly, I (a size 22/24) did feel quite squished within my seat, however it was bearable and there wasn’t too much discomfort. There is plenty of legroom in the stalls which is very nice :) also the way the seats are situated means no matter where you sit in the stalls you can see the stage clearly! A little bit more air con would’ve been appreciated as it was 30° degrees outside, however this wasn’t a huge problem. Apart from the seats I have nothing negative to say about the theatre! It’s only a 5 minute walk from Lime Street Station, and we had a very pleasant experience:)

Back home in LA we’re used to reclining theaters, but we had never seen sofa seating before—so cozy! It made for the perfect date night after a long day of sightseeing. Parking was super easy too—right across from the theater and only £1.50 per hour after 6pm. We watched The Roses, which felt extra special since we had seen the trailer back home and joked about how epic it would be to watch it in the UK (especially with both Benedict and Olivia being British)—and then we actually did it! One really nice touch: before the movie started, a staff member came in, reminded everyone to silence their phones, and chatted with us a bit. It almost felt like being at Sundance or a film festival. In short—highly recommend this place. And to whoever designed the bar seating area: amazing job. Can we be friends? :)

Firstly, it's not really fair to take aconclusive view until I've dined at BOXPARK so this review is only based on having a drink. The place itself is really smart and has excellent acoustics, plenty of bars, seating (inside and out), and lots street food pods. Across the venue there a multiple screens showing sporting events, like the euros. This is where I think the venue has massive potential as the viewing experience from all angles was excellent. However, there was a few 'oddities' which is why I think this place is still trying to find it's identity. To explain, the football was on (great) but there was also a live band on stage (also great but singing in front of the main screen.....?). Outside the music playing on the speakers (very loudly) was different to the live music inside the venue (so every time the door from inside to outside opened you were treated to that random two room nightclub scenario). The online app to order drinks didn't work no matter what I tried so I think this might need looking at. While I'm no app expert, I am fairly tech savvy and this ordering app was definitely buggy. I gave up in the end and just reverted to the old fashioned approach of walking to a bar (which was fine). In summary, I did like BOXPARK Liverpool and will return. However, I do also think it needs to try and sort it's current identity. Less is definitely more when it comes to street food and minimalist dining. But I do think this place is awesome and would encourage everyone to pay a visit.

I really loved the dark humour of the script as it lent a very clever satirical depiction of how governments and the 1% profit off of fraud and ignorance for their own self interests and limit the potential for progress to create a more perfect world. The play also had a lot of heart put into it as well as we follow the journey one of the government workers struggling with an internal battle as the magnitude of his career path starts to weigh on his conscience. The actors really sold the over-the-top nature of the script and the added projector visuals set the tone very nicely and made the play feel bigger than the sum of its parts. ‘Conspiracies Redirected’ has the potential to go much further as a production and I look forward to seeing where Lewis and Leo of Moore Productions take it as well as their other works. Hope Street theatre offers great opportunities to up-and-coming creatives looking to put on early runs of their works and is definitely a space worth checking out to see new works.
