And this was before we even entered the reception region of the Flying Elephant. We had to mention that we were just for the restaurant and not for the bar after which they agreed there wasn’t any dress code for the same. They made us go a different way for the restaurant where there were no people to receive us. This is not something expected of a five star restaurant . If there was a restriction then something could have been mentioned beforehand through some website or they could have politely informed us AFTER we talked to the receptionist. Why to judge before we even told why we were even here for? This was the worst experience and when we raised the concern to the manager and the receptionist, both were not even sorry, and they started recommending other restaurant inside Hyatt, I mean, are you guys not even confident on your own staff? The manager later said he will provide his number that we can contact the next time we are here. Does it mean are you guys going to treat the next person who did not “dress up” the same way. Is that what the standard of a five star hotel is about? Were you guys not educated about hospitality? We had pre-booked our table, which I highly recommend, especially for larger groups. We went on a Sunday by car, there’s plenty of free parking, and you just need to hand over your car key. The first floor is open and windy, giving a stunning beach view, and we visited it to take some pictures before our lunch. The food is definitely on the higher side price-wise, but the quality made it worth it. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout. I felt ground floor is satisfied with reception, big open space for drinks. First floor has private party hall and second floor is open terrace. Consider only food quality and worth for penny. I would say decent food taste. However few menu items taste were not good. First thing the hospitality was just awesome. Though we went for a Bollywood night, seeing the local peeps like us, it turned out be kuthu night and boy were we glad about it! The food and service was really good. The drinks were lovely and we had a blast here :)

Entry price was ₹1000 per head( Redeemable inside). 1. Place was okay. Not a big space if it gets crowded. 2. Service was poor. Everytime we had to shout and cry for someone to come and take the order. And we didn’t like the attitude of the one who attended us( not so welcoming) 3. Cocktails Drinks were sloppy. We ordered three LIT( LongIsland Iced Tea) of which 1 came as a proper LIT and other 2 came as a LITE version of it. Mojito was just fine. 4. Food was average. Pepperoni Pizza was average. Madurai Mutton was average. 5. They have a dance floor which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The DJ was getting better towards the night end. 6. Pool table was not available ( Not available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays itseems ). We were disappointed we didn’t get it. 7. They have enough car parking space available. 8. They have a small smoking zone inside the Club.

If you do hate it rest assured you can leave without any FOMO. Today's was most millennial top charts, which hit that nostalgia itch I had. Only disappointment is that there's no real dance floor. Food is very good here, It's very expensive but no dish was disappointing. Most other pubs are expensive and serve sawdust as food. It's free entry for couples and a reimbursable 2k for a stag. They are a bit anal about entry but that's any pub in Chennai. And ofcourse absolutely no Tamil music - disappointing as any other spot in Chennai.

The place is beautiful, with stylish décor and plenty of seating. The highlight is the top floor with its glass ceiling, completely covered by a huge tree – it gave the whole space such a unique vibe.
