I highly recommend making reservations if you plan to visit. They typically give you an hour with the mixologist. The night we went it was dealers choice (or bartenders choice). You tell them the types of alcohol or flavors you like and they put something together for you based on your preferences. All of the drinks the four of us were given were delicious. You can see some of the pictures attached. It’s a super cool atmosphere and the decor is amazing - dark and woody with paintings on the ceiling. The only slight downfall was the 60 minute limitation but given the number of people who want to come here I suppose it’s not unreasonable. The atmosphere is so cool. The giant skull wall, Paintings on the ceiling, and wax dripping chandeliers are all stunning. We waited an hour to get in but we didn’t have a reservation so that’s totally understandable. Im surprised we got in at all. We got food at the neighborhood while we waited it was perfect timing and highly recommend. The entrance is so cool. The entire vibe and experience itself is great. I loved how the bartenders came up and asked for drink profiles it felt very intimate and specific to our needs at 1st…it did take 25 plus minutes for them to come over to us and then another 20 plus to get the drinks at least but it was busy so I kinda expected that. I realized after we got the drinks that all of our drinks were just classic cocktails. The drinks were simple but they did taste good. I was a little under whelmed with the cocktails if I’m being completely honest. I am a bartender and I could have made all the drinks we had. They were not unique to the bar, they were classics that anyone can get at any somewhat decent cocktial bar. That being said they did a really good job showcasing the classics, I just was expecting them to have an actual cocktail menu or something that was unique in that regard. Also we hardly had time for 2 rounds before they make you settle up so more people can come in, it felt a little rushed due to it taking so long for them to get our 1st round going. I’m still gonna leave 5 stars because the experience overall was fun and I recommend it. It’s worth it for the aesthetic alone.

The ambience, decor and the service are all to the point. The lamb Sichuan noodles was exceptional and Gioia burrata is a must try. Everything had a trailer park theme to it right down to the light fixtures. Which were garbage cans over the booth. The food was great! We had the kitchen sink tots, chicken arr-zones, and the "Mom the meatloaf" sliders. Everything was exceptional! The only improvement I would offer is to try and season the tater tots better. My girlfriend and I saw this place in San Diego eater and we are so glad we stopped. Apparently, it was a soft opening so the complete menu wasn't available. We had to check our phones to verify the location because we didn't see it was inside of another business. Upon checking in with the hostess she did let us know it was currently standing room only and we agreed upon walking insid. The lighted skulls decor got our attention as we walked into what turned out to be an immersing tiki experience. Lots of different drinks offered on the menu along with a special menu as well. We had our drink order taken, then chairs along the bar opened up. The lighted bar top with memorabilia of San Diego's past nightlife was great. Our drinks came as we heard a storm coming as someone ordered one of their specialty drinks and it allows the entire place to get behind the presentation as well. The drinks were fresh and worth every penny as well. We enjoyed relaxing, listening to live music as we caught ourselves always looking around to seeing something new in the decor. The music level was just a bit loud making it harder to hear the bartenders while being helped. Glad we were able to finally visit and recommend it for locals and visitors looking for a unique experience close to downtown San Diego and right off of the MTS red trolley and just down the road from Little Italy.

I've been to many late night joints grabbing food and a drink sitting at the bar. Taste & Thirst was top notch from the moment I walked up to the doors late on Sunday evening. From the front door staff and waitress to the burger and the cold beer it was great. But the real green here was the amazing gal running the bar, as far as bar tenders go she was one of the top. Super friendly, even for me as a stranger, attentive great attitude and you could tell from how many regulars where their and how they interacted with her that she was just genuinely a cool person. If i lived here in San Diego this would definitely be on of my regular spots. And if i ever make it back here I'll absolutely be stopping in. Thanks for the great experience!

We decided to go with the wild mushroom pasta and instead of a ballance of quality mushrooms and pasta it was a tone of cremini mushrooms that werent very flavorful and were a bit watery. We didnt have a reservation but were seated right away which was nice but it took a while to get our order in after that. Once we had our order in though they stopped by to fill our waters and give us bread often. The servers were pretty friendly and the atmosphere did feel like an italian dinner. The quality is usually not as big of an issue at normal restraunts but with the price or most meals being around $30 I was hoping for more.

I asked for chili flakes and they brought out Calabrian chilies!! I loved it my spaghetti and meatballs was perfect my husband had the papardelle. The hostess was so nice and personable. The chef/owner is from Italy and has carefully curated the menu to be very authentic Italian cuisine. I’ve been to the one in Escondido and the beer and food is similar. This one is closer to downtown San Diego and has a nice outdoor bar. This location has a garden with a koi pond and lots of umbrellas for shade. The food is delicious and when paired with the right beer highlights the taste of both. Definitely make a reservation to avoid waiting in line.

It was cooked well and didn't taste bad, but the smoked cheddar steals is too overbearing of a flavor. If this burger had regular cheddar or a little milder flavored cheese, I'd give it at least one more star. Overall, the food was pretty good. Drinks - My wife ordered the Helter Shelter and I ordered the Provisional Negroni. Both were delicious. We ordered seconds. Price - The cost was fair. I'd say they're right on par with what you'd expect (generally speaking) especially considering we got a movie as well. Will we return to Charles + Dinorah (The Pearl) in the future?
