The best part about this spot is the view from the rooftop during sunset in the evening. The bar overlooks the downtown streets, and watching the sun go down in the distance is quite nice. Nothing to write home about. The entire place was on the smaller end, and there wasn't much to do if you weren't swimming in the small pool or drinking alcohol. This place is basically for the view period. Also, I didn't like the fact that they closed my tab out when they switched shifts without telling me. Staff met us at the door and were very pleasant. Gave us options of seats, which is always a nice option. The menu seemed to be limited compared to other restaurants, but pretzel sticks and pizza were good. As a starting cocktail I tried the Queen's Coupe - Empress 1908 gin, watermelon, basil, lavender, chareau, citric acid, & basil "air". It was absolutely lovely. For starters we all shared the Vidalia Onion Tart (very tasty, but the pastry didn't taste super fresh), the herbed goat cheese zucchini flowers (delicious), and the best - Pink Garlic Croquettes with Ramp Pesto & Crispy Shallots. The croquettes were hot and crispy, with a soft and flavorful inside with the perfect hint of spice. These were so good, but I wish more than 3 came on the plate - so we got 2 more orders to go at the end of the meal! For our mains, my father got the seabass with mango peppers red onion and oven roasted yucca. It was quite a small piece of fish - but my father raved about it. He did say the yucca underneath was a bit dry. I chose the honey ginger chicken with indonesian fried rice, peppers and cucumbers and I was super happy with the combination of flavors - it is a VERY well thought out dish. My mother is a vegetarian - and although there was an option on the menu, it didn't quite speak to her. The chef was kind enough to make a simple tagliatelle with a scampi sauce and tomatoes. She also was happy with her choice. The desserts really topped this meal off. The strawberry dessert was tasty, but I recommend the Island Mango Tango - coconut mousse with white wine compressed mango, passion fruit glee, and madagascan vanilla ice cream. It was top notch and the presentations were lovely. This entire meal was very enjoyable, especially paired with the bottle of red wine from Banfi we chose. However, 2 "small" details really put a damper on the dining experience. We were still in the middle of our desserts - literally spoon in mouth, dish not even close to being finished - with the bill was placed on our table. We did not ask for it, it was not super late, and it was weird to have it given to us while we were still eating. What if we wanted after dinner cocktails? The second - and I feel I should have called attention to this but my mother insisted we didnt - is that they charged us the full price for the tagliatelle dish with lobster bolognese on the menu ($42!) rather than giving any price adjustment for just tagliatelle and scampi. However, I feel like this is an error on the part of the waitstaff who rang up the order. We received our drinks then we received our food sometime after. My wife’s burger patty was so so it was previously frozen. My tacos were semi warm. The beef meat that was used in these tacos did not taste good at all underseasoned and the taste of the taco seemed average for a fast food restaurant. Shortly after we received our food, we received two shot glasses with oysters and some bloody Mary mix with old bay on the rim. We were disappointed because we’ve had shooters in the past and it’s always served on a half shell plus that’s what the menu showed. We promptly asked for our bill and it was $73.00! Average food that is extremely overpriced. I will not be returning here again. This explains why all of the other restaurants had a lot more people than what was at this location.

They put down the plates in front of random people instead of ensuring everyone got the correct dish. Some plates were exchanged around the table but one was bitten into and it was the incorrect steak meant for a different person in our party. It was a $100 steak so a very expensive mistake. Also no music while we were there. The drinks were excellent and well made and under $10. We had a Negroni, old fashioned, Cosmopolitan and a beer and they do not use the cheap stuff. The Negroni had Carpano Antica Vermouth. Bartender was cordial and engaging. I can see where parking could be tough. We’ll be back

By 8:30pm it started to get crowded I can see how it could be even more hopping later at night with the after dinner crowd. All in all, it was a cool little bar. Reminded me of the speakeasies I used to go to in NYC like the Auction House on the UES. Loved the drink, loved the experience, the mixologists are very passionate and knowledgeable and the owner was very welcoming and accommodating even though we interrupted a wine event. As for the add-on, at this point I was already skeptical...but it got worse: the therapist showed me two packets (two options of face mask) and asked me to choose one. How unprofessional is this? You should never show the customer the product like that...you should embellish with an inviting description and then make it seem more wonderful (than it actually is) through your words, with competence and professionalism. And guess what? You may actually even sell more (without breaking the bank). They simply have NO CLUE what they are doing. But let's get back to the face massage... ...after finding out the luxurious $35 Face mask massage was nothing more than a $3 Walmart product, I had to remind the therapist I had makeup on. Usually, when you are in a professional location- and even more if it's a high-end location (like the Westin wants you to think) you wouldn't even have to bring this up, but I had to. What happens next? I get handed a wet wipe and have to take off the makeup myself...this is simply unheard of. Needless to say, my add-on was a scam...no gemstone roller ever mentioned or used, the mask wasn't even applied thoroughly (I had to adjust it myself). When the time was up, not even the courtesy or common sense to let the customer take a breath that your robe is thrown on top of you and you're left to gather your things and leave. My friend's experience was similar. She opted for the $15 glass of "Champagne" (and said the whole bottle was worth less), a face add-on as well as one of the body targeted add-ons. We just wanted to leave, but shocker: we had a mandatory payment of 18% gratuity that was never mentioned upon scheduling (not deserved, clearly). Which is ok if you are really satisfied, but we clearly were not. As we leave my friend asks me "what did we pay for?" and I'm still wondering the same myself: we brought the Westin a little over $750 between the two of us and we don't even know what exactly we paid for. Being from Europe and South America unfortunately we understand they just need to learn and just don't get it...but we never thought it would be this bad. Maybe some of the other therapists are good, we didn't try them all (and never will) but based on this experience I can say I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The fish bite was not very good but Charlie worked hard to keep us busy and catching despite the uncooperative fish. We tried several different spots, caught live bait, worked lures - threw everything we could out there and ended up catching several types of fish including some to take home for dinner. Charlie was good company too - very laid back and fun to spend the day with. Highly recommended and will be using him again next time we have a weekend trip to Sarasota.
