Every time someone rang the bell to be let into the property the dog started barking. I immediately started looking for somewhere else to stay, and ended up leaving. The owners did give me a refund and I left and went to stay in a hotel 5 minutes away. I appreciate that the owners did give me a refund but I think the reviews online are deceiving and more people should be told. When I arrived at the hotel I explained to the staff what happened and they said I was not the first person who left this guesthouse to go the hotel. We enjoyed Sunday lunch here after the Remembrance Day parade at Victoria Park, and I can't praise the staff and especially Colleen for hosting us. I ate around the edges of mine and left it, wouldn't even bring it home for my dog!! The birthday boy had to wait until we were almost finished eating what we could of our meal before he got his meal but upon asking a waitress how much longer he was going to have to wait, her reply was "I don't know" and she walked away!! No one came to check we were happy with our meals, but the waitress who came to clear the table (Cleo/Chloe?) was lovely and could apologise enough. I ordered the grilled Butterfly chicken meal. It comes with spicy rice, fries salad a drink of your choosing. I just chose a bottle of mineral water. After paying I was given a pager, to let me know when my order is ready to be picked up. The Butterfly chicken meal was wholesome, it felt like I was eating comfort food. When I was eating the meal didn’t feel like I was eating greasy food like when you get food from typical fried chicken takeaways.
