Having said that we will definatley be staying here again. The Georgian house is part of Gloucestershire charity Aim up to provide a range of care and support services to adults with disabilities, challenging needs and health conditions. There aim to provide training in all areas of the hospitality industry to people who would otherwise be unemployed. During this training they also work towards credited exams and receive certification. They take on students and staff from all backgrounds, learning and developing their skills as they go. The guest house is in a perfect location for anyone visiting the city for the many shows and festivals held there during the year. Right in the city with an NCP car park across the street or permit parking changed at just £5 a night if you book direct. I can't recommend this place enough. The rooms were pleasantly decorated in keeping with the appearance and period of the house, the breakfast was superb and the on site project managers were friendly and helpful. If your in the area give it a chance. This project is deffinatly something I would be invested in if it was local to me.

The house is in a great location, easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking and a gentle walk from Cheltenham town centre. Pubs, bars and restaurants are all a few minutes' walk away. We had been allocated room 16, down one flight of stairs on the lower ground floor. The room is modern, bright and has a nice little en-suite. The bed was comfortable and the room is well-equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, plus water in a small fridge. However, there is one major drawback of the room we stayed in: the wall between our room and the adjoining room (17) has pretty much no soundproofing. Not only could we hear the guests in room 17 talk (no secret conversations to be had in rooms 16 and 17!), but their TV and bathroom use was also very audible. It appears to be great place, but feels like the owners are trying to maximise profit by squeezing in as many box rooms as possible with paper thin walls whilst reducing the services previously included. Having stayed here twice previously, the breakfast has been replaced by hot water for self service tea making and a choice of high fat muffins or a 50p cereal bar. The photos for the superior rooms was certainly not the room we were allocated by the machine at the entrance. There is an email and phone number if you actually want to speak to a person otherwise no one in sight. In the morning in our room on the top floor, we listened to the conversation of the couple in the bathroom next door. There was a spider in their bath amongst the discussions between them. We listened to someone leaving their room, walked down the stairs all the way to them closing the front door as they went out. Due to the slanting ceiling, unless under average height, it is impossible to fully stand up in the shower, as well as having to considerably stoop when reaching for the towels. Banged my head twice. Yet, with the drop off in quality / availability of service, the price has noticeably increased since my last visit. So the lasting impressions were "style over substance" and yet another example of "customers being ripped off in Britain". All communications from the hotel were clear and concise, self check-in was a breeze and everything worked seamlessly. Staff were welcoming and polite. I stayed in the Hillview room which was set-up as requested as a Twin. A light, bright room with lots of space, a comfortable sofa and chair to relax in and a big bathroom with separate shower and bath. The beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillows and nice quality linens. The bathroom towels were large, thick and fluffy (a rarity in most hotels these days it seems!). In the room there’s a kettle, cups and nice selection of teas and instant coffee from Clipper, a useful small drinks fridge with milk and bottle of mineral water. The communal areas were spotless. Beaumont House is a short walk from the town and just a few minutes from the excellent Bath Road shops, cafes and pubs. Highly recommended, will definitely stay again.

Hotel is dog friendly. And it actually is. Rooms are spacious, dogs allowed almost everywhere with their own sectioned odd space in the restaurant. Fee isn't too bed. Unsure if its usual (as we arrived early) but the hotel doesn't do any of the beds/ bowls that other places sometimes do, but that's just not important to us as we use his stuff anyway. Bed was large (King room) and comfy. Corridors are long and narrow so bear that in mind if visiting. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but did have breakfast. The room is large and spacious, the dog friendly bit was a bit chilly but a good space. If your dog is a bit anxious and there are multiple dogs though, this could be tricky. Breakfast itself was only just about fine. Selection and quality was limited but it did the job for us. The car park is large and easy to park in, the staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't use the spa but I did use the gym. Its modern with an excellent range of equipment but it was busy as they sell memberships, so got full quickly. Especially given restricted hours (06:30am opening in the week, 8am weekends). I firmly believe hotel gyms should be 24/7 for guests. I have rated the hotel a 3 as 3.5 wasn't an option. Improved breakfast selection and quality, gym opening, aircon etc all knock it from a 4 experience down slightly. But for the price point, if those things were improved or rectified this would score a 4 as decent value.

The hotel is of a hybrid build knocking together former grand houses, which brings some challenges to the layout. The hotel has no lift. The stairs are narrow and steep and I was on the second floor. This maybe a challenge with those with mobility issues and those with luggage. The breakfast was excellent, a highlight of my trip. Reception was helpful when they were there. However, I found reception unmanned multiple times in the evenings which brought service and security concerns with free access from the street. Housekeeping of the room didn't happen during my stay. I only stayed 2 nights and on checkout they apologised and remarked it was an oversight. Overall, the breakfast was the highlight, however, the "missing" services and hotel layout made me feel its not worth the price point being demanded.

The location was great, very central and a few minutes away from major shops and eateries. The room size was okay, enough for what I needed, and had hangers and enough space for everything I needed. My room came equipped with a microwave, fridge, plates and cutlery. I was glad of the fridge and the microwave, it made it more convenient for my food. However, the plates and cutlery looked like they weren't washed properly, therefore I did not use them. Housekeeping was done, but my bed was not made. And the bathroom towels were replaced without being needed to, I would have happily used them again as it was just a short stay. Can't complain about the staff, they were friendly enough, and had a polite check-in/checkout encounter. If you want a luxury experience with accommodation and a pleasant stay, I would not recommend this place. It looks a bit worse for wear, but I think all they need is to refurbish the rooms and give them a good clean and makeover. It's okay for anyone needing a very short stay while being close to Cheltenham Town centre.

Cheap and cheerful is what I would say but the wife say no cheerful. We arrived to a friendly team in the main office which was present when we eventually went to go to our room we had been almost floored by the strong stench of Weed. Having known this smell from the horticultural society daily meetings in a location north of Scotland "Torry, Aberdeen" i had spoken to the team who were shocked to learn someone had been smoking the Ganja in the building they did do a door to door knock to see if they could find what room it was. But came up with no answers. But for £39 a night a little bit of a smell in the corridor I could put up with as didn't go into the rooms. The cleanliness of the rooms wasn't that grate but to be honest having been out to see some of the sites locally I was tired enough to not care too much as I just needed a sleep. Rooms had no cooling in so each room had a fan left to plug in. Safety mechanism fitted to the window to stop it being opened too far was broken. The door lock to the bathroom was extremely stiff so struggled to unlock inside. However trusty knife I found in the room worked as a key. Needless to say not the worst hotel I've ever booked 🤣. But I can safely say my wife will do all the hotel bookings from now on.

The sheets were clean and the bed was relatively comfortable, but very low quality room - electricity was off when we got there, room was absolutely sweltering and genuinely gave crackden vibes. Property is not secure either, keypad locked door does not work and was left propped open overnight. No privacy from other guests - can audibly hear conversations from the other rooms. We were recommended to come here for the Sunday Roast but were left let down and underwhelmed. Seated with a wobbly table, next to a large dog who was up every 5 minutes in our space, which was unacceptable whilst diners are trying to eat. When spending close to £25 a head for a main course you really expect better. Food was presented well, and the staff seamed friendly enough, there just seemed a lack of going above and beyond or care for each table. The main reason was to watch the football as the pub has plenty of screens and we've watched the rugby and football here before, plus the atmosphere isn't too bad. The main bar area was pretty full and there were no free tables. As we wanted to eat that meant that we couldn't sit there, so we moved through to the area at the side, a good sized area with 12 other people who were, like us, waiting for the game to start. So we took a table in this area and ordered our food at the bar. It then became apparent that another game was being shown in this area, so we asked 10 of the other twelve people which game they wanted to watch, so as not to be rude; no one wanted the game that was being shown, so we went and asked at the bar if the channel could be changed. Initially we were told yes, so everyone was happy. To clarify the remaining two people were having a meal and weren't interested in watching the game, so job done. Everyone was happy. After ten minutes the channel hadn't been changed so we went and asked again, this time the guy said no, as he knew that there was someone who wanted to watch the game that was on (one person, four screens?????) - well this wasn't the case, as we'd spoken to everyone! The barman made it clear that he wasn't changing the channel. So all twelve of us left this area of the pub and stood in the bar area, or at least we did until our food arrived some twenty or so minutes later. When we sat down and ate our food there was now only one other person in the area which we'd all vacated, a lady who had been stood at the bar talking to the barman who'd told us that he wouldn't change the channel?!?! Umm. So that wasn't great. Like us the other twelve customers weren't impressed at all. Anyway, now to our food. I had the Christmas Turkey dinner, it was OK at best. The roast potatoes weren't great at all, they were really dry and barely roasted. The carrots were 'mushy', and the sprouts weren't too far behind plus the turkey was dry and the sausage, in the pigs-in-blanket wasnt well cooked. For what it was £15.95 was a lot of money. My son had the festive Christmas burger with a portion of fries and a solitary onion ring! One of the saddest things you'll see this Christmas, sat on the plate, all alone, like it had been taken away from the rest of its family 🥲. The burger wasn't very tasty, it wasn't well seasoned at all, not very tasty or flavoursome and the sauce, which was cranberry, didn't add to the experience. So our experience, including the meal, at The Lansdown wasn't great. We certainly won't be rushing back any day soon. The decor and furnishings are also tired, there were big chunks of plaster missing in the corridor that leads to the toilets. The bar does offer a good range of beers, including low alcohol and alcohol free beers, lagers and ciders. When booking I made them aware we were visiting as a treat before our wedding day in 2 days. On arrival you’d think someone might mention it or wish us congratulations, but nothing. She had her massage and I was told to be waiting in the waiting area at 11.15am. After a few minutes I approached the desk to be again met with a luke warm reception and told it would be a couple of minutes. I waited nearly 10 minutes which in isolation isn’t a long time but it’s the feeling of not being a priority that was disappointing. I will say the masseuse was excellent. She was friendly and apologised for the delay as she was told I should be booked for 11.30am. She offered congratulations for our wedding day and the massage was excellent. Overall the whole experience felt very average at best. Poor welcome, poor customer service, nothing to make a customer feel special in what should be a special environment. This is without mention of the road leading to the spa being closed, the outdoor pool being worked on so basically not useable and the blood on the floor of the waiting area and changing room. I have requested contact details for the General Manager to discuss further.

I think it is run under some kind of strange concession system when someone buys the brand. I booked online on IHG website and was offered clear option either pay in advance or pay £30 more per night and flexible terms pay on arrival. I chose the former. Was then surprised when was told when I checked in that I had not paid and needed to pay in full. Big scandal ensued. German couple next to me had exactly same issue. Very poorly handled by very arrogant and incompetent hotel management and staff. It turns out that they in fact only charge you when you check in but lie on website. I ended up not staying and abandoning whole trip over this issue. Appalling staff and attitude at hotel and I am member of their loyalty scheme.Also just looking at reviews hotel management answers fawning over good reviews but plenty of 1 and 2 star reviews with frankly more constructive feedback than mine are of course completely ignored by arrogant mgmt.

The building needs a massive revamp and some love because it could be a half decent budget hotel. But in its current form I would not go near it again and basically would not recommend it to anyone other than very drunk young people who just want a few hours head down after a night of debauchery. Great location. Sort the the rooms and building out it needs a lot of work to get that up to anything close to 3 stars. It's only scraping 1 star at present!

The blanket is dirty with mold. The staff is friendly to change a new room. However, the room is still dirty and dusty. Furniture and equipment did not clean properly. Shower head did not works well and bath tub switch has broken without repairs. Hair dryer does not works well which is a disaster after shower and cannot get some rest with wet hair. The room is close to center just behind a main shopping street but it is noisy at the night time when the club start active. Definitely not coming back. I think is time to consider for some renovations.

Nice staff and nice vibe throughout. Like most boutique hotels it’s attractive but can be very annoying too! Basics, like the shower always flooding the whole bathroom floor with a cm of water, which means you have to waste every towel to dry the floor, which is incredibly wasteful of water and towels, and yet they put the silly note in the bathroom about wanting to conserve and not change towels daily, which is laughable. They have a beautiful sink, but there’s no where to put anything, so you are balancing your toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving gear, deodorant all over the bathroom, which they annoyingly fill with cute nick nacks! It’s infuriating to actually use what is a beautiful “looking” but impractical bathroom. The sink plug won’t seal so you are constantly filling up the sink to shave, which is annoying and wasteful. To be honest, it’s a lovely looking hotel but the practicality’s of it have not been thought through. There are lots of other small but annoying details which are like this simply because the management want it to look nice, but have never thought I’ll stay in the room myself as a guest and test it all out. So in summary, a beautiful hotel, lovely staff, very very attractive throughout but for someone travelling, thoroughly annoying and impractical rooms. Fantastic location, Wellington Square and Pitville are great place to explore Cheltenham from.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an 'excellent' room and it felt so luxurious. The little touches were amazing and facilities excellent (Dyson fan and hairdryer). It felt really personal and homely but also very hands off and respectful of privacy. It was peaceful and quiet and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. It's a 6 minute walk from the Brewery Quarter of Cheltenham and parking was included for all of Zone 10 incase you didn't want the walk! We have been to plenty of 'dog tolerant' hotels before but this was truly dog friendly, without it taking away from the experience of the stay (we were the only guests with one).

The photos are very deceiving. This is an un staffed property meaning no reception. The first thing we notice was that the key coded door for security was on the latch hence anyone could walk in, we obtained the key from the key box on the wall, the door was very stiff to push to open, we were met by a very peculiar smell which we couldn't work out either dog or cooking fat, the room was shabby, because of the smell it didn't feel clean. We would have liked to have kept the window open, but being on the ground floor this wasn't possible because there were no security locks so again anyone could gain entry. Our big mistake was not reading the awful reviews this property seems to have. This place has a very weird vibe and for some reason we didn't feel safe. We will not be staying here again.

I wouldn’t say it’s a top notch boutique hotel like some with sumptuous bed linen, fluffy towels and quirky nick nacks. Granted there is miss match furniture, but you can tell every effort is made to keep this hotel clean and spotless. I wouldn’t say say it’s only the little things that let it down like a very old toilet brush in my bath room, some of the grouting just needs whitening and up in a corner of the ceiling the paint is peeling. My bed is comfy. It’s a very spacious room too. Gad a lovely warm bath. The shower wasn’t very powerful but still did the job of washing my hair. It’s a great place to stay as a base and easy visiting the surrounding villages, Cotswolds, Gloucester and near by Cheltenham. This evening I popped to the Dunkerton Cider Park. Such a lovely vibe as soon as you walk in with lots of different food stalls bars, and a bakery, deli shop on site selling hand made fresh artisan products and ciders wines. There even had a band on. Have to say for a one nights stay without breakfast was £57 as I’m solo travelling. Their restaurant menu has ample choice. Definitely worth staying. But don’t expect the higher end boutique hotels in this hotel and I definitely recommend anyone staying here.

Was great value for money and would love to come back again. Booking was easy and updates / information prior to the booking was good. On the day we were waiting to check in, got a nice courtesy call giving us all the information we needed for our room and that the air con had been left on to cool the room. We found the hotel easily enough and the apartment did not disappoint. Very spacious and had everything we needed. Everything from the booking direct process, communication and the warm and welcoming greeting on arrival from the Lovely Ray - who couldn't do enough for you was first rate🌟. We booked the suite which is on the lower ground floor - this turned out to be 2 separate rooms which were not adjoined. We ended up getting a refund for the remaining nights and checking out. Good points: staff were very friendly, helpful and accessible. The other rooms we checked in the hotel were more modern and I can see why the hotel received excellent reviews based on them Bad points: the lower ground suite was outdated, damp and not very family friendly. Access is via a pin code but it didn't work so we had to ring the bell to be told we were too early even though our booking confirmation said from 1pm and it was past that so confusing access time. If you have a car then make sure you book a room plus parking to get a permit to park outside. The room was very large and felt like it had been newly decorated. There was a small fresh milk and water in the fridge which was nice. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board were also available in the room. The bed was very comfortable and quiet so we slept well. There were 2 single duvets on a double bed. Great location.

Set in the lovely Cheltenham. We came here for a weekend getaway. We had heard found the hotel online and it looked fantastic! The photos are exactly how the hotel is. The only thing they hide is the sheer scale of the place! Our room... I have to say the people built things to last back in 1832! Which is when it was built and still standing. But I digress. Our room, consisted of the main bedroom/lounge area, a short corridor and the bathroom. This is the Fig Tree room. I think the square foot area of the downstairs of our house might be the same as the Fig Tree room. It's almost palatial. You have lovely high ceilings and extra large windows. A bed which is very comfortable, supported my back perfectly and big enough to sleep three people. You have a TV and DVD player in the room, kettle, two spa worthy bathrobes, two pairs of spa slippers, a few seats and a vanity table. If you'require in need of a coffee you'll be pleasantly surprised to find it's not the generic Nescafe, you also have a good set of options, herbal teas, hot chocolate and just tea. The bathroom is huge, so much so there is an echo if you talk to loud in there. Lovely towels make for a better bathing experience in my opinion. Thick and soft! Orla Keeley is a brand I had never heard of. But very nice and quite possily some of the best shower gel/moisturiser I have ever had in a hotel. Heating can be an issue for big house, but they have heating available in each room. Just set the thermostat to the correct temperature and just relax. It's a home away from home, but better. Billiards room is across the hall, here you'll find anot her gigantic room, which has a few sofas, TV and DVD player. If you're into reading, they have a great selection of books available. A table tennis table and a slew of other items like a chez lounge, typing tabe, etc. The room has been desiged so you have a lot of space to walk around, they have not tried to pack in loads of furnishings. It's enough to make it cosy and functional. The dinning area downstairs is behind the lung area. As there are three rooms, they have three tables. Each table is setup based on the requirements for the guests staying in the room. We had our baby with us, so our table was prepared with a high chair, a handful of toys and then children's cutlery. This is the kind of nice touches you'll find here. They take care of you like you're family. You can have a big breakfast (full English) or just opt for ceral. The menu is pretty good. The lounge area has a piano and two sofas, which are very comfortable. Jotted around the the room are little trinkets and picture's. Actually the entire house has pictures and drawings up. Do have a look at them as some show historical Cheltenham before things were changed. The lounge is also where you'll find the bar. Filled with a great selection of spirit's and wines. Also the fridge with the soft drinks for the younger folk can be found in the dinning room. You will be greeted by Andy and Alex as soon once you arrive. They are friendly and personable. Lovely people! They will talk you through everything and then show you to your room. The service you get here is nothing short of 5 stars. They make the place work and I can see we'll be back here the next time we want a weeked away. Can I recommend this hotel? Yes!!!! So much so that this is our second vist and definitely not our last.

We were interested in the Assisted Care which was on offer as we required help with my mother in law. The care we used was excellent. In 2022/3 my father in law was diagnosed with Dementia. The Jenner Court manager and staff have gone above and beyond to help with his care needs which have been a life saver for the family. The staff are professional, caring, kind and understanding of not only his but our everyday needs. Without their help it would be very difficult for the family to manage and a care home would have to be considered.
