However, the owner was able to make it right for us on our last nite stay, they offered an upgrade to a Junior Suite with an unobstructed view. This was perfect！ The hotel has a lot of history so don't expect modern furniture or deco. The pillows are ultra soft that have to ask for more. The safe has to be reset to get is working again. The breakfast was really good. Not buffet style, you order all u want from the menu. The older gentleman that served us for 2 mornings was very polite and helpful. The view from the dining room was spectacular!

It is quite expencive, but totaly worth it.

We went out every day exploring the lake and the mountains, swimming in the lake, walking through the nearby gorge, hiring mountain bikes and getting up over the hills, and walking up to the Castle on the hill. Every evening we returned to the hotel and used the health spa. My wife really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi. I enjoyed the gym. We both loved the pool. We went out every night and tried different restaurants for dinner. The paint on the inside in the outside of the doors is peeling. The paint on the exterior is also very grimy. Also, the walls between rooms is quite thin plus if people leave their balcony doors open. Waking up to the serene lake scenery was the only highlight. We were disappointed by the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Our room still had the previous guests water bottles in the fridge and the kettle and coffee machines were both dirty and needed a proper wipe down. The shower has mould along the edges and just not a good look for a 'luxury' hotel. The headboards, chairs, rugs and floors are dusty and corners of the rooms are left to gather dust. Additionally, a pop-up restaurant on-site created a lot of noise and activity late into the evening, making it very difficult to relax or enjoy some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of Bled. While the location is unbeatable for lake views, the issues with cleanliness and noise significantly impacted the experience. After traveling for the last 4 weeks, Bledec has been hands down the best hostel I’ve stayed at. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist made us feel incredibly welcome. The common area downstairs had a great social vibe with a real sense of community. Even when we were checking out, the staff went the extra mile to make sure we knew where we were going and helped us figure out public transportation. Not sure how it has so many good reviews, but it's literally one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in the past 5 years. Wish I just spent the extra money on a legit hotel closer to the lake. Only came here because the reviews were so great, but dishing out an extra 20-30 Euros per night for a better place is worth it.

The rooms were bigger than expected. Every room has a balcony with a great view (train, tunnel, mountains, valley). The house and everything in it is fairly new. The rest of the breakfast could become repetitive if someone stays for more days than we did so mixing up toppings would be my only suggestion for the owner. She is great, helps with everything. We will be back next year with our bikes as she confirmed that storing them would not be a problem. Looking forward to staying here for a whole week next time.
