We chose the Marmot Lodge based on recent reviews and we're not disappointed. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The front desk staff member was very courteous and friendly. Our room was located on the backside of the property, so we weren't bothered by the trains that run through town across the road. The room was very clean, spacious and seemed to be recently renovated. There were two comfortable queen sized beds, along with a separate seating area with two chairs and a small table. There was also a desk adjacent to the TV area. Our children greatly enjoyed the nearby pool and indoor hot tub, although the button to start the jets for the indoor hot tub was temperamental. We didn't venture into the sauna that's located in the pool area. There's also a covered outdoor hot tub as well. We often walked to wherever we were going in Jasper, which was convenient and saved on paying for parking. It's a fairly short walk and our children enjoyed spotting license plates along the way, a game we started on our road trip. The restaurant, Evil Dave's Grill, that's located on the property was amazing as well (I'll write a separate review for that). Make sure to make reservations though, as it's definitely busy. The Starbucks that's also located on the property was typical of a regular Starbucks experience, with the exception of inflated prices. We'd definitely stay at the Marmot Lodge again on future trips.

The room was clean, bathrooms especially, and the kitchen area in the suite room. The suite was the perfect amount of spaciousness. Lots of parking. The pool is a decent size, and there is an outdoor hot tub. There are cubbies to keep your things in within the pool room, and towels are readily available. The view of the mountains from the room was beautiful to wake up to, and the young lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip. We got checked in quick and received complimentary one of the new hotel rooms with a balcony view. Our room was spacious featuring a personalized TV, nice balcony with chairs, a plethora of power outlets and USB a/c ports, and a special chair for baggage along with a small table. A coffee area with many coffee cups was also available. The front of the hotel has a campfire area with seating, and inside there is a pool, hot tub, couch seating, and restaurant with a wide variety of cuisines from Canadian to Indian. Pets were popular here and we requested a non-pet room and we were happy with it. The bed was comfortable but the doors, floors, and walls were pretty thin. The street is generally quiet though. Office Filipino staff were friendly and accommodating, and the young handyman was very nice too. We had an issue with the shower and help came quickly. The location is nice being on the edge of town and just a 15 min walk to the centre. Parking was a little tight so we were happy we had a little car. The toiletries were swanky for a budget hotel. Board games available to borrow from the office and they have a microwave there too. Actually microwaves available on request and we were pleased to find a mini fridge in our room. This place was a little nicer than the Jasper Inn & Suites we stayed at previously, but we might try another place next time, although the price was hard to beat here.

That night we both experienced rashes and very itchy skin, which is only just subsiding, 3 days later! Everything was very clean and staff was very friendly. Beds were super comfortable. I like the fact that it was a bit further from all the hustle and bustle of the noise of downtown. Jasper township is close by car and very quiet compared to Banff.

Parking across the street was not an issue for us. Front desk/check in person was very helpful with answering any questions we had. The room is as noted by other reviews on the small side. The A/C is very noisy but it definitely acts as a white noise against the downtown street noise. The bathroom is on the super tight/small side with just one hook. The shower head is also a hand shower that would just fall of randomly while one was showering. The beds & pillows are comfortable . We were able to figure out space for our bags & luggage with the desk/hangars provided there. Our A/C stopped working randomly and the outlet fell off after the first night. Also as soon as I turned the kettle on, the power to the room went out. Apparently its the way their electrical setup is, that it cant balance load well and they are aware of the issue. They fixed the AC hose issue as well as a loose hanging rack in the bathroom promptly. Overall, their service is great and they do try their best to take care of any issues you are having. But the rooms are small & dated. Also housekeeping will do the bed and replace the towels(even if you hang your towels) but wont clean the bathroom or room.

We had booked a Signal cabin but were offered a Homestead cabin for the same price several days prior to our arrival. It was a very nice unit — we all loved the cabin feel that was cozy but new. The beds were relatively comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. The tv was also nice and we watched a movie after a day of hiking. A few oddities….The kitchen had no dishwasher or paper products of any kind (paper towels/napkins). We only ate breakfast there but it was annoying to hand wash everything and we had to get napkins elsewhere. The view from the balconies was not great — the den and bedrooms overlook a fence on the border of the property with homes on the other side — so we didn’t really spend any time out there. Some of the other types of units face the interior of the property which I think is nicer. The property is convenient to downtown. It’s about a 10 min walk. There’s a washer/dryer ($1.50/wash or dry) and a drying rack to hang dry if you want. We had a great time in Jasper and would definitely stay again.
