The entire family and staff of Casa Sol are incredibly friendly, and helpful with accomodations, even to recommendations and finding places around Old San Juan. Everything is incredibly walkable from here, as it is in the middle of the streets of OSJ. With beautiful rooms, common area, and incredible food, Casa Sol takes care of every aspect you would want in a B&B. I'm absolutely a huge foodie, and Casa Sol delivers some of the best food for breakfast every morning of your stay, with accomodations for any preferences and allergies. The communication is always very easy and open with this amazing family. We were even lucky enough to be offered a private 4 course dinner by Markos, their son. He is a phenomenal chef, and is super friendly, while delivering an incredible meal. This was truly a highlight of our trip, and some of the best food we had.

Agree with all reviewers that location was great! Placita is a walkable distance. Viejo San Juan and beaches are a short Uber ride away (and the Ubers were affordable!) First, it does take a handful of minutes for the water to warm up in the shower--I don't like wasting water to be honest. If I were camping I'd put up with it just fine, but I'm on vacation ya know :) Second, I don't mind having a curtain as a "door" for the bathroom entrance but that didn't fly with my girlfriend because she felt like there wasn't enough privacy. Thirdly, I think it's time for a new bed. The bed is MEGA creaky. Any time you moved in the bed it would creak loudly. If you get up to use the bathroom you are at high risk of waking up others. But you know what? I'd definitely stay at Casa Sevilla. It's a safe area. Good location. Responsive property manager. The patio had trash filled up and candy rwrapper on the table and ground. My friend and I didn't feel comfortable so we called the number given on the reservation and it didn't work. The maintenance guy was gone, so we left and checked in a hotel.

We came early and was able to leave bags at hotel so we could go to the beach(very grateful!) when we did check-in we stayed at the Flamingo penthouse suite, this hotel was amazing!!!!! the room was large with a wonderful patio, kitchen, private bathroom, king and twin bed . The hotel had a rooftop patio above ours for the other rooms so you could meet and get to know people, lots of stairs so if mobility is an issue this is not the place for you but i found the old 1920's home to be beautiful. There was everything you could want in the suite, tip: get a case of water from CVS down the street as the water is 2.00US/bottle and there is only 2 in the room. The place is super clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast is thoughtful with bread, homemade jam, fruit, juice etc.. I want to end with mentioning the woman who runs the hotel, very welcoming, kind and informative, she was willing to make the best it could be, thank you for having us.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights and we really enjoyed our time here. Casa: Super cute and stylish with many fun touches. Lots of great complimentary items available including beach towels , bikes , coolers , books , games , bug spray, sunscreen, Aloe Vera , tea/coffee and water refill station. It is a multi storey home, and the stairs are a bit narrow so prepare for some stair climbing especially if you are in the Flamingo suite or wanting to access the rooftop patio. Definitely wouldn't recommend for those with mobility issue , there is a room on ground level so be sure to check where your room is located. Lots of outdoor sitting areas to enjoy. Laundry facilities available for a nominal fee. Key pads on the front gate and front door , with keys for the rooms , so no concerns for security. Located 2 blocks from the main strip in Condado , 5 mins walk to the beach, quiet at night. Construction next door which can be loud at times during the weekdays. Breakfast: Delicious fresh continental breakfast buffet, lots of fresh fruit , boiled eggs , bagels/toast , cold cuts and cheese , avocados ,jams , cereal, great selection of tea , coffee and juice . If you stay for multiple nights it does get to be alittle repetitive. Staff: The staff are amazing, super nice and are genuinely interested in making your stay as amazing as they can! They are only at the Casa from 9am -4pm with an emergency contact for the off hours . Very responsive to questions and helping make reservations or helping you organize your adventures. The cleaning staff were efficient and quick with a smile. Room: We had the Flamingo suite , which is like a studio apartment on the third floor. Had a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave , a king bed and a twin bed. Bathroom with a large shower . The room was quite large and had plenty of space , beds were comfy . The twin bed is placed alittle awkwardly under the TV so we had to be careful not to knock it. There are 2 AC in the room . The bathroom is good , only thing is that they only have a rainshower head so a bit harder to do just body showers, be careful the floor can be a little slippery in the shower. Don’t book their tours. I did so and the guy texted me the night before, around 10 hours before start time, to say that is cancelled. If you’re only staying one night on the weekend, then you should be able to afford a solo room. Also, based on my experience , those booking one night for the shared room are looking to cruise, which can make the stay uncomfortable; where’s I’ve seen those who book for full weekend they tend to be cool people having a good time looking to meet others without being weird about it. Updating reservations for 2 night minimum stay for the shared rooms on the weekends helps avoid those only looking to cruise while giving a chance for people to book a full weekend at an affordable price. However, the staff is very nice and in general is a good place to stay, but have those couple things that need fixing in my opinion. If they can make those adjustments mentioned above then it can raise to 5 starts.

Maria, the receptionist on the weekends, was absolutely amazing. She takes a lot of pride in her job and giving city details and recommendation. The rooms are comfortable and it's central to everything, almost all walking distance. The neighborhood itself was quiet. We booked the king size bed which was directly in front of the kitchen. Other guests were quiet for the most part, you would be able to hear them otherwise as the walls are thinner. The beds overall were comfortable, I did have to request additional pillows the day after check in, which were quickly given to us. Only feedback I would give it to ensure to use more bleach on sheets as I saw some stains or too rotate sheets more often. But overall we loved it. We will 100% be rebooking here when we come back to the PR.

First, instead of a thousand tiny rooms crammed into an older building the room itself was very spacious and comfortable. There is a common lobby on each floor and where we were on the second floor there was a complete kitchen as well as a working area with desks and pretty speed wi-fi. When we arrived we were greeted enthusiastically and provided a host of information of things to do and see many of which we were not aware of even though we travel to San Juan at least once a month. The person I called was so helpful and it was super late (10pm). She got me a room and while I was getting ready to go to dinner I called back and she was able to get me an iron without even being physically in the inn! The rooms have a lot of dimming lights and the bathroom is separate from the room ( accessed with your own key). Maria the next day was super helpful! She held my suitcases while I traveled to old San Juan and I was able to take a shower even after I checked out. I loved this place! I would def recommend and go back! The staff was pretty friendly and responsive. However, we had a few issues - The main door didn't lock from the inside, the bathroom door didn't lock at all, and the AC unit was leaking water when we tried to turn it off. There was no exhaust inside the bathroom that made it more stuffy and difficult to use. The sofa bed is comfortable but only for a smaller person. There was also some construction going on outside the property and we were able to hear everything inside as there was no proper insulation. The beach is close by (5-7 min walk) and so are a number of restaurants and cafes. The room is comfortable and spacious and was clean for most parts (found a used mascara under the bed though) . Check-in/check-out process is seamless. Doors have entry codes. Cons: They do not pick up the phone, you have to communicate via the app through which you booked and the reply is extremely slow. On the second day of stay, found a baby lizard on the floor next to my bed (the room was on 3rd floor, not on ground floor) and soon after started noticing roaches in the bathroom. They have just 3 parking spaces so it can be difficult finding the parking. He even gave us a couple great recommendations for local spots to get good food/drinks. The portion of the guest house we stayed in had a shared common room, shared kitchen, and shared bathroom. This worked well for us, as we don't mind sharing space with other folks - but may be important to consider if you're looking for more privacy.

The room was so thoughtfully designed and beautiful. The entire property is so relaxing and the staff was incredible. In the morning before going out, we would enjoy a coffee or matcha in the hammock and take an outdoor shower. At night, we could sit outside on the private terrace and hear the coquis. It's one block from a beautiful beach and they provided towels. It's so centrally located to great food and drinks only a short (and cheap) Uber ride away. Great breakfast too from the staff here. This was very appreciated as my boyfriend proposed on this trip so having a suite felt extra special. The staff is extremely kind, and the lobby providing bug spray and other forgotten essentials was a nice touch. The hotel is definitely made for those who are friendly, with the expansive gorgeous communal lounge area, but my Fiancé and I are not friendly, so we didn't spend much time there. The free coffee was good, but I feel for the price of the hotel breakfast should be included. Please note that the outdoor areas are best enjoyed in the daytime, as the mosquitos are very serious when it gets dark outside, unfortunately I got a bite or two using the outdoor restroom. I feel some sort of citronella diffuser really would've helped us enjoy the outdoor patio. We never had issues with parking. Our worst thing about the hotel is the random fee that was added per day after booking! It was completely unexplained and added on at checkout, I believe it was $60 per day? It upped the price of the hotel astronomically and I still don't know what it was for and why it wasn't apart of the advertised room price. It made the room almost out of our budget, but we fell in love with the aesthetic and decided to stay there anyways. Final notes would be a clearer price when booking, citronella diffusers on the patio, and I do very much feel that for the price of our stay, breakfast should have been included. Overall, we loved this hotel and would stay here again.

Our room was located right, literally in the gift shop (Room 7). While I will probably pick a different room the next time I stay, I will say the room was very quiet. I always wonder why hotels have giant tvs. I never turn them on. I'm on vacation. It was nice to lay there with the outside door open and just listen to the beautiful frog sounds of Puerto Rico. I first discovered this hotel through social media, and as my mom is pescatarian I had been wanting to check it out with her since they have a vegetarian based kitchen. We stayed here as part of a family girls trip for my mom's 60th birthday. There were four of us ages ranging 20s-80s. 2 of us stayed in the Duna Suite, and 2 of us stayed in the Traveler Room. Both rooms were beautifully curated, picturesque, and comfortable. In the Duna Suite, we particularly loved the deep stone soaking tub, hammock, and sitting area, and in the Traveler Room we loved the connected patio with sitting area and hammock as well. They also left a sweet birthday note and bottle of sparkling wine in mom's room as a surprise, which was such a thoughtful and meaningful touch! The hotel is located in Ocean Park, and is convenient for walking to restaurants and the beach. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. My mom was able to speak to the chef in the morning for breakfast and enjoyed her conversation with him. The food, particularly the blueberry pancakes, was heavenly! I also loved the artisanal shop and even ordered a couple of items when I returned home. I wish we had more time here, but it was a beautiful way to start our Puerto Rican adventure. When I returned, the staff was incredibly hospitable and kindly rushed me into a different room than the one I booked to help me get settled faster. I didn't love that first room, but on the same day, the concierge texted me and was able to switch me into a room that was much more my style, Unit #2, free of charge—which was amazing service! ​Unit #2 in the front of the property is really nice and features a unique outdoor space with a soaking tub. Though they have two pull-down shades for privacy from the street, I felt they might need a third shade to fully block the view if you were to use the tub. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the tub anyway because the island was experiencing a water shortage during my stay, which also caused the property to have low water pressure (a trickle) one night. This wasn't the property's fault. ​A note on the common area: They have two public bathrooms with showers which is an amazing feature. This means if your room isn't ready when you arrive, or if you check out at 11:00 AM but have a late flight (like I did), you can easily take a shower after walking around all day to freshen up before heading to the airport. ​The common area also has a wonderful kitchen. I had breakfast once, an omelet and a mango blueberry smoothie, and it was delicious. The menu changes daily, and shoutout to Ed and Hugo were super attentive. By the way it was fun hearing what you guys were planning for breakfast the next day. ​A crucial note for travelers: There are very friendly resident cats that hang out in the front yard and may approach guests. I loved them, but if you have pet allergies or prefer not to interact with cats, please be aware that you might encounter them near the entrance. I also believe the hotel allows dogs for a fee. So if your dog is not cat friendly, please be aware of that as well. ​My only suggestion for Unit #2 would be to add a mosquito net to block any open overhead spaces from the outside to the inside area where the sink is. Often there are power outages in Puerto Rico, but I’ve experienced none in my 3 days here. The unit (7) stays relatively cool and when cooler air is needed the AC works wonderfully. The location is beyond ideal. We’re minutes from Castillo De San Cristobal, tons of eateries, a supermarket, nightlife, and of course the ocean. The only negative during my stay include the toilet not being able to flush for maybe an hour (not the host’s fault and was fixed promptly), no hot water in the kitchen, and we spotted a cockroach. We didn’t mind no hot water, as we are out. We understand, also, that pests are inevitable in this climate and with homes being attached. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone looking to rent during vacation.

Keira and Keila were wonderful hosts. They added on several nights on a moment's notice. The rooms were affordable and quite cozy. Great AC! Easy access to all that Old San Juan has to offer. I highly recommend booking this airbnb if you like colonial style views and Puerto Rican culture at it source. We did not have any issues with safety, the locals speak English, and they cater to tourists very well. Great time!
