So was looking for a good place to stay with a good view in Shimla. This hotel was one of THE MOST expensive options and i assumed it would be a great experience. Please refer to my photos for proof of how lousy this place is and what a scam they’re running.. The first photo is of the couch/bench and it has stains all over it - AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A 5 STAR FACILITY The second photo is that of a dirty napkin my food came in… stains and smelly The third photo is of toast that was delivered without any butter or jam. By the time those came everything was soggy The fourth photo is of the floor, dirty with abrasions.. Fifth photo is of the carpet and don’t know if you can make out how utterly dirty and unclean it was.. Sixth photo of the window and there were dead bugs Seventh photo of a chest of drawers that was stuck and wouldn’t open or close The next three photos are of the view from the window which was pretty no doubt The last photo is of the ice bucket i was given… what a bruised, battered and awful shape it was it AND unclean THIS WAS OVERALL A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE and what made it worse was HOW EXPENSIVE it was… I have seen 2 star hotels with better hygiene and service… The ONLY good part i remember is the people at front desk who were kind and polite… Please find a better place to stay rather than this overpriced accommodation…

Despite repeated and humble requests to accommodate us a bit earlier — especially since my elderly mother was struggling with leg pain — the staff refused to show any flexibility or even attempt to prep a room faster. We were forced to wait for over five hours in the lobby, watching the staff walk around indifferently, while my mother sat there clearly in discomfort. The front desk team was shockingly rude and dismissive, with an attitude that made it clear they didn’t care one bit about guest welfare. This hotel has clearly forgotten the meaning of hospitality. Conveniently located on mall road great food and beer is in the property no reason for you to dine out.howevervthat same convenience becomes frustrating when the loud noise from the restaurant makes its way to the rooms specially 201 with woofer vibration. They stop at 11pm the loud music and on weekends around 12 but till then either you can be part of the fun or try getting your younger one to sleep. Has its own lift from the parking but it has good 2-3 floors of stairs and not to mention 50₹ porter charges from parking to the hotel. Still I would recommend go to this hotel as it's good if you can ignore the above things or live with it as we learnt. 2nd time visit

As the story goes, this temple was originally built in the vicinity of Rothney Castle on the Jakhoo Hill, in the year 1845, by a Bengali Brahmin Priest, Ram Charan Brahamchari but the British shifted the location of the temple to the Bantony Hill. Based on our travels through India in recent years, the room was very good, clean and very comfortable beds so had great nights sleep. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent (we were half board) it was as good as anywhere we have eaten and better than most. The staff were all polite and attentive. Negatives: English channels very limited as no Smart TV's. The walk to the centre of Shimla is very steep (taxis are available at the hotel). The heating in the dining area wasn't on during one evening of our stay so it was cold in there, suggest layering clothing or eat in room if this is the case. Would we stay again? Definitely! If you want hygiene, service, and working basics… maybe not. ⭐ Rating: 2.5/5 (Half star only for taste of food, other 1 star for comedy show by staff). 1 star to few staff members who tried best to resolve complaints by taking corrective action but overall I am expecting lots of space for preventive actions so won't try or recommend this hotel again ever. We had a very good experience at snow valley heights. One can see the whole Shimla city from the room's balcony and at night time it's really look beautiful. The standout part for me was their food. Hotel rate is very much on higher side. It's possible to get good hotels at rate lower than it. Wifi is not available in room on 4th floor, for this you will have to go to 5th floor reception. It all started at the reception when a group of teenagers / young men behind the desk (we suppose they work for the hotel) laughed at us amongst themselves when we asked about our booking. We had made our reservation on booking.com but there was no trace of it until a rude receptionist called the owner. We were then given the choice of two rooms of EXTREMELY POOR cleanliness. Absolutely shocking amount of dust and dirt in the corners of the rooms. The bathroom was unhygienic with very dirty floor and sink. The sole bath towel of the room had already been used and showed blood stains. Internet connection is non-existent. DO NOT BELIEVE THE NAME OR PICTURES of the rooms you will see on internet / Booking.com (as they obviously rely on these to attract customers) nor the comments about supposedly very helpful staff. This is all completely untrue and staff is totally disrespectful and useless. After 2 years of no tourism activity you think they would want to make up for it... But no. Thanks for reminding us what low hospitality standards look like 👍

The approach is very steep steps... the room was very small and dirty and that too after they had generously upgraded it...no fan,no room amenities...very poor lighting so as to hide its unclean linen, bathroom curtain and general cleanliness... Overall its not a good deal for the price being charged...so unless and untill you don't get any other alternate option,only then you should go for it else it is totally avoidable...!!
