Everything was well explained and the staff was friendly. The wet area (Turkish bath, sauna & jacuzzi) had nice and modern equipments and was clean. Some things were broken (clothes hooks) and some part of the walls could use a fresh coat of paint to give the place a higher-end feel. The area was very small and the high temperature, high level of humidity in such a small space was a bit much after a while. We stayed there for 1h30 before our masseuse arrived. We had to wait for each other because there was only one masseuse. So total, we each spent almost 2h30 in the wet area, it was too much for us. The hotel is located in a very touristic part of the town so there was a lot of noise. The staff was lovely and the masseuse was very good at her job, so that part I would recommend.

We ended up getting 1 luxury suite and 1 “upgrade” to an apartment type room (advertises as a 2 person max room) that had 1 bedroom, a living room with 2 couches and 2 bathrooms. After we checked in we talked to the front desk staff and we were told this was an upgrade because it costs more (the logic here is kind hard to follow…). AND, at the time we were “upgraded,” it was not disclosed to us that there would be a 30% price increase per night for the 3rd person (who slept on a couch). We had multiple conversations with the front desk staff about our unhappiness with the room and were never offered a discount OR offered the room we reserved. Building/Location - It’s a great location IF you plan to stay up late. The rooms are advertised as soundproof but you can hear (very clearly) everything going on out on the street. The building and rooms are also in need of repairs…most of our bathrooms had peeling paint and mold in the showers. When we mentioned this to the front desk staff we were told, “no they don’t” even when presented with pictures. In addition to the mold there was a list of other things that needed attention in the rooms and building…too many things to list! Staff/Services - The front desk staff weren’t really focused on our experience (good or bad) and it felt as though they just hoped we’d go away. They often argued our feedback and leaned heavily on their perspective being right and ours being wrong. We used the laundry service while there and were reassured 2 times that if we got it in by a certain time we would have it back same day. Laundry didn’t get returned until the following day. The breakfast staff and the cleaning staff were amazing! Price/Overall - I would put this hotel in the category of a glorified hostel at luxury prices. We travel a lot and don’t need perfect…if some of the issues we encountered were one-offs, it wouldn’t feel like such a terrible experience. There are other options close by that are still centrally located but away from the market (smell), late night crowds (loud) and potentially run by staff who are focused on working on solutions with their customers instead of gaslighting their customers.

We were upgraded on arrival from a Deluxe room to a suite which was impeccable with amazing features like the sauna shower and spacious living room/sofa area. Every little detail had been clearly thought through and we'd have loved to have stayed longer if we didn't have other travel plans and accommodation booked in afterwards. All staff were incredibly warm and welcoming and breakfast was amazing. So much choice and really high quality food and service. Would 100% stay again if visiting Catania.

My husband and I prefer to travel by rented car when vacationing so we tend to dress very casually so we are comfortable. We had been driving about 2 hours when we arrived to this hotel and were immediately not approved of by the receptionist. We ignored her snarkiness, stated we wanted to visit the pool, verified hours with her and went to our room to change. Came down to the pool, no complaints with the pool or the restaurant staff we asked about hours. We were told we couldn’t have towels due to not having a “token” but we got in the pool anyways. No one could explain this “token” situation We met another group of 6 Americans and started chatting. They were discussing the displeasure of how rude the staff was at the front desk and everyone agreed both groups were thankful we were all only staying one night. We were all sitting around the pool watching their baby swimming and chatting and they decided to close the pool at 5:50 PM, no excuse me we are closing, they just started roping it off starting directly behind us so the 9 of us scrambled to get out of their way. We left and went back to our room soaking wet because again…no token. Discovered our “Garden View” Room was a wall. We got dressed up for dinner, thinking maybe that would change the chilly welcome from the staff. Walked in to a very rude server, I asked for a Cosmopolitan and she snapped at me and said “You speak English, what do put in this Cosmopolitan”. I explained and she didn’t say a word and walked away, never got the Cosmopolitan or a response. About 10 minutes later a VERY nice younger gentleman came by to get drink orders, we just ordered some wine. It was OK. Ordered dinner, this guy continued to treat us very nicely (I think his name was Alex or Nathan but I could be wrong, it had been a long two weeks). We left dinner and went back to our “Garden View” room to sit on the balcony. We attempted to store some waters in the fridge but the fridge was moldy. I wanted to take a shower but it wasn’t working properly and I needed to rinse the day off, the bathtub plug didn’t work so I shoved a washcloth down in the drain to have some water to shave my legs (I am writing this review as the wife of the account holder) The grab bars were also wobbling out of the wall. We left around 0345 the next morning. Same treatment from the desk, very condescending and snippy. Would not recommend at all. Been in Italy for weeks, never experienced this level of rudeness from the rest of the kind people here. See attached pics and video of safety issues in bathroom with grab bars, toilet wasn’t flushing right and mold in the fridge. Clean up your mold and safety issues especially before someone gets hurt, I care for the elderly as a nurse and that can lead to a devastating fall.
