Both the bar and restaurant staff were super friendly! The room was clean and nice, but the bed needed a new mattress and some new sheets that actually fit on the bed. The beach was fantastic! The chairs and umbrellas are rentals from a vendor. They are easy to rent and well worth the money. The biggest disappointment was the front desk staff. They definitely need a refresher course on what it means to be in the hospitality industry. Other than the friendly Navy vet who checked us in and out, we were met with such rude eye-rolling attitudes. A smile and some eye contact with your guests goes a long way towards making them feel valuable. Remember that without your guests, you have no jobs.

While the resort is a touch antiquated, they have really made the best of it. The rooms are updated on the interior, clean and well equipped. The larger hotel fridge AND sink was a bonus! We stayed in the beach tower and the exterior hallways could use a good pressure wash. Now, the PEOPLE!! From Tonya at the front desk, David at the lobby bar, Kelsey at the Upper Deck, and Andreas at breakfast....EVERYONE we encountered was nice, welcoming, and super friendly!! Checking in was seamless, the resort credit daily give-back was nice, and even the food at Upper Deck was a win!! Family pool was warmer and sea side pool was cooler. The beach is the main attraction here. Most of the staff were polite and friendly. One staff member at the front desk was a bit unfriendly and abrupt on day of checkout even though it wasn't busy. The folks at the only open restaurant, the Upper Deck, were great and food was good. The interior courtyard grounds were well kept and very nice. The other guests were quiet and respectful. Calling this hotel "newly renovated" is simply untrue in our experience. The room we stayed in was run down. Lights didn't work properly. Bathroom showed signs of wear and water damage to the door that caused the door to close poorly. The carpet needed a thorough cleaning. Common areas are much darker than they are portrayed in photos. The ceiling tiles in the hallways were broken and sagging in some places. Exterior cleaning and painting are needed. The restaurant near the lobby appears to be permanently closed. Overall it was a serviceable base to call home for a few days but not up to Marriott standards.

Also the path to beach has sign for no public access but people were coming thru the pool area to go to the beach and they weren't guests. Third of all, we had a decent stay most of the trip but on 11/16 we noticed that my husband and I were both experiencing breathing problems. My husband hasn't had breathing problems since he was a child. We left the room to get food and get some fresh air to see if we can pinpoint the source of our breathing problems. We came back to the room at around 1pm and noticed a very strong mildew smell in the room. We also noticed that our towels that have been hanging for up for 12 hours have not been dried yet. We packed up our stuff and went down to the front desk as both of our breathing problems got worse. We went down to the front desk, and they did offer to put us in another room for the night but we didn't want to risk having one of us end up in the hospital due to the new room having the same problem. We inquired about a refund for the night we did not stay and are still waiting on a response from the Manager to where that could be granted. This location is not near the beach but like a good 10-15 drive down by the beach. The beds are not comfortable and thw water pressure is bad.

The staff was vey rude and under trained. We paid a deposit and the clerks still charged us full room rate and said they could not find our deposits. I've been going to this hotel for three plus years a great find. I had an experience this time like no other had a few hiccups the staff helped me through all of it and Jen is a great employee for this company. You can you can chill out in the pool or sit out on a patio area do a little grilling look out on the bay it's very relaxing. You're close to the airport you're close to Walmart you're close to Publix just about everything you need is within three to five miles if you ever go to Fort Walton you ought to stop in and check them out as satisfy customer.

But they've changed the wrist bands to silicone bands with sensors to open and close the gates. The problem is everyone is required to wear them, even children. But the bands didn't fit our children. Our room was spacious and clean on arrival! It was easy to navigate parking and getting to our condo. The resort is also in close proximity to Destin, and we actually avoided any traffic when going towards Destin. Staff was kind and made sure we had everything we needed! The pools are a MUST at the resort. They have three different ones and a lazy river. Even though it gets crowded, it kept my kids busy and happy the whole time. The resort is on the beach and just a short walk there. The pool area has a little tiki area with food and overpriced drinks (although I wouldn’t expect anything less at a resort pool). Nonetheless, the drinks were yummy and we bought several! If you are looking for the perfect family resort, THIS is it! If you are looking for a quaint adults only resort, keep looking elsewhere. My boyfriend and I loved the view and the balcony. The only problem with the balcony was that someone was smoking a cigar at the pool, and the bad smell rose to the 5th floor balcony where I was trying to enjoy the ocean view. I asked about the charge and was told that it was just the owner charging to park. The owner squeezing every penny they can from the guests. $10 charge for parking even on checkout day! Could have given a discount since we weren't going to be there after 11am, but still charged the full day for parking. The room charge was discounted on the last day, parking should have been discounted too, since we didn't use the whole day of parking.

While my mother was in the bathroom i saw GIANT roach climb ontop the vanity of the sink. I promptly killed it and brushed it off as a one off as we're from new orleans and know in cold weather they sometimes come out. Unfortunately it was not the case. The following night after eating our dinner, i noticed movement underneath the sink vanity where the trashcan was. To my horror there were atleast 15 baby german cockroaches crawling on the floor around our trashcan. I told my mother about it, she proceeds to go kill several of them. As she walks back to her bed, 2 larger ones arise from behind the tv. Yall im tellin you im not makin this up. At this point i'm thinking the worst having stayed there for several days at this point. We need to leave, NOW. I head to the lobby after packing all of our luggage and tell the person on shift about the problem. I am told the management will take care of everything and was promptly explained to how the person on shift did not have the ability to refund us, and that the manager would issue a full refund. They did not look nor sound surprised about the roach pictures which was a bit disturbing. I proceed to drive home with my mother in the vehicle, and it's 4 1/2 hrs to new orleans. We arrive arround 5-6 am and go to sleep. I wake up the next day November 13, and call the hotel. Manager is not in, call tomorrow. November 14, Call the hotel again. Manager is in, but in a meeting. I say thats fine i would appreciate if they gave me a call back. I give the person on the phone my Name and number for a callback and never receive anything. Same day i call back around 3-4pm, and am told the manager is not in, but they are not able to issue a refund because i had booked with expedia. Next day November 15th in the morning i call expedia and start the refund process. I am told by expedia after an hour on the phone that they need to reach out to the hotel to confirm the refund. The agent calls while i am on hold, and doesnt recieve an answer. He says that they will escalate the situation and their team will reach out to the hotel in the morning. November 16th, Refund declined notification. I contact expedia and they said their team had got in contact with management at the hotel, and the management had declined their request for refund. I Type ALL OF THIS to say, PLEASE. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUISENESS. This whole situation was such an incredible head ache, that i will most likely never book with this hotel chain again in my life. My mother and i went in November during an off time, unfortunately while there was a cold front, and this is what we experienced. DO NOT have your summer vacation ruined by roaches and terrible customer service.

This hotel is dated. The manager said it will be getting renovated January 2026. However, the room was clean and the beachfront and pool area were amazing. The hotel shares common space with the next door Holiday Inn Resort. We were able to use their pool and amenities to have a change of scenery. There was a DJ by the pool each afternoon. The Tiki bar was also lots of fun! We didn't try breakfast as we brought our own food. I would 100% return to this hotel. It has a 1mil dollar view of the ocean.

A bit aggravated about 1130pm and we could hear the bass from the music outside our room from the courtyard area. I called to complain as we could hear the bumping bass OVER our tv and air conditioner. We were trying to relax and the music noise was very annoying... Another awesome adventure on our bucket list experienced. I can't describe how much fun we had here at the Beal House on Oskaloosa beach in Destin/ Ft Walton. Perfect time to come in the season, ( Sept ) perfect staff, hotel so clean and bright, beautifully decorated rooms, perfect beach, perfect water, perfect place to stay. I usually have a complaint about something. No complaints here. Sitting on our balcony we just saw 2 dolphins enjoying their morning swim fairly close to the shoreline. Although I got no pics, there are orange and yellow butterflies flying around us all day attracted by the flowers in the dunes. Since Englund Air Force Base has such a huge footprint there, military helicopters and plane flyovers are seen all day. We saw a C-130 flyover when we were leaving. Took our last stroll along the beach. The Hotel is right on the beach. Our balcony room overlooking the beach was perfect. First day we spent on the beach the sand is bright white and does not get hot.. For around a hundred dollars including tip we rented 2 comfort lounge chairs, and umbrella and a table. The operator set it all out. We swam and lounge. You can buy drinks at the Remedy. I had a really yummy Pina Colada. The water was perfect. Had a fantabulous time. The next day after our beautiful morning stroll along the beach, we ubered to the boardwalk, ate some tacos, bought some souvenirs, and spent some time on the awesome Island pier watching some folks spool in their catches and saw a dolphin. There is a 2 dollar fee each to walk on the pier and I believe 8 dollars to fish. We were told is a great fishing area. We ubered back and spent the rest of the day in the pool. The Boardwalk is walking distance, however we chose to Uber for 10 bucks with tip. Since we flew, there was no 15 dollar a day parking fee. The Uber trip from the airport was 30 with tip. The rooms provide bath soap, shampoo, cond and lotion in those full size bottles attached to the wall which is so convenient. I only had to bring a few toiletries with me on the plane. The Remedy Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are restaurants across the street from the hotel and on the boardwalk. Everything we ate at the Remedy was delicious and reasonably priced. We super highly recommend this hotel and location.

Austin was very polite and professional. He got us a room and waived the parking fee for us since we were getting in late and hadn't planned on being here. He asked me if I had a Hilton account and I didn't think I did. He looked for me anyways and it turns out that I had a membership and it reduced the cost of my stay! My only criticism was that there was a door near our room on the third floor, I think it was to the stair well or something. Every time it closed it would slam loudly. This location I booked a room, checked in, went to the room and IMMEDIATELY came back downstairs and told them the room was disgusting, dirty, and had bugs(roaches). A month later and this location is still refusing the refund stating that I checked in early and a fee was waived that I was never informed of, when I asked was there a fee I was told no. The saying holds true about you get what you pay for. We didn’t have any issues but it was loud after midnight and there were some not so savory people that were hanging around but no one bothered us. There is no breakfast but dogs are allowed for a daily fee. Slim Chickens is literally across the street and was really really good! It’s not a far car ride or even walk to a lot of stuff in the area. Roh checked me in and she was quite the delight and was very helpful. Our warm water stopped working so that was a let down but the pool is in a back area that has no exit so it makes the property a lot more private which I loved because I had a dog during my stay. The rooms are generally in good shape and the kitchens stocked appropriately. This time, the dishwasher was not properly installed so it tipped outward when the top rack was pulled out. The beach chairs and umbrellas were acceptable though we had to walk to the very ends of the row to get one - not because the others were full but because the middle section was full of reserved chairs that were hardly ever occupied. My daughter came recently and she and her husband were told by the beach attendant that they were not on the list and could not use their own beach chairs and that they could “purchase” usage directly with him. They checked with the front desk and were told that was not the policy and that they would look into the issue. They were on the list the rest of the week but who knows how many people paid for chairs and umbrellas that they already paid for. The biggest complaint which has come up every time we have been here (at least 3 times) is that there is always someone near us smoking which causes us to have to go in and not enjoy the balcony. We have called the office every time and are always told it would be addressed but it is not. This time has been the worst with someone smoking cigars. It feels like the front desk is obligated to tell us that they are going to address the problem but they don’t seem to since the smoking continues. I can’t say that any of the other resorts are any better at enforcing smoking policies but we will definitely be trying out other places since The Breakers does not seem to be doing anything proactive.

Well I called the police and they told me they get alot of calls for the manager bring aggressive and the drug infested people that he rents room out too. The location is great and close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The parking is a bit tough but luckily they have an overflow lot. The room was nice but could have been cleaned better. The fixtures of the sink area were dirty and loose and need repair. The shower head also could be replaced because the water was going everywhere due to the showerhead. And the crescent shower rod wasn't secured well to the wall which made the curtain not stay closed. But the room was good for the price, the appliances worked well and the beds were comfy. And the staff was great and friendly. The manager was lovely and helpful with all the request I had. Would definitely stay here again.

Upon our arrival, the outside didn't look all that impressive, but looked decent. We walked into the lobby, which was very nice and well maintained. We checked in and went up to our room. This general manager accused me of a having skin issue and my skin must be giving off an odor. Again, another lie I have no skin issues and never had any issues besides acne as a teenager. My wife and other massage therapists have verified I have no skin issues. The manager did pull my file and did notice that out of all the massage therapists over the many years that not one documented case that I had body odor, skin issues, or any issues for that matter. Only Rhonda in over 10 years of getting massages has accused me of having body odor and skin issues. Also, I was able to confirm with the massage therapist that I have had for several months now I don’t have any body odor or skin issues. Also, I found out this store currently doesn’t have a general manager any more, so the general manager accusing me of having skin issues by a lying massage therapist no longer over sees this store since he either got fired or quit. You definitely want to drive to the correct one! This place is in a great location having a 2 minute walk to a delicious nearby sushi place for some late night snacks. Overall we had a very peaceful stay here. It definitely did the job for a quick weekend getaway at the beach. Would stay here again in FWB!
