They’re running the biggest scam making it seem like some great resort. They put you in the worst room possible and promise an upgrade just for it to be two buildings over and if you want a relaxing hot shower there’s no hot water. Then they practically Bully you into signing up for a package they start at 6k then they can someone get this great deal at 3K they promise you all this exclusiveness with a gold VIP wrist band. The shuttle only comes 25 minutes and we rarely saw it to top it off if you have someone with mobility issues DO NOT book here because they’re not accommodating. When you call reception they give you the run around. They give you this great treatment when you sign up then you have a “concierge” that does nothing directs you to reception or VIP services etc. I’m an avid traveler and this has been the worst service I have ever experienced and I own multiple time shares. Will NEVER stay here ever and can’t wait until we check out!

The front desk staff were good at explaining the details. The only negative thing about this resort is that you have to wait more than 25 minutes for the shuttle to arrive due to the massive area. My brother in law wanted to upgrade his room and pay for it and they couldn't fin the reservations it was made right there. It took them 2 days to help him. It's crazy how you want to spend more money on them to get a better room and they make it so imposible for the client. They close buffet and restaurant at the worst time. They don't do restaurants reservations on Sunday, they only open the only 2 buffet restaurants they have. So much stuff I can say but it's really sad I went with family and all of us 40 members feel the same about this resort. Will never go and will never recommend it. Almost forgot, transportation is a joke, they have a bus coming around every 50 minutes, everything is far and super hard to move around.

We went to a bar to get mocktails ( drinks without alcohol) and we were served alcohol. It’s against our religion to drink as Muslims. Trying to make the best of it but it’s hard😭 one of the 3 rooms the ac is broken and stuck on blast my parents called repeatedly for them to fix they never came. The hot water stopped working in the showers. They expect you to drink water from bottles they refill themselves, we had to order water bottles from outside the resort. There’s no beach service no drinks on the beach. You ask for something to be done or fixed and they pacifier you with an okay but never get it done. Overall would definitely never come back. The golf carts are available to rent, however you must take a tour of the entire resort first, which is a waste of vacation time. There was one receptionist at the Mexican Restaurant who was extremely rude to my sister for no reason. The minute we mentioned that we had reservations she grilled us and said “No you don’t” and prompted a back and forth as we’ve been extremely patient despite their terrible attitudes. Casino bartenders are money hungry and will not even look at you if cash is not in your hand. Also beds are hard and pillows are almost like rocks. everyone in our group had some sort of issues with their rooms, some had to change rooms more then once. Vents covered in bust and mold, careful when blasting a/c in rooms end up with a sore throat or cold. food was alright only on buffet and the only great part of it was the lady making omelets she was the best and food was great from her. best part was watching birds walk over the buffet and eat as we sat. the last night they advertised a BBQ by the beach and that was a lie just for advertising and end up being sea food or Chinese food at their sit down places, lets just say I ended up puking most the last night. overall we had fun cause we had a party there and friends and family but overall the 4.6 rating for this place is not real id say 3 at best. casa marina was better. I would not return cause nothing standing out to bring me back.

The beach is perfect and it’s everything one would need. The food was excellent and the live music by the beach + dinner was so much fun. Great place for families, couples or even singles. It's a beautiful Resort. Very clean. Our housekeeper was amazing. We did find the buffet to be extremely repetitive. Food always cold. One time the lady told me to go back to my seat and somebody will come. Which they never did. Left the restaurant many times without even a coffee for breakfast. There wasn’t too much going on and it felt like there was a lot of lost potential/they stopped caring. The rooms were decent although the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and we rarely had hot water. The bartenders at most of the bars gave off very cold and annoyed vibes and the staff at the snack bar almost acted like we were ruining their day by just existing. I would go out of my way not to inconvenience the staff by asking too much, but even asking for a drink to be non alcoholic would seem like an annoying request to them. As a matter of fact, they recommend you to enjoy the pool instead of the beach. The service received at all restaurants, the bartenders, the front desk, the cleaning staff was great. We are absolutely devastated for it to be closing at the end of April. It's the perfect location, perfect size and the food is always so good! I remembered him from our last trip and his infectious smile and "happy happy!" tag line didn't no unnoticed! Also, another gentleman named Carlos who works at the front and assists with guests coming/going/taking bags to and from their room was phenomenal. He was so kind and hustled to ensure all our bags (including my husband's "precious" golf clubs) were delivered safely to our room. We genuinely love every single thing about this place and haven't had a complaint either time we've been.

I'm allergic to mold and this room although quiet was on the shade side from the sun, and I had to use my puffers. The maids did a good job and we have no complaints for their services. A mini fridge is provided with pop, beer and bottled water on daily bases. They also provide safes in your room with a deposit. Our balcony was nice to sit and relax on. Food was good, fresh, hot and plenty to select from. Bar service was excellent. Bar tenders are friendly and awesome. Pool could use more maintenance from grass and other debris floating around on daily bases. We found all workers were very polite and happy. The entertainment and activies were lacking during our stay. Bingo should provide gifts to children as well as adults. Adults prizes were rum or/and coffee. Great prizes for adults. Music was too quiet and often "elevator music" was played at the pool. The ocean is a short walk and very clean and well monitored by security. I would return a 3rd time.

The rooms are outdated one hinge fell off during our stay. No umbrella offered it rained daily. If you have a baby there are no changing tables at any of the bathrooms this was my main complaint. There is a crazy amount of birds everywhere. On two ocassions multiple cats interrupted our buffet meal. No room service except with royal package. The only access to the vintage vip bar was through stairs we had to lift our stroller up and down 🥴 Other than that the food was great the AC and water pressure was good. The staff was great and the premium drinks too. The beach area with premium package was amazing and my favorite part along with the food. Would not return again though.

Villa was very clean, a little dated, not too bad. WiFi was not working. In order to get WiFi, we had to go outside and get closer to the neighboring villa. Lukewarm showers. Ocean water was warmer than the pool water, we would guess the pool had to be in the upper 70s. There was a “hot tub” that was actually a cold tub. The 6 seater golf cart that was supplied to us (Golf cart #044), ran very rough. We would have to get off of the cart and push it up hills. We complained about it, 3x, they said the mechanic came around and said there was nothing wrong with it. We even asked to have our golf cart switched out, which fell upon deaf ears. The map they supply you with of the resort, you need a magnifying glass to read it. Very hard to maneuver around the resort. Up until the last two days we were there it was a battle to get enough bottled water. Our villa was a 7 bedroom villa, you’re using bottled water for a lot. Making coffee, brushing your teeth, etc. More than 1.5 bottles of water per person does not suffice. Also, a serious language barrier problem.

The beach was about a 5 min walk away but there is a shuttle that can take you to and from the beach. The location of the beach may not be convenient for everyone but me and my fiance found it quite nice to be able to walk back and forth to the beach and not have everything right there. The food at the beach bar was just alright but the bartender at the beach bar was phenomenal! Back on the resort, the food at the buffet was delicious and there was lots of variety! We had dinner at the Italian restaurant on one of the nights but we both actually preferred the buffet. There is a little coffee shop near the main lobby area which is a great addition to the resort. Wifi is free and the connection is strong pretty much everywhere. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we will definitely return here if we come back to Puerto Plata!
