The price included a night's stay in one of the bridal suites, the use of three beautiful function rooms, canapes, three courses, and an open bar with a very generous selection of drinks. The staff were incredibly helpful in the lead up and on the night. Nothing was too difficult. The food was fantastic, and the beautiful and historical rooms/building added so much to the night. The Craig's worked directly with our suppliers to pull everything off seamlessly. They were more than happy for us to pop in frequently in the lead up to check the space again and work over floor plans. The original features, with period decor, high ceilings, fire places, tiled floors, grand stair case, and tapestries provided an elegance and sophistication that really couldn't get anywhere else at the price they offer. It looks impressive on the outside but my room was dismal. I stayed for two nights and am an Accor member. The receptionist was helpful and pleasant on arrival, however the woman who was there on departure was not friendly at all. The main issue was the room and entry to the rooms in my block….the entryway was filthy and badly needed a vacuum. The windows both at entry and in my room were dirty and smeared. My room was very basic, frayed blinds, cheapest possible toilet paper, cheap teabags and the art on walls and above my bed was cheap and nasty. I had stayed the previous night before arriving at Ararat Motor Inn for $150 per night and it was spotless, a coffee pod machine was available, along with a side table, lounge chairs and a sofa. All in excellent condition and so much more comfortable. The bathroom was also better, with plenty of counter space. I didn’t use the restaurant or other facilities. I would never recommend your accommodation in Ballarat. I certainly expected much more form Mercure. All glitz on exterior but very disappointing on interior.

We stay here regularly but the restaurant now closes at 8.30pm & the bar too. As an International hotel, this is unacceptable. When we notified the staff they said they knew about the leak!? Our welcome drinks were limited to a 'pot'...normally a schooner would be offered. Room service is non existent. You have to order then walk to the restaurant to pick up. I stayed in Room 61 and if you value good sleep, be careful booking here. The mattress was actually two single beds joined together, sinking on one side while the other side felt like it was sliding off. I asked for a replacement, but the new mattress was even worse because it was sinking in, completely lopsided, and offered no proper support at all. After two nights I woke up with neck pain and back pain that lasted the entire day, and I am still feeling it after checking out. Mercure really needs to fix this because a hotel stay should not leave guests in pain. Mercure needs to address this. No sight of being vacuumed with debris around and apparently it was not regularly mopped and there were ants too. First impressions of the park were great, looked lovely and clean with great facilities and amenities and then we noticed the dump station, RIGHT AT OUR DOORSTEP! Sitting there out in the open in an old flaking paint timber outhouse. So wondering how on earth could you call that site PREMIMUM! I do hope that with all the works going on at other sites you have included shifting the dump station, and fixing the potholes would be great too. I am sure you do have all this in the pipe line but we won’t be booking and paying for a premium site again.

I was looking forward to coming to relax on the couch and enjoy a movie night with my kids and partner but unfortunately we were not able to that and were able to do this more comfortably at our own house all kids bedrooms were up on the second floor witch I did not quiet get and there were no baby gates at the top or bottom of the stairs the type of money these places do make is incredible and the fact I payed 300$ and somthing per night was a let down comparing to other 300$ accmodations ive walked into and have gone wow look at this to be fair the staff members were reasonably nice except one I dont know her name tho they were happy to come back to clean but upon further inspection going to get cooking utensils of course was dirty also need up finding a wrapper of a chocolate left in one of the draws to think I wont be refunded or compensated in any way either is really poor not to mention also if its raining you can't go out and sit under cover on the patio because there is nothing covering it so what is the point in having a table and 2 chairs there definitely very let down and I dont think I could possibly go back to this place definitely not with my family also to lock and unlock the door from the inside you need to yous the key witch is a massive saftey problem considering if there was a fire and you can't find your key you only have afew seconds before the door handle becomes to hot to touch or what if you can't find keys your literally trapped inside as there is no safe escape route all together i am very dissapointed and upset about this as we dont get away alot and think after this time I dont think we will go away was a once in a while trip just to be let down and ripped off big time please consider this review before booking wish I had of looked myself have been afew other reviews that were not good either BTW the lady who checked us out was unconcerned about the reason of our early departure bye bye 900$ for a uncomfortable time 😓 walls were filthy aswell

It was a great find. It's an old hotel, tastefully renovated and marketed as a boutique. They've done a good job of emphasising the inherent class of the establishment. The amenities were all very nice, clean and decent sizes. Laundry was all very reasonably priced. Children had an absolute ball, indoor heated pool nice & big with a small splash zone for littlies. Jumping pillow, playgrounds and sandpits were all a hit and we made daily visits to the local chickens to give them some scraps. We attended in the school holidays where they did an activity each day for the children & a movie night each night. Was fantastic, will definitely be coming back.

Loved the off leash billabong for Sunny to swim & run around in. Our dog friendly cabin was spacious & a small fenced in area at the back of the cabin, which overlooked the wetlands. Walks in the wetlands were peaceful & lots of birdlife to watch & listen to. Loved the under cover pool & spa, enjoyed a peaceful swim & relaxing time in there. Lots of big fenced areas for caravans & cars & dogs. No need to bring your own fencing when travelling with dogs. Overall a lovely caravan park with a touch of European looking cabins & lots of trees & flowers & shrubs. We will definitely come back if in the area again!

It's pretty underwhelming in terms of style, but the beds are comfortable, and the view was nice. If we had a do over, we would book a hotel in town and travel to the museum. If you are looking for a relaxing accommodation, perhaps book a spot in town. A lot of workmen were staying at the time..No need to worry as they were all quiet and polite. We stayed in a cabin which was warm and comfortable bed. It was a cold afternoon on our arrival and the air conditioner had been switched on prior to our arrival (we had only booked an hour before) The lady at reception had walked out with us to show us our cabin and parking spot. We had a lounge but it was covered with a throw rug which did have stains. The bed linen was clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower great The reception needs a good clean and tidy up as first impressions count. The hotel is located centrally..a short walk into the CBD. Parking available on site. A local upmarket pub is attached to the premises (happy hour before 6pm for half priced food and discount drinks) The outside area also need some TLC as these little attention to details would makIe the difference. The best thing about it is the location. It’s only a short and very pleasant walk into town. It’s also beside a fantastic and really well run pub. That’s where the good things end. The rooms are a bit down at heel. They’ve seen much better days and look like they weren’t that flash when they were last renovated. Most of the finishes are ordinary and the maintenance standards aren’t great either. The place is way overpriced for what’s pretty much a 2.5 star room at best. We love Ballarat but we will stay somewhere else when we visit here next

After walking around Sovereign Hill all day/night on Saturday it was magic to be able to unwind and relax in the pool. Make sure you plan your trip well ahead of time as there are limited spots available and it does book up. All the better in my mind, it was so nice having the pool to ourselves for more than half the session! The team was lovely and really made our visit a great experience. The robes were so soft with a generous fitting (easily 4XL friendly). You're given flip flops, robe, and towel included in your entry. All you need to bring is your bathers. We had an hour with the pool and sauna which felt like more than enough time. We practically floated out of the spa, so cozy and calm on a cold wet day. Highly recommend a visit!

I have never been at a resort that was as clean, everything even the top of the fridge was polished, the bathrooms spotless and linen impeccable. The downside is the lack of lifts making it tricky for my parents with mobility issues and travelling with children lead to many trips to collect luggage up and down steps. Given heritage listing tipping this one improvement we won't see. The access to an equipped laundry with multiple washing machines and dryers was great. We did find an odour as you crossed threshold to our room which disappeared once in the room, everyone picked up on it but I found it maybe to be spiritual in nature rather than an issue with the cleanliness. Felt several spirits during our stay and our bedroom was boiling hot at night, even on a 5 degree night with window open again spiritual in nature, no other explanation with no heaters on and occurred every night. We loved the amenities, the grounds and the pool was such a big hit. Car park was in open and quite a distance from building, almost need pedestrian crossing/paths to enable kids to be protected but tipping no event happened in the many years hence it being shared path/roadway. Got a twin room and set up the portacot for our toddler. It had everything we needed. The rooms were nice and dark due to block out blinds. The split system worked well to keep the place warm. Staff seemed like it was an effort. Room was clean but for the price I would expect at least bottled water in the fridge. There was nothing. Car park was charged on top of room. There was enough coffee for 2 cups. Fridge was empty. No biscuits to have with coffee. 1 small long life milk. No face washers in bathroom. If you required bottled water or a snack you had to go down to car park level and use vending machine. 1 only. And a line up to use it. I have stayed in many hotels including quest over the years and have never been so discouraged by the lack of effort from this motel. It is like it was a very low budget motel at an expensive price . Soul never stay there again. Much better alternatives at better rates in Ballarat.

A friend booked it for a wedding and the grounds were gorgeous. I didn't hear the exact amount that they spent to book it but I understand it was a LOT. The skylights directly over the beds also mean there’s no sleeping in past 7am here since it’s way too bright. Shelves in the bathroom are not screwed in well, and anything you put on it slides off.

It is a large apartment with lovely decor, very clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. It is very centrally located with a short walk to many cafes and restaurants, including Lake Wendouree which is a major attraction in Ballarat. We love travelling and experiencing different AirBNB and this one is one of our Victorian faves. So good that you can leave the car and wonder into town. And Jodie was so knowledgeable on the best places for eating and drinking. The accommodation is perfect. Nice and cosy for wintery Ballarat. Kitchen has everything you would need (admit we didn't cook)LOLS. Linen was beautiful quality and you could tell a lot has been spent curating a beautiful space with their amenities. Love the retro vibe and the record player a bonus. Look forward to our return to Bobby at Ballarat.
