然而,我们是通过Booking.com预订的,这让事情变得复杂,因为Booking.com收取了预订费。
Booking.com给予了我们充分的帮助和支持。

A cautionary tale for travellers, particularly those aged 60 and over, who are intending to travel to the Iguazu region in general, and the Sevaje Lodge Hotel in particular.
As part of our trip to Argentina in the autumn of 2025, my wife and I booked 5 nights at the Selvaje Lodge Hotel. Ahead of our trip, we visited a Travel Vaccination Clinic to ensure we received all relevant inoculations before we left home.
The Clinic assisted us by formulating very thorough risk assessments, and advised us that this region of Argentina was classified as a Yellow Fever risk area. WHO and CDC both indicate that travellers to the region should get vaccinated against Yellow Fever, which can cause very serious illness and death if contracted from infected mosquitoes.
The Travel Clinic, however, also advised us that it was strongly recommended that people over 60 should not receive the Yellow Fever vaccine, as the potentially serious health risks from side effects of the vaccine itself ramp up considerably if you are over 60, and even more for people (like me) who are 70 or over.
We felt therefore that we had no choice but to alter our travel plans and instead go to an area of Argentina that does not present a Yellow Fever risk. We contacted the Reservations Team at the Selvaje Lodge to ask if they would cancel our booking and refund our payment.
We were aware that our booking was classed as non-refundable, but asked whether, under the circumstances, the hotel would make an exception. We made contact in plenty of time for the hotel to have the opportunity to re-sell the room. We started this process, and have been exchanging emails, with the hotel and Booking.com since 10th September 2025.
After an exchange of messages, the hotel’s Reservations Department said that, had we booked directly with them, they would have had no problem refunding our payment. However, the fact that we had booked through Booking.com complicated matters, as the latter charged a booking fee. However, Reservations said not to worry - they would fix it.
Booking.com was entirely helpful and supportive to us. They indicated that they would waive their fee, and contacted the hotel to inform them of that, so that the cancellation and refund could go ahead. The hotel claimed on a number of occasions that no communication was sent to them by Booking.com, despite the fact that we know that Booking.com sent a formal refund request through their normal channels.
Our last three messages to the Selvaje Lodge General Manager and to the Reservations Team have not been favoured with a response.
We are obviously unhappy with the hotel’s disingenuous approach to us as clients, who are in a difficult and unforeseen situation. To string us along with promises then switch to complete silence seems to us to be disrespectful and a shoddy way to treat us in the circumstances.
We sent the Selvaje Lodge management a draft copy of this review so that they had the opportunity to respond regarding its fairness and accuracy. No response has been received.
I’ve written this review in the hope that other travellers to this region, particularly older travellers like us, are aware of these potential difficulties with travelling to this region of Argentina, and booking a stay with the Sevaje Lodge Hotel in particular.
