Infatti nonostante la nostra intenzione fosse quella di cambiare ogni volta taverna o ristorante, qui siamo venuti 2 volte, soprattutto perché piace ai nostri ragazzi. A fine pasto offrono graziosamente sempre qualche dolcetto. Bello, da provare. Il personale è cordiale ma discreto e non invadente. Nous avons visité ce restaurant dans le cadre de notre séjour à Malia entre copines. Le cadre était plutôt agréable, avec une décoration originale mêlant une ambiance de taverne à la Astérix et Obélix à des touches irlandaises.

We had dinner here several times during our stay in Crete, and every visit was fantastic. The service was absolutely incredible – even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff managed to provide a 10/10 experience every time. The food was excellent, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared.
The tavern itself is quite large, yet it has a very warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are kind, attentive, and always ready to serve with a smile. We also loved the nice ambient music that added to the overall vibe.
A truly wonderful place that we would highly recommend!

San Giorgio is a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was mostly delicious and well-prepared. The best dinner we had in Malia, we had it here. Right from the start you could tell that this place was a lot more organised than most of the others around, but surprisingly they managed to still keep that Greek hospitality we all love.
The food was spectacular - everything was very tasty and the portions were right. I ordered a raki and expected a shot, but received a mini bottle, which was definitely a nice surprise.
We were seated outdoor next to the entrance to a small church and next to lots of plants - truly a beautiful location.
The prices were similar to other restaurants around.
Overall a brilliant dinner so would definitely recommend eating here.

This is a quiet, family-friendly restaurant in Malia that feels like a hidden gem I think only the locals know about it. I visited Malia for a week, and this was by far the best food I had during my stay.
The prices are affordable, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The chef himself is one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met, and you can tell he truly cares about his guests. The food is absolutely delicious — we visited several times, and every single dish was amazing.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a warm, homely atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to relax, especially in Malia where the streets can be loud and busy. Here, you can enjoy your meal in peace. I also noticed that there weren’t many tourists, which made the experience feel even more authentic.
The attention to guest satisfaction here is on another level. The staff genuinely take care of you, and they have thought of every little detail to make you comfortable. On the table, you’ll even find wet tissues, toothpicks, and phone wipes small touches that make a big difference. Even the restroom surprised me it had everything you could possibly need, which shows how much they care about their guests’ experience.

The food might take a little longer to be served, but there is nothing wrong with that as this is really a small family taverna. And the food is worth it! Also you'll get pretty large portions. Even the appetizer filled me. :D

If you are looking for an easy-going restaurant away from the loud center of Malia, I totally recommend this place!
They also have a lot of options for vegetarians and also offer vegan feta cheese. As well as glutten free food. :)

When we finally got the food, our child was asleep and our drinks were empty. There was almost no one else in the restaurant. This is extremely disappointing as we have been in Greece for 2 weeks and nearly all other pork gyros platter have 5 TIMES!!!! As many meat for the same price. We also got lamb chops which also had very little meat compared to other restaurants and other meals as well which weren’t outstanding.
On the positive side, the staffs were very friendly and professional, thanks for their hard-work but overall we definitely DO NOT recommend this place, you will find much better value food in other places.

I would recommend this place to anyone that wants good food with reasonable prices. I got the pepperoni pizza, freshly made in a pizza oven which was delicious. The pasta carbonara was also very flavourful and creamy. The raspberry cheesecake cocktail was sweet and perfect as everything else. Popped into Brasserie during my stay in Malia and had a really good experience overall. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and a Mai Tai cocktail – the pizza was spot on: nice crispy base, decent amount of topping, and full of flavour. The Mai Tai was strong and well-made too, definitely hit the spot.
Service was okay , could be a little better and the place had a relaxed vibe, perfect for a chilled evening. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the wait time was a little longer than expected and the services lacked a little but nothing major. Would definitely go back again and try more off the menu.

Horrible! Le pire restaurant où nous sommes allés à Malia. C’est un steak house mais ils ne savent pas cuisiner la viande. Elle était trop cuite donc trop sèche, c’était étouffant. Dazu ein paar Gläser leckeren Wein und ein Getränk was an eine Mischung aus Cola mit Bananengeschmack erinnert. Das Essen kam nach etwa 20 Minuten und jeder Teller war ein Genuss. Also hier wurde in der Küche wirklich gezaubert. Die Portionen waren für uns ausreichend das wir satt waren aber nicht überfressen. Zum Abschluss gab es noch ein leckeren Ouzo mit Rosen(?) Geschmack sowie für jeden ein kleines Dessert aus Crumble mit einem total leckeren Creme. Der Abend war ein Erlebnis für uns und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Set in a beautiful courtyard just off the busy high street. We had a great time & as the reviews have said - it’s definitely worth it!
Highly recommend for starters mushroom croquettes (nor veggie or vegan as it actually has bacon in it - which the waiter will highlight upon ordering) & as a main go for the calamari!! It’s fresh & to die for.
For drinks: if you like sweet wine & feeling adventurous, go for the first white wine on the menu (completely forgot the name). You won’t regret it!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful taverna in Crete, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the exceptional atmosphere – it truly felt like stepping into a traditional and welcoming Cretan setting.
Beyond the lovely ambiance, the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. It was some of the best food I had during my entire trip.
What truly stood out, however, was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They were all so friendly and always ready to help, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

A wonderful tavern in Crete! The service was absolutely incredible – we were lucky to be served by a young lady from Albania who gave us a 10/10 service, full of attention and kindness. The food was super tasty, perfectly cooked, and very delicious.
At the end, we were offered fruits and ouzo on the house – a lovely gesture that made the experience even more special. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the whole staff is friendly and welcoming.

Staff were lovely and service was fast and checking on anything we needed.
The food was excellent with a sweet red house wine my new favourite from this trip.
Good portion sizes with cold water at the table served almost immediately upon seating, after we finished our meal a sliced and on ice fruit selection was brought along with the bill.
Would happily come back again.

It is quite simply an amazing hidden gem with a well thought out and unique menus making the most of local ingredients and a welcome change from the generic menus in most other places. We had a really warm welcome from the staff and the service throughout was fantastic. Genuine advice and recommendations about the food and wine. The ambience and design of the restaurant are simply enchanting – warm, stylish, and filled with an incredible feel-good atmosphere.
