Both of us would say we are quite experienced in Asian cooking but even then this class was brilliant for all levels. We picked up so many good tips, enjoyed every dish we made and thought both of our instructors for the day were amazing, super friendly and very informative with any questions from the whole class. They do pair you off into groups of two which if you are on your own you will be put with someone else on the course which means you share the work load. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone considering it and my friend and I are looking to make it an annual thing where we pick another style of cooking.

Lance was so patient, explained things in detail and kindly repeated himself several times when my distracted team weren't listening. The food was not only delicious, but we had so much of it. We made gyozas, Thai noodle salad and Vietnamese style chicken stir fry. What my pictures don't show is the noodles and the rice that was brought out after as well, so the table was full with so many dishes and sauces. We all left knowing in detail how to recreate the dish, happy and a full belly. So all in all, a great night! Oh, and having the air con downstairs was a HUGE relief as we had one of the hottest days in London. Don't think we would have survived otherwise. We got the uber water taxi from battersea power Station and it's only 5 mins from Wandsworth Town stop. It was poorly organised as by the time the waiter had taken our orders we'd been there 45 minutes with no drink or food. The normal pizzas were lovely but the gluten free ones were not. The drinks were not free flowing at all. Also 5 of us put our names down for karaoke and she took the requests but didn't tell us that there was a deadline and then the next dj refused to allow any of the karaoke requests then we were told we had to be out by a certain time it was very poorly run. One of the requests even made it on the screen but never got a chance to do it as the dj said he wasn't allowed. Not impressed. Lots of improvements need to be made. For example taking food and drinks orders when making the booking so that time isn't wasted at the brunch and to be explained more of how things are run. It is for this reason that I give Divertimenti a one star rating which is a clear demonstration on my behalf of fairness, something which Divertimenti is severely lacking.

It truly was a fantastic way to spend a day. Valentina Harris taught me how to make fresh pasta, ravioloni with beetroot & mascarpone, pumkin ravioli, a porcini mushroom sauce, walnut pesto & all in one day! We were greeted this morning with coffee, teas & a delicious selection of homemade biscuits and then sent home with everything we made & hadn’t managed to eat. We did the butchery masterclass which was very interesting and informative and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had ravioli, then the rib eye steak followed by a basil panna cotta which was really unusual and unexpectedly delicious. Overall a very enjoyable and pleasant evening and a great dinner. It's certainly an improvement on the old kitchen with more space and light & a disabled toilet which I need. I very much enjoyed the whole experience- the expertise of the tutor, the helpfulness of the volunteers, the general friendliness of the participants of every age and background and the atmosphere, in which everyone can feel truly welcomed. The recipes were innovative delicious & quite easy to make- lovely no knead buckwheat and seed loaf, miso soup, turmeric latte and chocolate mousse- all plant based. Although I already knew quite a lot about gut health, I learnt a lot more. My only small criticism was that the tutor and volunteers needed to familiarise themselves with the new kitchen and the cookers before the participants arrived. But I am sure this will soon be sorted out. I also think this way of financing the free classes is an excellent idea; helping to remove some of the inequalities in our society.
