Inside looked fun and colourful, and would really appeal to kids. The playground outside needs some updating, and more fun stuff to keep the kids occupied and happy. I am a supporter of utilising local business, spending your money local but it won't be in here. Sorry esplanade cafe but up your game when it comes to food. Ive been here a few times in the past 6 months and the food has been consistently good. Tasty and always hot. Recently I had the honey chilli chicken with boiled rice. I would recommend this. The service was pleasant and the cooking time was very quick. The shop itself has a seated area inside with comfortable padded bench like seats. There were 2 staff on, albeit one having lunch, and we were the only customers in the place (only 2 separate diners visiting during our 45min stay). The entrance doors were filthy with greasy hand prints, the floors under tables and behind the bins had not been swept, tables were left dirty from previous occupants and the toilets one had pee all over the seat and poo in the other with the sinks being filthy too. It didn’t even look like dirt/mess from that day. If that’s front of house I dread to think what’s lurking in the kitchen!

There was only one other customer in sitting at table. It was not busy yet quite a few tables needed wiped down as they had residue food on them. A bin was lying out in middle of floor full. Plenty staff behind counter standing about. Not really impressed for a first time. The food that we ordered was nice tho. But wouldn't rush back. I like the personal touch.
