The decoration arrangements provided were very poor quality in reality. I had booked a Rooftop dinner in Mumbai for surprise birthday party from Surprise Planner. The artificial flowers decor were very old, all faded and had lot of dust on them. I had to ask them to remove it, since it created a very cheap vibe. I went there to give a surprise party, however, upon reaching the venue, we were made to stand in a congested restaurant and I was asked to pay full amount before going to rooftop. (I had already paid ~70%, and balance ~30% was to be cleared on the day of event as per their confirmation message). Forceful waiting and discussion of payments in front of the guest (who is supposed to recieve a surprise) just spoilt the whole plan of surprise. I later understood why they ask to pay the whole amount before taking to the reserved rooftop area. It’s because after witnessing such poor quality arrangements, customers will surely get upset and refuse to pay. So whole intention is to trap the customer through pressure beforehand itself. Being summers, I was assured a fan near the seating, however a small low-power ‘table fan’ was given which had to be balanced on a stool for height as jugaad arrangement. Even the glass/mirror wall next to the sitting was all tainted and broken. Overall the arrangements were not substandard and venue (Hotel Aureole, Andheri East) was not well maintained. Worst of all, there was no privacy, as there was common washroom right next to the area allotted to us and other guests kept coming there continuously. There seemed to be a communication gap between Surprise Planner team and the venue, as the promised arrangements were not fully delivered, and whatever was provided was of low grade and dirty. They do not even disclose the venue till you pay the advance, so that customers can’t validate the quality of venue or arrangements. Overall Surprise Planners delivered a really poor experience. There are very prompt for taking confirmations and payments, however later there is no accountability of service delivery. Beware. Definitely Not Recommended!
