Restaurant is large and was kind of empty as I think we came in just after the dinner rush. lots of TVs with sports on in the bar area. Our waitress was very good and pleasant. They had large number of beers on draft and have something for everyone. We got hamburgers with fries and a chocolate shake burgers were decent but nothing great, though the brown sugar bacon was phenomenal on one of the burgers. Additionally, the chocolate shake was very, very good. The french fries were above average. The white cheddar cheese curds that we had for an appetizer were way above average. So much that I would just go back there for those and some cold beers.

Husband got his burger shortly after and that and he said the corrected food was fine. A different waiter dropped off our check. My husband told me not to sign the slip since the check has the wrong order on the slip. We didn't order wings, my drink wasn't listed, and there was something else on there I don't recall that we hadn't ordered. Another waitress took our slip to the manager and she came over to correct the slip with a refund of 20 cents in cash. I told her we hadn't signed the slip for my card so she ran to go find the other slip which we waited for. There was a lot of waiting in our visit. The visit wasn't ruined because there were good points and the staff was very nice to us but overall, there were a good number of flubs that if there were only one, could have been overlooked but built up over the whole meal.

They also tried to tell us that the sauce they handed us before didn't contain this ingredient. When looked up online, it very clearly states that ingredient is in it. Though we already knew this seeing as it's a pretty basic base for this type of sauce. We understand that many restaurants can't always accommodate allergies. But rather than committing false promises of being able to take care of the allergy and at least owning up to the mistake instead of trying to deny it, maybe next time simply explain that you can't accommodate. That would've been better cause then we could've safely found a different place to go instead of risking his health. It just angers me that we now have a hospital bill, and a safety issue and no one took accountability for it. We didn't even get an apology or an offer for any assistance. Instead when we asked for our waitress to take the first sauce back to try and see if anyone could tell us what it was we never got an answer and no manager even came out. Overall, this was a horrible and terrifying experience. Do better. Before you get someone killed.

My pretzel bites took awhile and they forgot my queso. He brought my queso and told me careful it's hot, the container had melted from being so hot so I asked for a new queso. My daughters sandwich wasn't right but I didn't even want to mention that. We went to DQ for somwthing quick because we have a long car ride and absolutely regret it. The layout is a little awkward because it's in an old building, but I think they did the best with the space they were given. There are plenty of booths, chairs, and high tops available for seating. That was pretty decent. I normally order a cortado but I'm glad I didn't because the plain cold brew we got was not good. It had too much bite and I also got a mouth full of grounds. Cold brews are supposed to be smooth because the cold water extracts less acid over an extended period of time. I'm not sure if any corners were cut but that's what it tasted like. After reviewing their bags for sale it looks like they specialize in flavored coffees which is fine, but more often than not they focus more on the novelty than the actual process. With that being said, because my in-laws live here we will definitely be back. We will just skip the cold brew next time.

It is historically preserved. The owner got grant money to do so I believe and he has to keep it historically accurate. It is an awesome, albeit small, intimate, fun place! And the food is seriously is great! It's a great place for a quick bite and some good conversation. Because it's a counter style, you can talk with others as much or as little as you want, but I have run into all kinds of folks from top government to local disabled there; I love it! And the owner will do magic tricks for you if you like; that's his other job. The food is cooked in front of you old style from scratch, and there's plenty of it; good sautéed veggies, good real cheeses, great sauces, etc. I just to take a second to hopefully in part undo someone's incorrect review. Oh, and I just noticed the picture that comes along with these reviews on google is quite old and not what it looks like anymore since the owner has restored it.
