First off, this place needs special recognition for the warmest of welcomes by Christina who gave the most amazing service. Although by the time we came to leave the pub was incredibly busy, she made every customer feel like they were her only ones. She was incredibly attentive, engaging and friendly and deserves recognition for this. We chose to sit outside in one of the pods and absolutely loved the comfort and quirky setting whilst enjoying the winter sunshine. The food was outstanding!! We were seriously impressed with the taste and quality of the food which was better than many (much more expensive) restaurants we have been to. All in all a fabulous experience. We will be back

The place looks great — outdoor pods, a bouncy castle, and plenty of staff make it feel lively and welcoming. The car park was busy, which is always a good sign. We found a table easily and ordered drinks and food. The meals were excellent — our pies were packed with meat and full of flavour. Although we were served chips instead of mash, the friendly waitress spotted it straight away and offered to fix it, but we were already more than satisfied. We stumbled upon this pub while searching for a place to eat on a rainy Sunday. Our usual method involves a quick online search, browsing through reviews. Yet again the management and staff were most friendly, efficient and accommodating. Sundays is roast dinner day and we both decided on the lamb shank, this was an excellent choice. The meat was tender, moist and very tasty. It was served with assorted roast and steamed vegetables and topped with a Yorkshire pudding. A boat of piping hot gravy and mint sauce followed within a minute. Quality was excellent and great value. We had a bottle of the Australian Shiraz which was very good. The pub had added a third wall-mounted screen for World Cup which made viewing an even better experience. I'd point out that this is a family pub and only some of the guests were there to enjoy the match. The commentary was therefore not set loudly and this was absolutely fine. This pub had achieved a great balance between younger and older clients; sports fans and those just there for a drink and possibly a meal. Updated 18th Jan 23 What a great Friday-night experience! We'd not used this family friendly pub since it had been refurbished and rebranded as the New Fox Inn. We phoned on a Friday evening and booked a table for supper with Rachel who accommodated us, at short notice, in a most friendly and polite manner. We arrived at the busiest time, around 18:45 when both the bar and the garden were heaving. Our table was reserved for us and, despite the many folks present, we were able to quickly order our food and a bottle of the great value House wine 'The Guv'nor' which was served at our table. Our starters of whitebait and calamari arrived quickly and both were excellent, crisp and piping hot. There was a bit of a delay for our main course, but that was fine as we'd had a starter and were able to chat and enjoy our wine while watching the Arsenal game on the two HD wall-mounted screens. The main courses were also both excellent, with large portions. I had the steak and ale pie which was the best I've had in a restaurant with masses of exceptionally tender, fat-free beef and great pastry top and bottom; a proper pie! My wife had the Hunters chicken which was also great with plenty of chicken and bacon and with a delicious cheese sauce. Our chips too were ultra-crisp and piping hot. I imagine on a random Tuesday morning in January the service is probably excellent but today it was poor. We had a family get together with 25 of us. It was well organised, with meal choices sent in advance against each name, so no confusion when bringing out the meals. A tab is allocated to each payment group, so drinks can be added to your tab and payment at the end is easier. We all had a selection of food including roasts, burgers, salad, fish, kids meals and was all delicious, everyone got exactly what they ordered and food was hot. Naturally, we had the pie and mash and as someone who has grown up with both South and East London options, this was just as good as my memories. I've always been a Marinos person but thought we would try as its more convenient to us distance wise and found it to be really underwhelming and poor quality. Chips seem to be half cooked and sopping wet. (Anaemic to be honest, no crispy chips). The fishcake was burnt on the side and well over cooked. The battered sausage was sopping with oil. Not great. Portion size was OK. Very basic offering menu wise on the online click and collect options. think they need to look into cooking times for products and letting them stand to get the oil out first. Everything about the evening was a fantastic experience, lovely table by the window with plenty of space, service was excellent, our waiters, Jamie and Mark were both perfectly attentive but not too much, very friendly and professional. The food was superb, we had lots of dishes so we could try a bit of everything. The Chorizo al Vino and Empanadas were a great way to start, followed by the steak sampler, green beans, portobello mushrooms, Humita, and thick cut chips (hot, crispy and fluffy, perfect!). The steaks were the best we have had, excellent cuts of beef, well cooked, perfectly seasoned, melt in your mouth tender, nothing left on the plate when we had finished! All the food was hot, well seasoned and good portion sizes. We had the Flan Casero and Churros for dessert as well as a sharing anniversary "pre-dessert" (thank you!). Espressos to finish and that made this, without doubt, the best meal out we have ever had. Service was well paced but never felt rushed. Don’t be fooled by initial appearances. The decor isn’t fancy or over the top, but the place is clean and tidy. The staff here are all friendly and helpful.
