The service was warm, friendly, and responsive, and the restaurant was a lovely, comfortable place to relax over a meal. The food was very good, clearly super fresh, quality ingredients. We shared the crab claws as a starter and they were the best we've ever had, so good that even with the generous portion we ordered seconds!! The mains and sides were also very generously sized, the veg beautifully cooked and potatoes decadent with cream and deliciously seasoned. Steak and fish dishes were beautifully cooked with steak perfectly to order. The only note I'd have is that it would be nice to have the option to cook the duck to order as well: while the flavours of the dish were great and the skin/fat perfectly rendered and crisp, the duck was quite overcooked for my taste and I didn't eat much of it. But I know duck is a difficult one...many people dislike any pink and so I can't really fault the restaurant too much for that. I'm sure they know their clientele, but I thought I'd mention it as I would have ordered something else if I'd known. Desserts were well received and I thought the wine was both delicious and quite reasonably priced. We would certainly eat here again, a really lovely spot. We didn't try the prix fix menu but it looked like amazing value!

The response had an apology for our experience, yet in the next sentence stated we imagined our waitress rolled her eyes, because that is uncharacteristic of her. There was no accountability taken for the fact that a portion of my meal was missing, the fact that she wanted to charge us for the missing food that is stated in the menu as part of the meal, or for the other rude behaviors displayed by this staff member. All of which must be typical behavior if the eye roll was the only thing management couldn't believe happened during our experience. The management also called our experience an isolated incident. However, there are other numerous reviews within the past few months stating terrible service was received. These reviews can be found on both this site and other travel sites. My recommendation is to avoid this place if you can. The food is not worth the terrible in-person experience (especially for the high prices!) or the post-visit message from the management insinuating you are lying when an issue is addressed. .................. Café Layout: The counter and till are located towards the front of the business and the seating area is to the rear of the business. The seating area is quite large with a number of areas to choose from. There is a little outdoor area as well which is nice and unique! Wheelchair Access: I believe that all of the store is wheelchair friendly apart from the outdoor area as that area might be a little uneven. I did not notice a wheelchair accessible toilet however, there might be one on the premises that I am not aware of. Apologies for not having more information about wheelchair accessibility on this premises. Overall Opinion: I really liked my visit to The Daily Grind and the ambience of this café! The service was incredible and the food was perfect. 2 people decided on the fish (battered and oven baked) and they said it was some of the best fish they've had in a while. I opted for the chicken burger and it was delicious. Has great indoor and outdoor eating options. Plus some cosy tables in the pub section. Although you can't beat the view out onto the bay from the restaurant/outdoor area. Plenty of parking behind the pub off the road and more across the road. I ate here with a friend as we were cycling up the west coast of Ireland. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. They were even helpful with somewhere to put our bikes. If you do decide to order from here, there’s no point paying the extra money for egg fried rice, within my portion of “egg” fried rice, was one minuscule piece of egg, so small you could hardly notice it! And the rice wasn’t even fried, just boiled. If things weren’t disappointing already, on my order I specified about a peanut allergy. Luckily this is not severe. There was some cross-contamination between one of the dishes. I phone up the restaurant to one of the works who was very nice and took my details and told me to expect a phone call back. After a very short few minutes my phone ran to another lady who informed me that “they tried their best” and that “these things happen”. Apparently fresh oil was used for our meal, but judging by the look and taste of the food this definitely was not the case. I will never again go here and would highly recommend anyone with allergies to stay clear of this place. Absolute shambles.

If you eat in you quickly realize that the restaurant seating area is huge and on many occasions you’d often end up being the only people eating there. Last night however he was joined by another child who were both running and screaming around inside the large dining area as well as in and out through the kitchen.
