The food was good. Wide range available. Disappointed that single use plastic is in use here. Why? Delicious scone with cream let down by cheap jam in small plastic containers. I had the 10oz rib-eye with chips, onion rings, rocket, roasted tomato and the chimichurri. The meat was cooked at a perfect medium rare, the fat was beautifully rendered and the sides were well cooked, well seasoned and the chimichurri was fresh, tasty and the perfect accompaniment. My wife has the 8oz sirloin at a perfect medium. We paired it with a bottle of malbec and finished the night with the lemon meringue and measure of Laphroaig. We booked and were told the special was mussels with Roquefort sauce, my partner immediately said yes. Everything seemed very clean and the staff was very friendly. They had set up tables for a Christmas meal for a large group and the tables looked amazing. Now for the food! The food was excellent and didn't take long to be cooked and served (not a surprise as it was early in the evening and there was no other customers in) But the taste was fantastic and it all arrived on the table piping hot and looked and smelt delicious as well. I would highly recommend trying this and I can’t wait to see how many other reviews say the same. I fully intend to return with my family and that will be the big test to see if the children are happy 😆

My qualm comes from a mixture of the food itself and the prices. I ordered the “grilled chicken with garlic sauce” - I expected grilled chicken and what I got was chicken covered in batter, which I found particularly confusing because there were other chicken items specifying batter or deep frying. I’d normally not be so bothered by this but I’ve been deliberately avoiding battered food for health reasons lately so to be given something that I’d scoured the menu to avoid was a bit upsetting (maybe the description needs to be changed?). I also ordered sticky rice with the dish and maybe it also just wasn’t what I was expecting / what I’m used to but the rice was almost crunchy in texture - I had to actually press hard with a knife to break any of it apart. The final issue was that the rice cost £7.50 (the chicken dish did not come with a side). I understand sticky rice is a bit fancier than regular steamed rice but £7.50 is pricey, especially since I (personally) thought it was not great. I think I’ll try here again to explore some of the other items as the chicken was still tasty despite not being what I wanted and the food my friends had looked good too.
