We made the mistake of ordering when we were absolutely starving; starters, mains, sides of chips.. this was not needed, hahaa. The portion sizes are amazing, and at such good value for money! We were too full to sample any of the cakes, but these also looked really nice. The cafe is dog friendly which is a huge bonus, we sat upstairs in the corner whilst the dog snoozed under us, patiently awaiting a sausage.. the only downside of this seat is that it stares directly into the toilet and people kept leaving the door open after they used it! This can't be helped, overall the cafe had a nice cosy atmosphere and seems very well used.

We were told we’d only have an hour but we were perfectly fine with that as any longer may have disrupted our newborns routine. Service was good, friendly staff, and considerate. Our baby was sleeping so the waiter spoke to us quietly which was very thoughtful. At one point I needed to change our baby and I was heading to the gents, I was chased down by a waitress who told me they do actually have a baby changing room but it was through the back, she showed me where and it made life easier. It was refreshing to experience such compassion and care, not everywhere is so welcoming of newborns. Our food was good, I thoroughly enjoyed mine. After a walk in the grounds, we popped back into the cafe for coffee and cake, both of which were absolutely lovely. Overall really really impressed and will definitely be back for more cake and a wander around the shop!

What a find! Lovely location and the food was outstanding. Not only beautifully cooked but generous portions and ridiculous value for money. Sunday roast beef can be hit and miss but not here, beautifully tender beef not over cooked and you get plenty of it. The other main dishes were equally delicious. I could have eaten anything from the menu to be honest so we'll have to go back and give that a try. I saw the sea bass another diner was served and it looked fantastic so that's me for the next visit. And I have to give the staff a massive thank you, such lovely people who really want you to enjoy your meal. The service was warm and friendly in this historic characterful establishment. A good menu and specials board won't over face you but more than enough choice for most, the choice of a smaller version of some mains will please some. My chicken and prawn Phad Thai was amazing and thankfully didn't contain choy. The steak and ale pie was also delicious. Along with a couple of sides we had sufficient to accommodate our hearty appetites. We didn't have time to sample starters or puddings but they looked very appealing. Good value for money. Around the corner there is on street parking, free all day Sunday, timed to an hour during the day Monday to Friday. Received a call from the shop and then the owner who just tried to brush past everything implying I was at fault and that he would bring a menu for me to read when it was his website that made the mistake. The website boasts an offer 3 in 1 deal including pizza, chips and cheese and chicken pakora, once you select your first pizza it asks what you would like on the second so after looking around I decided this was great value and to place my order. 10mins after I pay for my order I received a call from the shop to explain the deal is ment to be 1 pizza plus 1 of each of the other items rather than any combination of the 3. The guy was reasonable but I said as I had made my decision and paid for my order they should deliver what I ordered rather than me losing out. He said he would contact the owner to get his opinion, the call I received from the owner was completely pointless as he was just calling to tell me it was my fault that his website doesn’t work properly. He said I just needed to pick which of the pizzas I wanted and to forget it. I asked would it not be better customer service to honour the deal which had been paid for and to immediately get the website changed to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I said if they weren’t willing to give me what I had bought and paid for that I wanted to cancel my order and get my money back, the owner didn’t seem to care simply saying I had to deal with the website for any refunds. Absolutely shocking service and I will never use them again not that the owner seemed to care, he would rather lose my customer than a pizza that probably costs him less than £3
