Since it's only a short walk from our daughter's apartment we booked with only shirt notice but early enough to easily get a table for three. The kids and husband loved their pizzas, and I ordered the risotto, which was delicious (the goat cheese was an incredible touch). We didn't order any wines since we were so tired from traveling but they had an extensive drink collection to compliment your meal. Lots of specials written on black boards above the tables. Our room was pleasant with a very comfortable bed, however the two arm chairs were not and were more "form over function". The radiators in our room and ensuite were not working and a room heater was installed on our second day following a couple of reminders to staff. We had such an amazing stay from the moment we got there to the moment we left. Timbrell's Yard is in a brilliant location right in the centre of Bradford On Avon but its set back from the road so is really quiet. Scandi type furniture, soft furnishings, comfortable bed. It was actually a bit magical. Bathroom was a good size with a nice rainfall shower. The staff at Timbrell's Yard are outstanding the three receptionists we saw were friendly, genuine, funny, and helpful. It was the same with the front of house team, bar staff, chefs, managers. They were genuine upbeat and really knowledgeable about the menu and food they served. Breakfast was delicious I had mushrooms and poached eggs on smashed avocado. It had an amazing dressing. I liked it so much I would have had it for dinner if I could have. My husband had poached eggs and hash Browns. It was a!shame as he reported his eggs to be a bit cold. The conversion that the pub made was really sympathetic with the history of the building and the area and just made you feel relaxed. If I had a criticism it was breakfast service was a bit slow and we had to change our menu choices as we had booked a tour. On reflection we should have got up earlier. Fantastic location right on the water of the canal, you can see all the boats in the marina. Only a short walk from Bradford on Avon and definitely worth it. Large outdoor drinking/ dining spaces with great views. Large modern interior with an upstairs. Hold lots of events in summer. Lunch ciabattas were yummy (particularly the chicken Caesar one) and good portion sizes. Dinner options were also good (particularly the sausage and mash). Staff really friendly and pub itself seemed fine if unremarkable. However, the accommodation upstairs is really rather sad. Stairs and hallways were damp smelling with tatty and grubby carpets. Old cheap feeling pillows, and mattress and old towels with grubby marks on them as if they hadn't been washed properly. En-suite bathroom looked nice from afar and I think had been relatively recently done but cheaply and sloppily. Might have ordinarily given it a 2 or even 3 star but it gets 1 due to cleanliness issues and also cost, as at £140+ for our room without breakfast, it felt really poor value. Food was definitely a 5 out of 5. Great menu and absolutely delicious. The service, however, is terrible, and they have the cheek to add a compulsory 10% service charge. We only received 5 out of the 6 dishes we ordered, and it was impossible to catch either of the two servers' attention to see where it was. They didn't even come over at any point to see if everything was OK with the food. By the time we managed to get one of them, we'd finished everything else and asked if we could cancel the last dish. We rang Merkins and they were, so we made our way over there. It was busy but they has room the staff from meeting us at the door to serving were all great. We liked it so much we came back for lunch another day and even stopped for breakfast on the way home! Merkins is delightful, the staff were super friendly and helpful, aways serving with a smile. The cafe decor is charming, we loved all the quirky details, it feels welcoming and comfortable. The views are amazing! And most importantly the food (and drinks!) is delicious! What a warm welcome and brilliant find! We were 2 couples staying locally so couldn’t resist walking to this olde worlde inn So glad we did! Upon arrival we were met by friendly locals, a roaring fire on what was a stormy evening and Clive who was the friendliest landlord ever. We were offered a couple of menus which included the ‘daily specials’ and were truly spoilt for choice. Clive and his staff were attentive, the food was tasty, well presented with generous portions on every plate. The Butty Bach ale went down particularly well with my husband (from Wales). After dinner we retired to 4 comfortable armchairs around the fire which is when Clive gave us some of his best whisky ‘on the house’ . We all enjoyed good conversation and banter and didn’t want to leave. To top our evening off, due to a deterioration in the weather, Clive offered to drive us back to our accommodation which we will always be incredibly grateful for!! Faultless! Service was quick and the menu had plenty of choice. The aranchini and tomato sauce was hot, fresh and well seasoned. The entrance is a bit hidden away from the main road, but easy to find and accessibility doesn't appear to be an issue. The restaurant is painted quite darkly, but with the glorious evening light flooding in it felt light and airy. High ceilings with interesting light fittings. We were shown to our table and were sat directly by the River Avon as it ambled its way through Bradford. We ordered deep fried mozzarella and the breaded mushrooms, both of which were superb - nothing like the pub versions you might think of. Mains were a couple of pizzas. I went for the Milanese - goats cheese, onion chutney and rocket - whilst the hubbie went for the Pescatore - prawns, anchovies, clams & tuna. Both were flavourful and bright. My only tiny downside is that they felt a little floppy - another couple of minutes in the oven. I'm being really picky as we devoured both of them with vigour! Dessert was a tiramisu for him and a brownie for me. Both were excellent. I will definitely be returning in the near future, if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Bradford on Avon then this place is well worth a try. Once for our birthdays and then last week first our wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. The burgers are lovely and homemade and both my teenagers enjoyed these options. Tuti was very, very accommodating organising tables and moving other customers around to seat our party of 5 as we didn't have a reservation. What an amazing experience. Tuti is the friendliest, most welcoming, open, humble, honest and generous man. The food and service was exceptional and I would go as far to say the best Indian I have ever eaten and we have had many! The food was really tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Our food was served very quickly, even from starter to main. It was a lovely place to eat, and on a hot summer evening felt like we could have been somewhere in Europe. One dampener on the evening was the clearing of outdoor furniture 8.30-9pm. Every single dipping sauce was spot on, and super flavorful. The toasted bread was still soft and chewy in the middle, absolutely perfect. For our means, we both decided to have the lamb shish kebab. The marinade of it was delicious, the meat was tender, and since we had sausage left over from our appetizer, we were able to include those flavors in as well. What a wonderful meal! We had a bit of fun with the bar staff and even introduced some thing that they decided to try themselves and loved. I mentioned to my wife that this was really more like going to a large party at somebody’s house rather than a restaurant. She absolutely agreed. As we were leaving, we chatted with the manager/owner, and our waiter, sharing that idea of a festival type of feeling. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and advised we could use the spa facilities (sauna, steam room and pool) before our treatments. Both my wife and I had a 55 minute massage from Josh. My wife went first and when she re-entered the spa reception, her smile said it all! I then went through myself. The treatment room is cosy, clean and warm. Josh took the time to ask about any ailments or niggles in your body where you may want some extra attention. I must say, his massage was outstanding and absolutely first class. As a massage therapist myself I always enjoy having massage, but it’s rarely do I find a masseuse that works as fluidly and seamless as Josh, it was a perfect start to our stay here and we’d both recommend a visit to Josh for his massage. We were given an upgrade to our room which was a nice surprise and the room we are in is the Grooms, garden room. It’s a lovely and cosy room that is well appointed, with a small sun room to the rear, although not sunny today, an absolutely lovely place to sit and have coffee with a read. So, my take on Woolley Grange Hotel and Spa, both absolutely top notch. Beautiful hotel, superb setting and amazing massage at the spa. The first thing that struck us was the beautiful location. We had the option of sitting outside or inside. If you do choose outside, you do have large umbrellas protecting you from the unpredictability of the British weather. Inside is as relaxed as you would expect, with a clear of the kitchen too. The staff were extremely welcoming, everyone saying hello to us and offering impeccable service. A special shout-out to our server Harri, who, aside from his friendly and charming demeanour, demonstrated a detailed knowledge of the menu and offered fantastic advice on everything, including choice of wine, when requested. But what about the food itself? Well, we ordered a pasta with meat bolognese and a sirloin steak. The former was a wonderfully rich and flavoursome affair (which is saying something when you come from a home where you were weaned on pasta). The latter was something else. A beautifully aged cut of meat treated with the sort of finesse that seems rare these days, it tasted extraordinary, a wonderful melt-in the mouth slice of perfection that may be the best I have had. Served with fries and dressed lettuce, the clever mix of flavours only raises the experience further. After such a fantastic main course, of course we felt we had to sample the dessert menu. Whilst one of us settled for the best sorbet they have ever had, I chose the tiramisu. I say I chose tiramisu, but what was served up was like no tiramisu I have had (which is saying something). An incredible combination of sponge, soaked in coffee of course, ice-cream, and meringue, this was a work of imagination and genius, lifting one of my favourite Italian dishes to a level I didn’t think possible. A word to the wise … we were advised the menu could change with little notice, so I would make a point of sampling this astonishing dessert whilst you can. All in all, a perfect experience.

We held a wake here in the Vendange suite for more than 50 guests and were impressed from the moment we contacted the hotel. The views from the function room were amazing, there was direct access from the car park to the suite and double doors from the room to the garden. On the day, all the staff worked well together to ensure everything went smoothly. Kind, respectful and professional, thank you! BUT..on arrival at 4pm on the Saturday the room was cold - the radiator would not come on and that is how it stayed until we left on Sunday morning! The staff said they would sort it but never did - have us a 3 legged electric fire with minimal heat which had to be leant against wall. Ate there Friday night - both steak pie, crisp top but inevitable 'soggy bottom' mash ok but veg way undercooked. Saturday morning no hot water to wash or shower - boiler broken down - fixed by evening. Back from 'do' Saturday night went to bar for nightcap - suddenly at 10.30 we were told to leave the bar and go into conservatory, they were locking up!! - no sign, no warning, no 'last orders' - just 'go'. Nine of us had to move. Back to bedroom, cold, a standard creaky double bed. Very disappointing, won't be going back. They need to sort a few things!@

We took our 18 month old with us and she loved running round the garden so take a few toys with you if you’re planning on taking your kids. I could tell that the pizza was good and usually is good however on our visit I think they were running out of a few ingredients so for instance my pizza came out with roasted peppers on instead of sun-dried tomatoes that kind of thing but I’m not want to get bothered by that and I could tell they were busy - it was still tasty. I would recommend this place.

It was here we first discovered the Iford brand as Foxhill Manor stock the flavoured sparkling water. After falling in love with the taste we started to order from Iford and one of their suppliers for ourselves and to keep in the office to give to clients. We had several orders without issue until the 12th of June this year when my husband arrived at work one day to find a cupboard door open and bottles of water strewn across the floor. Upon further investigation he found that even though the boxes of the Iford drinks remained unopened a can had exploded in each box with such force it had pushed the bottles of water sitting in front of the boxes over causing the cupboard door to open. When he called me to make me aware of the issue I went to check the large amount of boxes we had stored at home, many of the boxes contained at least one can that had done exactly the same. Whilst unboxing the drinks we had cans exploding in our hands, one with such force it flew out of my husbands hand only just missing his car, completely covering the car in sticky fizzy drink, out of the garage and up the driveway. Understandably we were very annoyed so reached out to the Iford supplier who forwarded our email to the drinks representative Jake at Iford. Jake contacted me on the 13th of June and during this discussion informed me that Iford were aware of the issue and had been trying to rectify it as a bacteria was causing the apple to ferment which caused the cans to explode, he'd even had one explode in his own car. I questioned why the drinks were still being offered for sale and was told Iford thought they had sorted the issue. Jake offered to refund me in full and asked that we dispose of the cans ourselves, we had 16 boxes of 12 cans so as you can imagine this took time, was very messy and we had a few more explode in our hands whilst trying to open them and empty. They were exploding with such force I didn't want our binmen to potentially get injured when emptying our recycling bin. Jake offered to send us something as way of an apology. I had to chase the refund on several occasions and on the 4th of July we received a small parcel from Iford which we soon realised was their apology parcel. The box was soggy and damaged and unbelievably contained 5/6 cans of the flavoured water, one of which had exploded. I reached out to Jake to question the ridiculous gesture and was told it should have been four cases of their flavoured sparkling water. Since the 4th of July I have heard nothing more and received only the refund which took weeks. Understandably I would not recommend this company or drinks. The customer service has been absolutely terrible and I can not understand why a product that was exploding wasn't removed from public sale immediately. I'm only grateful we didn't hand any out to clients and our children didn't drink any of them.
