If I could give 10 stars I would. I went from north London to here to try on a recommendation and I have to say I wasn't disappointed.. Vas and his team were amazing. No rush in ordering despite being a busy Sunday, Father's Day. We didn't know what to choose as there were some delicious items on the menu. A special Father's Day menu too. We went for mixed grill for 2, crispy duck salad and mains were roast lamb, mixed grill and beef stifado. The pictures do not give it justice for the taste and flavours. We will return and I so recommend if you're in the area or fancy a day out whilst visiting Surrey try Galu. Thank you all at Galu.

Staff was friendly enough just lacking a little attentiveness, the menu was extensive, almost too much. Luckily kids menu was simple enough for them and they were happy with the options. For adults we ordered garlic bread as a starter, simple enough. I had a Black Truffle Salami & Mushroom pizza, was lovely pizza, thin base, great flavour but was extremely salty, it could of done with a small side salad to cut through the salt. Wife had the Calzone Carne Piccante, again great flavour but very rich, just needs a small salad on the side to offset the richness. All in all a nice night out with the family, easy enough to please most palates.

First the restaurant, lovely staff , clean, Greât atmosphere and really good food. I had an offer sent on my zillionaire app so we decided to take advantage of it as it was my birthday. I was offered a free main and 50% the other mains if we had a starter or pudding. Sounds good. We arrived and seated .. its wasn’t busy. We ordered drinks and our starters. We had large calamari to share and my son and partner the garlic breads. The calamari was delicious and hot. For my free birthday main I had Calzone, my wife the Salmon salad, son the wild-boar Ragu and his partner margarita pizza. All looked and tasted delicious. No complaints at all beautifuly cooked if I were to be picky the Calzone has shrunk over the years ,I think due to cost of ingredients. But was still lovely. We didn’t have a pudding. So to the Zizzi part of the review the bill.. so I get the part of we had to order starters and we always do. So 50% of mains is a perk. But my free birthday main was the lowest main on the bill… so my Calzone was 17.95 and the margarita pizza £13.95. They didn’t charge for pizza but that wasn’t my meal.. I’m not being awkward here if my birthday meal is free then it should be the calzone not the lowest priced main on the bill.. that’s the company policy not the restaurant. Even with the discount and one round of drinks it came to nearly £100. £24 pound a head about average for a meal out .. forget the nitpicking part of the bill,it’s a lovely restaurant give it a try.

Our server was Marta who made us feel very welcome from the start. She recommended duck dish, which was absolutely perfect, and our pizza and pasta were just as good. I haven't rated the atmosphere as I haven't dined in there properly I've only had a takeaway from there. Despite the kitchen shutting the waiter managed to get me a meal for takeaway which for me big credit to the restaurant for that. The veal milanese was delicious, it's hard to make both the veal and the spaghetti taste equally delicious from a cardboard box and yet the pasta sauce was sweet and delicious and the veal was cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a decent Italian restaurant in the Surrey area I'd definitely stop by Ciao Italia as the food is as good as you'd get back in Italy where some of my family live.

The beans tasted like the store bought basic beans, your usual bloomer, 2 eggs with chopped up mushrooms, couple of grilled tomato slices and undercooked haloumi cheese for £10.95 You’d do yourself a favour buying some pancakes from your local Co-op and add some maple syrup on them. In the menu they mention other fruits which I didn’t want, so naturally you’d expect to be compensated with more strawberries… if this is compensated amount, I wonder what would be the regular amount! Head over to my other reviews of pancakes you’d know what I mean! Juice was ok so was the coffee. Pistachio Croissant was very good! Oh did mention the unfriendly staff? They knew neither their food nor their service was upto minimum standards so they didn’t even bother asking “if everything was ok?” There are plenty of other restaurants on the high street, you’ll much better option, experience and quality of food along with the ambiance.

The experience, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to expectations , though there were some highlights. The starter was genuinely delicious and gave a promising start to the meal. It was a cold winter evening in November and the first experience was not only fantastic ambience with a very authentic décor, but we were also warmly welcomed by two very friendly front of house staff. We grab a seat at the expansive bar on the very comfortable stools and settled in to review the menu, we decided on the classic Singapore Sling and took in the very laid back and sophisticated vybe. Watching our bartender making our cocktails it was clear that he was very familiar with the required ingredients and also made it to a standard which I can closely compare with the original I had whilst on vacation in Singapore last year. Unfortunately on this occasion on a quiet Sunday morning the service was terrible ! There was only another table of 4 in there and a few people outside when we got there. Our food took 50 mins to come and it was all wrong. My partner had to wait until he'd finished his breakfast before they brought out his poached egg that was missing of his bfast! The omelettes we ordered were burnt and not with the extras we had ordered. The American styled pancakes were thin and small and not like the pancakes that the other table had ordered. When we complained we were told they were too busy and couldn't help it! All in all a very bad service and won't be going back there !
