After having a drink outside during the day and seeing how nice the food looked, we knew we needed to book in to eat the next night. This was by far the nicest meal we’ve both ever had! We started with the Korean BBQ Chicken. My boyfriend had The Hive Burger for his main whilst I had the Welsh Lamb Kofta flatbread which was to die for. The Elderflower Collins cocktail was stunning! First and foremost, The Celtic is a fish & chips restaurant at heart. However, since acquiring the former Monachty Arms in 2020 right next door, the last few years have seen the New Celtic emerge alongside the decidedly up-market Y Seler as a facelifted, gastro fish and chips venue. The upside of the new acquisition is that the fine dining at Y Seler has influenced the menu at the New Celtic. The fish & chips are great, but so are their chicken curries, lasagne and gammon steaks. So cast your eyes on the photos and ask yourself - when is the last time you've seen food served this good at a chippy? Whilst dining in will cost more than the take away, it opens up the option to enjoy a nice alcoholic drink with your food, great desserts along with all the traditional fayre - still at a very reasonable price - offering great value. We dined in, was first stop off from Fishguard ferry when touring Wales by motorcycle. We both had cod and chips, despite being on the daily specials was normal price. There are a few options in the town, so went out Saturday evening to see which one had availability and allowed dogs. We camped near New Quay recently and visited three times during our two week stay. The farm shop is compact but well worth a browse. We discovered delicious local cheese, Welsh cakes of multiple varieties, and the most delicious locally distilled rum — incredibly smooth and not spiced! The Mootel is quirky but the bed is very comfortable & roomy. Still quiet new as less than 12 months old. All the areas in the room was very clean & well presented. Booked in for the breakfast in the mornings really filling, unable to get booking for the restaurant on the first night as it was Sunday & full. But made sure on the second night by booking early, what a great menu plenty of choices, well presented & filling. Reasonably priced for everything. The farm shop has plenty of choices, catering for campers & people staying at the Mootel, you don’t have to eat in the restaurant, but I would just for the experience, if you use the public transport get the day rover £6.70 good value if you consider how much it cost to park in the main places, picks you up & drops you off at the front just speak to the driver. The bus goes from cardigan to Aberystwyth or in reverse & paces through all the main beach areas. You can walk along the cliffs to either New Quay or Aberaeron but make sure to wear sturdy shoes but the views are amazing. Thanks for a great stay & relaxing time.

On both occasions we were warmly welcomed by the owner, Stefano, and were looked after throughout our visit by Jan, the highly professional and friendly manager. Staples on an Italian menu, such as lasagne and tiramisu were considered by some of our party to be the best outside Italy, and less familiar dishes, like caponata Siciliana and filetto di Maiale al forno, were full of flavour. Our server Jemma, managed to squeeze us in which we were super grateful for. The atmosphere was buzzing, the service friendly and the food was the best Thai food we've had in Wales. My mum has been at the hotel multiple times to visit me in the past as I am a local. never complained about the dated sight of the hotel or anything else but yesterday we asked if we could get the boarding pass printed for her flight the next day (Which you think is basic customer service right?). We explained that we wanted something printed and he said that they usually don't do that as it could be a virus that gets over to his system. He then started saying that his staff should not be printing tickets as it was prime time at the bar and it is difficult to find staff. I reflected on this and after dropping my mother of to her room I thought that this wasn't right and confronted the owner at the bar he was working on serving one customer at the whole bar. I said that his behaviour was appalling and that my mum is a loyal customer who has been there 4-5 times in the past years. He then walked talking to me into the hallways (Assume that he didn't want his other customers to hear which I understand as they are on their holidays.) He then started arguing with me over the boarding pass saying about viruses which I said was not the problem. He then said why airports don't print tickets is because it cost them 65p per ticket which I knew in my head was ridicules. I said to him that I will bring him the money the next day to make up for the ticket printing. He said he doesn't want my money. He then got feed up and walked away. The whole time he was very agitated, rude and very appalling. The next day I wrote him a note with 65p in it about his attitude towards paying customers and that I hope he is happy with his 65p and losing a long loyal customer because of his behaviour.
