I really liked my street tacos but the wife reported that the chimichonga was not very good as did my mom who halved it with her. Or waitress kept our chip bowl full and the salsa was pretty good despite being very mild. The waitress was great on all counts. There are several Mexican or Tex-Mex options within a half mile of each other and I had been frequenting another place for years, but the service has deteriorated at my old hang out to the point that 3 out of my last 4 visits there I was ignored from the the time my food was served waiting for up to 45 minutes with an empty glass and I decided to give Mama Mia's another shot. Since my last visit, they have refurbished the entire place and they did it very well with a huge outdoor seating area with plenty of shade and a huge flat-screen TV for watching sports. Mama Mia's food has also been kicked up from a 3 star to 5 stars for me and the service has been better than 5 stars, its good enough that I have eaten there 3 times in the last 8 days and will be returning tomorrow. Mama Mia's is my new favorite restaurant out of all in my town. My only suggestion to management would be to turn the music down a few decibels.

The place was quaint, cozy nostalgic and it definitely smelled amazing. We were promptly seated and as I looked around I felt like I was home!! From the photos on the wall to the chalkboard with pickle themed jokes there was plenty to look at. The staff was super friendly and after ordering and waiting a few minutes we got our food. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and can definitely say they were delicious. Please keep in mind this isn’t fast food where someone takes frozen food and then deep fried it. This is not instant food so it takes a few minutes to get your order. Sit down, eat your appetizers and enjoy looking around and chatting with the people you are with. Drove 40 minutes to try it out, and it was worth it. Friendly staff, clean tables, quiet enough to talk. Blueberry pancakes were very tasty, and actually cooked all the way through. Very cute little restaurant right on the river, staff was amazing and food was even better. I had the shrimp tacos with fries and my friend have the Summer burger. They also cater to gluten sensitive, which is a huge plus for me. We will definitely be back again!

I have not tried their pizzas yet, but they do seem to serve quite a few for delivery or pickup while I am dining in. On my next visit I had to show my wife...and they didn't disappoint! I had the tomato basil soup again, with lasagna, and she had avocado toast and the tomato basil soup. I saw a review from 8 years ago saying they still allow smoking inside. I was disappointed to see that is still the case. However, the staff and the clientele are all super nice. That said, the amount of violations I saw in an hour and a half was astounding. Lol! The cook had more drinks in the time we were there than I usually have in a week. But made one of the best burgers I've had in this town. The bartenders were the friendliest I've seen in a long time. But one or the other was smoking constantly behind the bar. I can't imagine the amount of ashes that are on the bottles and probably in the ice. That said, I would definitely go back. I just wouldn't order a mixed drink and would drink beer from a bottle. I shudder to think about the last time they cleaned their beer lines. And if I planned to eat there, I would go early before the cook is completely sloshed.
