We loved the Innkeepers' suite - so spacious and comfy. We had a light dinner in the wine bar twice - and the squash soup was so divine we had it both evenings. The breakfast was terrific - especially the homemade plum and quince jams. The staff are so competent, capable and service-oriented - and there is a concierge 24-hours. Just out the door to the left is a lovely walk 30 minutes to the end of Mill Road along the lake and past wineries - so picturesque. This is a solid 5/5 - and we've stayed in many heritage inns over the years. We'll be back.

With its age there are a few things “missing”, I’d love to have a bit more space in the rooms for a chair and I wish the walls were a bit more sound proof. However, this is all overcome by the level of service and comfort experienced. Staff are so welcoming, remembering your name and details about you. We dined at Eliza the first night and it was lovely. Our server was so great and we witnessed another server, Ben, handle a loud and rude customer who was mistreating him with nothing but grace and professionalism. We dined upstairs the second night and the meal was incredible with a great wine list. This little restaurant stands up to any fine dining we’ve visited on our travels and our server Daniel was efficient, friendly and kind. The sommelier was also well versed but down to earth and we felt we learned a lot from speaking with her. Location is great, steps to the beach or the shops. One day we biked up to the KVR and out to wineries, it was convenient to get to and from the hotel and they made bike storage easy and secure. The grounds are beautiful, impeccable gardens and nice shadey areas to sit. We will definitely return in the future for more getaways.

Your drive up to this very unassuming winery,however, when you walk through the door and into the tasting room it oozes elegance. There are several beautifully appointed tables to be seated at for your tasting experience. We were served by Bonnie who was a great host! It was later in the afternoon when we stopped here so we were hungry, we were able to grab a small charcuterie player to help tie us over. I couldn't make a reservation online for lunch, and so called and was told they couldn't reserve for me and it was 'first come first serve'. This made no sense, and when we arrived the person in the tasting room seemed incredulous that we had no reservation, and was rather patronizing. We received a similar attitude in the dining area but did manage to be seated in the last available table (there were several empty tables at 1:30-2:00 that were apparently already reserved). We felt the service was also a bit patronizing and directive (you WILL have to have 5-6 dishes and you WON'T be able to fit flights of wine and food on your table). In the end the food and wine were both very tasty and the service turned around a little, but overall the experience was disappointing and I would choose or recommend another establishment next time.

I came here for the 2nd time and was very excited to be bringing my parents who were visiting from the UK. This particular staff member greeted us immediately asking for ID, which is kind of understandable for me, but the way she reacted to me, a nearly 36 year old women with my parents, having left it at our accommodation, was not understandable. She was SO patronising, kept commenting on my looks, was GRABBING me by the arms and telling me what to do. It was extremely uncomfortable and weird. After so much weird back and forth (just let us in or don’t?) they accepted a photo of my IDs and we had the unfortunate luck of having her do our tasting. I would have asked for someone else but the place was empty and we had a booking for food that we wanted to have. She was stating we would never get in at any of the other wineries (there were no problems anywhere else and we had much friendly experiences at others). Sure you have to do these checks but you don’t have to treat a 35 year old woman like a 5 year old child. Another customer who looked younger than me came in without ID and they let her in no problem just because they seemed to know her. This one staff member completely ruined the experience and I’d never return because of her.

The amount of homous is good but with 1 pita for all that homous you’re basically forced to get the extra bread. The chicken souvlaki and ribs were really bland, very basic herb seasoning. My wife has allergies so she wasn’t able to have carrots and rice because they’re pre-buttered prior to serving so we asked for a salad instead and were told there would be a small up charge, but $5.25 to add on a salad when we took out 2/3 of the other available sides is a bit ridiculous. For the price of the chicken souvlaki ($29) and ribs ($36) the amount of food is pretty bad compared to a lot of other Greek places I’ve eaten at. Pretty disappointing experience overall.

We went in the off season so it wasn’t busy which was nice. We had a wine tasting and we were even able to try things not in their tasting menu which was awesome. We ended up leaving with 5 bottles and a candle. Our testing fee was waived since we were eating at their restaurant. Their patio is pretty and you have a partial view of the lake. Best halibut cheek carbonara I’ve had. Their portions are pretty small for the price, but I’d come back just for the ambiance and taste.

Pictured is the deconstructed blt- a featured starter and a chicken sandwich we split and they played separately for us without even asking. The service was fantastic - the couple that runs the shop has refined their efficiency to a science. The food here is clearly made with a lot of love. The portions are hearty, generous and just the right amount to not leave you wanting. The sandwiches were phenomenal. We loved that you get to choose your toppings, and can stack on more if you like for a small price. The bread was so fresh - beautiful crust on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Pair that with feta as one of your toppings and you have an explosion of flavours to boot. As I write this review the shop is temporarily closed, but as one of my personal favourites I hope they open again soon.

The food was so very delicious and nutritious. Had the homemade clam chowder and a ham and cheese sandwich. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing as there's no traffic noises and just very soft music and the gentle sounds of a few other guests. The service is excellent as they seem to know when to pop by and otherwise leave you alone to enjoy the food and setting. The food is top class. Chef Tristan is a gentle giant who clearly knows how to prepare fresh and tasty dishes. We loved the pork dish with all the accompanying side sauces and pickles. I liked the squid although it might have been better with no breading. The beets were incredible and the pistachio topping such a nice touch. Beautiful environment directly facing the vineyard with open air views. The food was great, however, it would have been great if there were some main dishes that were not all deep fried. The beet & halumi cheese salad dish was yummy! The sable fish was cooked perfectly and lightly fried with a tasty maple glaze. I wouldn’t recommend the squid because it tasted like it may have been previously frozen before being deep fried but the dill and creamy sauce was nice. We loved the gnocchi and asparagus dish - must try! Quality was incredible for all the dishes but it would be nice to have a bit more variety for main proteins that aren’t fried.
