It was really busy last Saturday night but all of the staff - especially Sal - were super-friendly and helpful. I had a desi chicken mirpuri which I’ve never tried before and it’s one of the best curries I’ve had in years. My husband had mutton curry on the bone and our friend had a veggie curry with paneer. Delicious butter nan and pilau rice. No alcohol licence but there’s an off licence literally around the corner with a huge beer fridge and the restaurant is more than happy to open your beers and bring glasses. There is an a large carte restaurant downstairs, which opens in the evening from 5pm to 11pm. Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and hot beverages can also be ordered. One aspect I like is that free hot sweet Indian cha is available in an urn for diners to help themselves to. As I have been going to the Aagrah restaurants for so many years I know most of the long serving staff who always greet me with a warm smile and handshake. They are always very helpful, attentive and hospitable. We enjoy going to the Aagrah and keep on going back as the standard of their food is so consistently good and the quality of their cooking is so authentic with each different curry having its own distinct flavour and taste - alot of the smaller Indian restaurants only use 2 types of base sauces for all their dishes, which is why their curries taste very similar to each other.

Long wait to have our order taken, ordered 2 Mojitos that both tasted of just soda water (both well stirred) so asked a waitress if we’d been served alcohol free Mojitos, she stated they were alcohol mojitos but both tasted of just soda. The waitress said she could get some alcohol put in (and checked if I was driving, which seemed a strange question considering we both know they were mocktails, I was driving so certainly wouldn’t ask for additional alcohol) she returned with the same drinks and a shot of alcohol (not fresh drinks as I was expecting when you say something doesn’t taste right) stating they could serve a triple measure. Which as a licensee holder with nearly 30 years hospitality experience, I understand, however, our drinks were mocktails. On checking my receipt at home I noted being charged for x2 double measures on top. I called to query this as we didn’t order extra shots to be rudely told if you want ‘extra alcohol’ you have to pay for it. Which would be fair if that was the case however it was missed from the original cocktails. If I ordered a rare steak and was served a well done steak, my expectation would be for a fresh steak cooked to the order and replaced, not charged for the additional steak! As for the discretionary service charge small printed on the bill, I hope it goes to some training on understanding of ‘service and standards’ that seems to be the only let down of a lovely venue serving great food.

The waiter welcomed me, I was worried there wasn't space as it was busy but thankfully there was. The menu is fairly short which is good, makes selection easier. Opted for starter of fishcakes and noodles main. Had Thai the elsewhere the day before and no sooner had I placed my order the starter was there!! I questioned the freshness there. Copper & Moss took an acceptable amount of time for the starter and the wait wasn't dissapointing, fresh and flavoursome. I was regularly asked if all was OK, there certainly wasn't a shortage of staff. When I came to the main I was informed they had run out of rice noodles, to be honest they could have probably said nothing as I hadn't paid much attention to what noodles they were, but I appreciated the honesty. I was offered some rice in addition, which I thought a strange combination, but again accepted the gesture, glad I did. The main was outstanding, the flavours were so fresh, having had a cold my taste wasn't at its best but this didn't make me miss the Thai basil flavours and combinations of seasoning making a delicious meal. The extra rice was used to mop up the remaining juices, lovely rice it was too, much appreciated. All very fresh and glad I had the opportunity to experience this meal and great service. Oh and I can't forget the Bloody Mary, after a b####y tough week it was much needed. Thank you.

The food is all vegan. We ordered a mezze platter and as all the food was prepared on site and fresh it wasn't the cheapest, but totally worth it. Basically various types inc jerk curries , burgers , wings , quesadillas u name it…. Went safe and went for a chicken burger with jerk sauce.Not long at all to wait, was told all food cooked fresh, they weren’t kidding. Came out was a monster of a burger and huge portion of fries. I smashed it down in about 10 mins , amazing flavour, tasted fresh and brilliant flavour. Couldn’t believe what I stumbled on. So much so that after a chat about their trifecta burger challenge I had to come back as only 3 people have eaten it… I wanted to be the 4th!! Came back next day , ordered it! Obviously being Friday night took a bit longer as it was much busier not that I cared , enjoying my drink and waited with anticipation… My god it was a beast …… A block ( I mean block ) of halloumi , one massive chicken breast, two beef patties and two pieces of bacon. It was a beautiful monster with fries. I could barely get my mouth around it but eventually after a long battle I got to the end and as much as I battled I did not want to leave a drop as it tasted unbelievable! What a burger, what a place to eat, I will be back and be recommending this to anyone and everyone. Staff were brilliant , good laugh and the chef was class!!! so in to what he was doing, genuinely cared about what he was cooking and it showed in the food. made everything fresh including the jerk sauce. Visited Shipley for a clinical test appointment and noticed this place across the road. Thought I'd give it a shot and it was the best decision I've made in a while. Been several times now and each time every pizza and corresponding toppings have all been well balanced, flavourful and perfectly cooked. It's an open kitchen, so you can see them at work too ! They may not have a fancy pants, copper glad 100 thousand pound oven.... but what they do have is passion, creativity and a respect for ingredients. I watch them handle those dough pucks, light and pillowy with real life in it. Don't expect thick bases etc...you have to appreciate their particular style and allow the flavours and Chewiness of the dough to make your taste buds tingle. What I received was the opposite: bland, generic slop that tasted almost identical across all three dishes. To top it all off, the person handling the order tried to charge me full price despite the restaurant clearly advertising 20% off for collection. Overall, the entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Between the poor food quality, misleading assurances, and shady billing practices, I would strongly advise everyone to STAY AWAY from this place. Taken here by friends and wasnt sure what to expect. When I found out it was under an old gym in the basement of an old canal side mill was even more dubious. I was wrong, very wrong. Please try it and if you dont believe me, read Giles Coren's review; "There was one other couple in there (brave to open for lunch on a Tuesday in February, not many small local indies outside London do that) and good 1980s music playing and I felt comfy and well looked after in the corner with my view of the canal and pops-in-law for company. “This is what is technically known as an amuse-bouche,” he said, laying two deep-fried battered mushrooms with a swirl of wettish duxelle before me. “But up here we call it ‘summat tasty’.” I have no idea how he had rumbled that I wasn’t from these parts, but the mushrooms were delicious, thank you very much. For my main, I had cute, rare, sweet noisettes of butter-poached local venison loin (£18) with a sweet carrot puree and red wine sauce that came with a shepherd’s pie of braised leg (or possibly shoulder) meat. Not a little pie of the kind you used to get from the likes of Gary Rhodes alongside your posh meat in the 1990s, but a proper big old bubbling shepherd’s pie in an iron skillet that you could feed a family with. Now, normally I don’t do pudding. But I just had the sense I’d have been missing out. So I had the Bakewell tart made to Paul’s gran’s recipe, which was warm and rich with terrific pastry, sitting on zigzags of redcurrant coulis with a pink sphere of ice cream on the top. A picture, it was. And then I had the rhubarb cheesecake (£6.50). You can’t come all this way and not have the early forced (as I did in York a couple of weeks ago). Paul had poached it and laid it over a really first-rate, cheesy rhubarb cheesecake, with some cubes of rhubarb jelly, blobs of custard … Magnificent. And a very good espresso, too. This place has not just charm but a real touch of class. We were going to get a takeaway but decided to eat in. The food was amazing with the best salt and pepper chips I’ve ever tasted ! At first glance the prices seemed on the expensive side but it includes your rice or chips with it so overall it’s reasonable. It comes well presented aswell. The staff were lovely and attentive nothing too much trouble explaining what the different dishes were Sharon is a little bit bonkers and worth a visit just to meet her 😂 Would highly recommend looking forward to visiting again soon.

Honest and non-judgemental. Very happy to help in answering questions about the food. Very good selection of hot and cold meals on the menu. Important note to be made. There were only 2 staff on duty when we went in , the only table free had a lot of empty glasses and plates on, so had to clear it myself, the server behind the bar said she would try but they were rushed off their feet with the lunchtime rush The food was a bit expensive but we had a freshly baked baguette with beef and gravy, not proper roast beef, 1 slice prepacked, spinach and rocket with a garlic mayo, the skinny fries were amazing, served in a wooden tray, never had food served that way before. The butternut, sage and chilli risotto, was superb with Parmesan shavings, generous portion .
