My wife is a Mexican food lover tho she's not Mexican. We ordered chips with guacamole and that was good. We decided to share a combo fajita plate, chicken and steak. Order came out and for some reason the fajita iron skillet wasn't sizzling. It usually sizzles but not this time. The meat was slightly warm. Not to my wife's liking. That's not good news. Rarely if ever has my wife complained about her Mexican dish. Right away she looked at me and said, "the steak is tuff and the chicken is dry." I was stunned! She continued, "I don't care for it." Oh crap! She took the fajita meats out of her tortilla and added the grill veggies instead and ate that instead. Now I have to admit the steak was tuff. Difficult to bite through it for sure. On top of that, the rice given to us was a half cup size. I will never understand why at most Mexican restaurants they give you such a small amount of rice. The beans were served sauce less. Not a good presentation worthy of a 5🌟 rating. A little disappointed.

If you are someone who gets cold was, definitely bring a sweater. As for parking, there is public parking at the Municipal lot a block down. She has also had The Creole bowl which she loved & today she had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, while the sandwich was a bit unwieldy, she said it was delicious & she especially loved the hummus! My main barista was named Mary and we became fast friends because she was so personable, helpful, hilarious, always eager to serve, and wonderful to just talk to. She left soon after my seasonal position ended, but all other baristas are equally kind and dedicated to pleasant experiences. They make fantastic drinks, carry amazing treats, and have the coolest atmosphere of local art covering the walls and always rotating. The owner has land that he uses the coffee grounds to help the soil and several art pieces in the place have coffee grounds saved by the owner, used by local artists. He has an eco-friendly focus, and the place also uses straws made from natural materials (the best ones were bamboo). Dog friendly (met several dog friends), indoor and outdoor seating, free wi-fi, and plenty of power outlets. Absolutely great place for students, business, and all around leisure with a lovely patio to boot. I miss this place and always try to stop in whenever I end up back in Taos. Please give it a try! Rooms by the parking lot get orange light coming through and around the blinds. Wi-fi was great a lot of the time but spotty in the evenings. Plenty of free parking but it could use a little upgrade. Location is terrific! Walking distance to lots of galleries and shopping! We enjoyed the Kit Carson house and museum which is just around the corner.

Where they fail at is their service. When we checked in during the evening we were informed of a complimentary breakfast but that was misleading the only thing they offer was coffee and tea. The next thing that was upsetting was the attitude the next morning, the service desk gave us. Brandy was rude, aggressive and condescending when we informed her about a bar charge on the card, she stated that they needed to check the cameras first before they can remove the charge. We try to inform her that we didn’t go to the bar at all we only went out grabbed a burger from the burger stand up the street and returned back to our room. FTR, I explained what had happened when checking out of El Monte Sagrado and they were surprised the Taos Inn had responded as they did. The checked was dry and looked like it had been there for awhile. Tasted like Jerry and the bread was undercooked and was like nothing but dough. The fries were like rubber and could bounce off the table. The food overall was awful. The drinks were ok. Overall this establishment has consistently served non appetizing food. Maybe it's lack of employees but needs to get better. Top management should conduct an assessment of the food quality and service. Maybe new ownership with better food and service. I hate to complain but this happens alot with this KFC in Taos whenever I purchase food there. BUMMER. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Maybe a Popeyes chicken would do better in Taos.
