It’s very close to City Palace, so it’s a convenient stop after sightseeing. We ordered Dal Baati and Pizza. They use organic and gluten-free ingredients, which is great if you like healthy food. But as a core Indian who loves strong spicy flavors, the Dal Baati didn’t have that traditional Rajasthani taste we were expecting. The pizza was good though, and we enjoyed it. There are two seating options, one is rooftop and second is AC hall, we opted for AC hall as it was a bit hot out. Atmosphere is warm nd cozy. Now the main point, Food. We tried lemon coriander soup, millet veg tikki, millet wrapand on suggestion of Ajoy, we tried Pad thai noodles. The soup was okay, full of veggies. Tikki was very delicious, wraps were made of millets and had a filling of veggies in some kind of Chinese sauce. Nd the Pad thai noodles, which they make from scratch, were really a new and fresh taste for us. This place is known for food, service, comfortable seating and for it's ambience. It does serve veg and non-veg food. We had positive experience. Service food and ambience was delightful. We didn't not prefer it's famous lakeside seating location as it was stinking. All other location were good. You get live music( tabla and flute). This is peak time so I can understand it would not be available as this is new years time. I was however informed that post 5 January, theyd be available by the reservation desk. So, just out of curiosity and to test a theory, I asked for a reservation on 6 January. I was promptly informed that actually they are occupied till 8 January. I then decided to ask them to reserve for 10 January, dinner. You’re close to everything worth visiting in Udaipur, and the lakefront setting is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the poolside area is a mesmerizing ...you could honestly sit there for hours soaking it all in. Coming to rooms...we stayed in the base category room, and while it had an old-world vibe, it felt a bit small and could’ve been cleaner, especially considering the price point. The windows don’t open, which makes the space feel a little closed off ....balconies or openable windows would make a big difference in bringing in that beautiful view. Lets come to service....this is where the experience dipped a little. There seemed to be only one staff member handling almost everything..luggage, room service, housekeeping and he was clearly overworked. The effort was appreciated, but the hotel definitely needs more helping hands. The staff overall wasn’t rude, but they also weren’t particularly warm or proactive....something you’d expect at a five-star property. The breakfast buffet was decent for Indian taste buds...nothing extravagant, but good enough. Service during breakfast was again quite slow. You often had to ask (and ask again) for things. Despite the service hiccups, I’d still recommend staying here at least once mainly for the location, views, and that timeless palace charm. Just don’t expect the same level of attentiveness you’d get at other Taj/or Marriott/Accor properties.

We came and we didn't expect much but were tired from all the walking and sightseeing so we went upstairs for a floor seating arrangement. You can't believe the comfy feeling we experienced, it was like coming back home. Then one boy, the server brought us some fried noodles, fried pakora and schezwan sauce as a welcome gesture. We took our time ordering as we were tired but he didn't hurry us. He slowly took note of our orders. Then the hot and sour and mushroom soup came first. It was soo yummy that we enjoyed it as if that was our last meal on earth 🤣jokes apart. It was really good. Then our fried rice and chicken chilly came and we didn't leave anything behind. While the housekeeping team did a lovely job decorating our room (a sweet gesture that truly made me smile), overall our experience felt below expectations for a five-star hotel, The hotel seemed completely sold out, and the staff appeared stretched thin. I understand it was a busy festive period, but that's something a hotel of this level should be prepared for, We had booked an Aravalli view room, but were told we were "upgraded" to a pool-side one. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like an upgrade at all, the room was quite small and congested, and we couldn't keep the drapes open since the pool area was right outside. There was also constant noise from outside and adjoining rooms, which made it hard to relax The best part of our stay was the dinner buffet at the Aravalli restaurant. The standards have dropped. The grand welcome with the music and shower of flower petals and all was a good gesture, but what’s the use of all that when basic amenities were not right. Food was average. After serving soup in the room, the waiter was sent 3 times to the room to ask about billing. They shouldn’t have disturbed us for the next 1 hour atleast after serving food. That’s common sense. However, Staff was humble. Our butler Mr.Akash deserves a special mention as he was just one call away and took good care of all our needs. We were frustrated with the TV Internet connectivity issues. They also couldn’t get a simple Indian tea right and eggs were never upto the mark. The staff was confused whether they had a separate cafe menu or not. Because of the rains, the floors were slippery and I almost slipped a couple of times. Our next destination is the Leela palace, Jaipur and I hope they don’t let us down there.

The staff is very friendly and supportive. They provided us early check in. The view of pichola lake from this property is very serene. The rooms are comfy. Phones were not working buy they provided us cell numbers for any need to be addressed and were very attentive to all our needs. Since it is lake view property and most of the lakes are situated at old Udaipur, cab couldn't go to these places, so best conveyance channel is auto rickshaw. All in all it was a good experience.

There is no WiFi, TV in the room wasn’t working, AC remote was not working, you have to call in advance for hot water and doesn’t last for more than 40 mins till you have to call again, fridge was turned off from the switch even though they knew we were going to come in well in advance, the pool was dirty and we had to ask them to clean, the rooms have curtains for the roof so it brightens up during the day and you can do nothing about it, lizards entered the room because there isn’t a concrete roof, there is no WiFi in the cottages, no microwave, no hand towels until you ask them to provide, blankets and pillows are old and the bed is spring which feels bad. A big one was that the intercoms do not work and they are aware of it so instead they ask you to call from your personal phone. This was true for both of my rooms I booked. Overall I would not stay here and it doesn’t look like the photos at all. I would not call it a 4 star hotel as here in google but rather a 2 star hotel at best.

He started giving excuses that it was one of the rare occasions that he needed to outsource the naan as his tandoor was not ready. I didn't go there to eat any outsourced food. So we visited the place and ordered hakka noodles and their very famous veg sizzler. We were told while we were ordering that hakka noodles will be served with a gravy, I thought noodles will come along with a Chinese gray in another bowl but they served us boiled noodles topped with vegetable gravy which tasted like just corn flour and nothing more. That was a disappointment. Next came vegetable sizzler. It had some chowmein, French fries, 1 potato cutlet, stuffed capsicum and stuffed tomato with gravy. Again the gravy had too much corn flour and the sizzler wasn't as good as they used to serve in their previous outlet. Total bill for these two dishes was INR 260 /- which is very affordable considering the portion sizes only if the dishes taste equally good. Team Chef's venture please take my criticism positively and do try to find out what went wrong because now a days Chinese food is available in every nook and corner of the city, taste and service is what makes a customer come back to a cafe.
