It did not disappoint at all. My husband was working and I ordered a take out cappuccino for him and asked for a table for myself once I’d dropped his coffee of to him. I was offered a couple of tables and it was spotlessly clean. I was offered a menu once seated. I ordered the almond croissant and the granola pot to go with my cappuccino. It arrived and the croissant was HUGE! The granola was absolutely gorgeous, fresh and tasty. Let’s get to the croissant - it was the best almond croissant I have tasted. The pastry was light and fluffy and the filling was plentiful. It was a taste sensation. I got chatting to the lady sat on the next table and even shared it with her as it was too big for me to finish!! It was difficult to eat it without a mmmm this is delicious after every mouthful! I loved the community feel of the place either lots of people popping in on their own for a coffee to couples and friends meeting for a chat.I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and didn’t feel rushed at all and it was super busy. I live in Leeds so a bit far to just pop in but if you are visiting Leighton Buzzard or live there you should 100% give it a go.

One of the staff went into the kitchen and asked where the order was (the door closed so we couldn’t hear anything else) they then came out, went to the til to look at what we ordered and came over and said ‘it’s coming out right now, can I check you ordered *read order* They went back into the kitchen to obviously tell them what our order was as the kitchen hadnt been told (although they already told us it was coming) We then had to wait for it to actually be made. So twice they forgot and tried to give an excuse. Just say an error has been made! Anyway when the spicy meatball toastie came there was zero spice. My salmon bagel was made from watery chopped bits of salmon, for near on £8 I would expect slices of smoked salmon. I ate all I could because I was absolutely starving but it just tasted like water with cream cheese inside a bagel that had been slightly heated up. Look the staff were polite and friendly but took no accountability for the issues, lied to us and the food wasn’t great.

Lovely building and when it first opened years ago was a lovely place to go and eat. Not sure what's going on here but the food we had was dry and I would describe the pie of the day and mash as claggy. All cakes etc pretty sure we're from Costco or somewhere like that. Coffee was weak and milky. Menu looks like it's been taken from a1980s restaurant and seems like they have just thrown a load of things in their to fill it up. Felt for the waitress as again just seemed to be there and didn't look like she had much direction or training. We met here for breakfast once a month before it shut down and always found yeh staff super friendly and the food was great. We revisited for the first time this week and were really disappointed. The staff, as usually were really friendly, although you now order at the bar rather than taking your order at the table. Not a problem for us! We had full English breakfast (no black pudding option as before) the bacon was hard, the fried eggs over cooked. The doorstep toast has been replaced by a slice of sourdough which had hardly seen the toaster. The vine tomatoes had been replaced with half an uncooked tomato. The hash brown (2 previously) was replaced by one which was stone cold in the centre. The lovely large butcher sausage has been replaced by 2 smaller sausages at a much lower quality. We really want this place to succeed as we enjoyed coming here so much previously and great to have the place reopen in the town. I really hope the owners can get the food quality back to what it was. I will give it another try but if we get the same food quality we will unfortunately have to go elsewhere.

I ordered a Full English and the wife ordered porridge with berries and poached eggs on toast to follow, and two black coffees, the coffee was promptly served, thou we both thought it was poor, the full English was excellent sourdough toast, sausage, eggs, bacon all X2 hash-brown , mushrooms and baked beans, very impressed cooked well. Wife porridge & Berries and poached Eggs on toast were better than expected too. Service was good at least 2-3 waitresses on duty and attentive. I had to ask, if the restaurant was still under the previous owner, and it wasn’t and I guessing they are not part of the same franchise as the previous owners too. Waitress told they were all new staff. So could explain some of the poor reviews. Ordering at the till is a bad when several customers are trying to order, there is not enough room, they are too close to the tables.

Despite there being a sign on the counter both staff members looked blankly at me when ordering and insisted no such item existed. I was asked 4 times whether or not I wanted to eat in and I said take away each time. The staff member then took the next customers order while the other made food, nobody was actually making the ordered drinks yet.
