I’m writing this review with genuine disappointment, because this used to be one of my favorite spots for breakfast with family and friends. We’ve been coming here for years, always enjoying the good food, the cozy atmosphere, and the friendly service. It’s the kind of place we’d recommend to others without hesitation.
On our most recent visit, we were having breakfast with a close friend we hadn’t seen in a long time. The food was as delicious as ever, and the restaurant manager even came by to check on us in a kind and polite way.
While my friend was still finishing his pancakes and sipping his coffee, our server came over and placed the check on the table. We didn’t think much of it at first, assuming it was just ready whenever we were. But within a few short minutes, he came back again, asking if we were done. We politely said we just needed a few more minutes. Moments later, he returned yet again to ask the same question.
Finally, he came back one last time, visibly impatient, and told us there was a “time limit policy.” This policy had never once been mentioned to us, not when we were seated, not on the menu, and certainly not during any of our many previous visits. What made things worse was the way it was handled: he stood right next to our table, hovering and staring as we awkwardly placed our cards into the check folder. It felt like we were being pushed out, as if we had done something wrong simply for enjoying our meal and conversation.
That moment completely ruined what had been a wonderful morning. The warmth and hospitality that this restaurant once stood for vanished instantly, replaced by a feeling of embarrassment and discomfort. We didn’t linger after that, we paid and left quietly, all of us stunned and disappointed.
As someone who works in hospitality myself, I completely understand the importance of keeping tables turning and managing flow during busy hours. But there is a right way to do that, one that treats guests with respect and dignity. What we experienced was the opposite.
To the management: I hope you take this feedback to heart. You didn’t just lose a sale that morning, you lost loyal customers who truly loved coming here. No one should ever be made to feel rushed, unwelcome, or like an inconvenience for simply enjoying their breakfast.
If you’re looking for a relaxing place to share a meal and conversation with friends or family, sadly, I can no longer recommend this restaurant.
