Saw this one on line. This venue is dog friendly and we were made very welcome. I can honestly saw this a great venue fantastic range of food. You can have carvery or something off the menus. We had storm Benjamin passing this was a great place e to ride out the storm. Had a great meal fantastic venue and most of all staff are a credit to the management team. Firstly it is quite dark inside and needs updating,the man who showed us to our table muttered something about the information being on the board, later realised he meant the specials....my partner had poached prawns to start which she enjoyed, I thought the prawns were overcooked and chewy personally... I had pie of the day (chicken and bacon) with roast carrots and mash and braised cabbage, the pie was ok, there was one old looking carrot and a load of cabbage and the mash was dry and not very nice, my partner had crab linguine (£22) the overwhelming taste of the dish was lemon and just overall it wasn't nice to eat, im my opinion better off going to the rock inn, had a steak here tonight and it was phenomenal, she had the crab salad and it was delicious, the staff were so much more welcoming and nice also it was just a nicer place to be.

The seafood platter was absolutely fantastic – fresh, full of flavour and really generous in portion. You could tell everything was top quality and so well prepared. It appeared friendly & is in a good position for views, therefore we decided to walk back down the next late afternoon/evening for food & a few drinks. However, as we were sitting enjoying more drinks, we were asked to move because the table that we were sat at had been booked for 10 minutes time for another group to eat. That was fine, but they could have put those people at a table for 2 rather than make 4 of us move, but we moved to a table that the staff had said was available & it was fine. We had a couple more drinks & thought that we would stay for the live music. However, they same bar lady came & told us that a booking had just come in & we would have to move again. 1 minute later a man, came up & in a not very nice way, demanded that we move as the other people were already in the bar area, whilst we were getting our bits together he was clearing the table, essentially shoving us out. The pub was, by this time quite busy, but they did not try to find us somewhere else to sit, therefore, instead of having a nice evening spending money over the bar & enjoining the live music, we left, quite upset (in an angry way, not crying) about the way in which we were treated. I feel that they should have told the booking people that they were full or had at least been nice about it & tried to find us somewhere else to sit. We we're visitors to Appledore & we will visit again, but I don't think that we will be visiting The Beaver Inn again! Such a shame for our last evening of an otherwise fab stay.

The breakfast was excellent, freshly baked pastries, a wide selection of hot dishes all freshly made and amazing value. We visited last Sunday for Father’s Day and there was a set menu for this day. Even though it was the evening all options were still available on the menu after a busy lunchtime. All of the food looked amazing when it arrived and tasted just as good. The food was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I had the pepperoni pizza and unfortunately they had ran out of pepperoni. They immediately offered me chorizo instead which was absolutely divine. I went with my family (6 total) and the service was very warm, welcoming and friendly. The views are lovely and the overall meal filled us up perfectly and both my younger brothers (who are normally fussy) finished both their meals and were super full! There was an interesting incident where a group of children were running around and misusing the disabled lift, however the staff dealt with it professionally and I think they did a great job in a difficult situation. Our table of 16 were all welcomed as we arrived and made to feel comfortable. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Although we had bought a cake this was brought to the table with additions to the presentation of the serving plate which made it look gorgeous. Service staff were amazing, very personable and had a sense of humour. I came with the family nearly everyday and was never disappointed. The house is well kept and large enough for 10 comfortably. The rooms are all a good size and well finished. The kitchen is generally well equipped with more than enough crockery for a couple of meals.
