There were no spaces to park in the car park so had to find a place further away. The service was ok albeit a bit slow due to the number of servers and it being a busy evening. Our food was actually very nice although a side was missing along with the cutlery. My first and second choice dessert was not available which was a shame as I was looking forward to trying the french toast. I will be back in the future and hopefully pick a time when it's a little quieter for a better experience perhaps.

I had heard of the Treacle Mine doing good food but had never been. My step-daughter suggested we booked and I'm glad we did as it was very busy. There was a wait for a parking space outside and you need to validate your car once in the restaurant. You are given 3 hours and can always request longer if needed. We ended up only needing about an hour as service was so prompt. We walked in and were immediately shown our table, despite being early. Once at our table we could help ourselves to the continental selection, which was vast. Alpro soya milk was available, so I had cereal and toast. My wife had fresh fruit and my 2-year-old enjoyed some grapes. The vegan cooked breakfast includes This Isn't Bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns, mushrooms and tomatoes (which were missed from ours). All were well cooked and hot. I put my hash browns, sausages and bacon into a sourdough muffin - it was delicious! We had all of this, as well as unlimited fruit juices, tea and coffee for £9.99 each and children eat free. You just pay at the bar afterwards when you're ready. It was such good value, especially as we could have had more but we're so full that we didn't need any lunch. I’ve driven past it SO many times but if I’m honest had been put off by the dark frontage and the fact it’s on a busy road - but we went in after a long and exhausting week and it was an utter joy and delight! We stayed to visit local attractions. The room was well sized, comfortable, and well presented. Special mention, good shower pressure. Pub is great, quirky in design with all you need and want from the drinks offering. We had dinner and breakfast, which did not disappoint. Jane and Ella were amazing staff, supportive, chatty, and great fun, making our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended, and we would certainly return.

We ordered at the bar with a lady who was pleasant but not overly friendly. Food wise we ordered leek and potato soup, a fish pate/mouse starter and a fish finger sandwich. Unfortunately, none of us were blown away with our food at all. The fish starter was lacking fish for a start but was served with a couple of slices of good quality toasted bread which was nice. The soup was sadly rather bland and the fish finger sandwich that I had, well half of it was left. The fish fingers were just full of what I could only describe as fillers, so potato and rusk. I could barely taste any fish and felt as if I was eating potato croquettes. It was served on good quality fresh granary bread but even the bread was inedible as it was smeared in far too much butter and mayonnaise so with the lack of fish, that was all that could be tasted. I did mention that I was rather disappointed with the sandwich to the lady that served us at the bar but was responded with, ‘Oh really, usually the customers love them’ with a very meaningless apology. Well I certainly didn’t. Neither of us will be going back here for food which is a shame as it used to be really lovely.
