Great local place for food and brew in Ohiopyle. Seating is a bit limited inside, but that is fixed by using the outside patio. We ended up sitting with a local couple and chatted the time away.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and was delish. I got the Fish Taco and my wife got the grilled chicken sandwich. I got a Trail Maker beer which was a nice ale. Not too light with a little bite.
This is within the Ohiopyle State Park. It is right next to the train tracks and at the end of Garrent Road. This is also the start of the Laurel Highland Trail.

Stopped in after a long hike in the rain. They welcomed my dog and me in the outdoor bar and let us sit at the bar so we wouldn’t get wet. They had 8 beers on tap, I tried 6 small pours. All 6 were local and tasty. The food menu had a great variety, it was truly very hard to decide, I might return to try more things on the menu! The brisket, broccolini and fresh cut fries were amazing! The brisket was so tender and the bbq sauce was delicious! And everyone is so friendly; you definitely get the small town vibes.

The restaurant is in a super cool location you can actually hear the river flowing nearby, and the train runs right in front of the building, which was awesome to see and hear while eating. It really gives the place a neat atmosphere that you don’t get everywhere. However, the service was a little slow and honestly kind of lackluster, and the food itself was just okay. It’s a BBQ place, but I’m from Texas… so my standards are pretty high. The brisket was pretty dry, more like thick bacon, and didn’t have much flavor it actually had that kind of old, reheated meat taste. Their BBQ sauce was good, though, and definitely helped bring some life back into it. The seasoned fries were actually really solid when they say seasoned, they mean it! Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience at all, just not my favorite BBQ spot, especially compared to what I’m used to back home.

We did not expect to find such excellent vegetarian options in this small town. Often restaurants will have one option for vegetarians. Falls City Pub had many choices. It was clear someone had thought about how to offer excellent choices for everyone. It was hard to choose!

The staff is wonderful! I called in advance because, we had a very large tourist group from Asia. So we wrote down our twenty-two meal selections with each person’s name. The staff prepared our meals and wrote each person’s name and selection on the box. They served our food in record time! I only wish I would have remembered to take a picture of each meal! But here is a picture of one small stack of the 22. The food was very fresh, warm, and delicious. Very large portions! The manager did an excellent job organizing and made checking out a breeze. The menu has a wide variety. It is nice to sit in the shade outside. The general store is unique with souvenirs, clothes, camp supplies, mini mart food, etc. They also have baked goods and ice cream. Their pumpkin ice cream in a waffle cone is a treat, though they have a wonderful selection of many flavors!

This a very cute store/restaurant. The breakfast sandwich was good, they made it fresh to order. The coffee was just ok. In the evening we came back for ice cream. The peanut butter overload. Is the treat everyone needs in their lives! Nothing like a frozen treat while taking in the sites of a rushing river. They sell some really nice merchandise inside. I still regret not purchasing a hat. I guess I will have to next time.

Hot dog and fries looked delicious, and got them my food in less than 5 minutes. I sat down to eat and sadly the fries were very hard and my hotdog was room temperature. I got a buffalo dog and was kinda disappointed in the food.
I ended up eating a few fries and half the hot dog. Im sure if the fries were not rock hard and the hot dog was hot it would have been a very good meal.
Store itself is neat with a little bit of everything for all your needs. I was able to restock a few random supplies for my overland adventures.

The lady handling the food at the outside counter had no gloves on while she was sweating all over everything, handling fries with her bare hands and wiping her hands on her clothes. The fries had so much sand/grit it felt like I was chewing on a pile of sand. Someone obviously didn’t know you need to wash and scrub potatoes for fresh fries. Nice spot which seems like it peaked in the 80s and has slowly been eroded of its charm.
Food is overpriced for the amount and quality received. For example, a $15 meat sandwich gets you maybe 2 strips of anemic and unseasoned beef with a nice 1 inch dab of mayo.
"Full size" burgers are comparable to a Wendy's kids meal burger and only take up about half the bun (where's the beef?).
Pizza is bland and the sauce is basically Red-40 with a hint tomato flavor.
I guess that with no real competition around, there's no incentive for acceptable quality.

Oh boy. This is not the falls market I once knew. Ordered food and got a nasty box of inedible slop. The burger was a half frozen, half burned puck of tvp. I don't think there was a morsel of beef. Gave the food back and got a refund. Clearly, the owners don't care about quality or cleanliness for that matter. The food tasted good. I got a 14” 2 topping pizza and I enjoyed it. I do think the place could use some updating inside, especially the bathroom.
I will also say I think $18.50 for a 2 topping 14” pizza seems high (14.50 for just cheese and 2 dollars per added topping). This is just my opinion though. Their staff is also really friendly and nice.

I walked up the stairs and one of the employees is smoking weed on her break…. She was in fact an employee, she was wearing the “uniform”. Nope, they only bake muffins and a few other things. A bakery has big displays of pastries. So they are basically a sandwich place, and NOT a bakery! Bakery this place is not, just 1 case with maybe 6 different doughnut assortments and a couple muffins. The young girl behind the counter had a indifferent attitude on waiting on us. The sign for this place on the main street was confusing as there was no parking and we ended up parking in an alley with sign arrows pointing in to different directions to the entrance. The muffin I purchased was ok, I've had better. I don't think I will be returning.

Dropped by here on the way and enjoyed our short stay. The shop has got a fantastic view across the river and there's a lot of parking across the street if you don't like to parallel park. At least during our visit, they only had an outdoor area for sitting, which could be great during warmer seasons, but a challenge during winter. Food portion is average for a sandwich or a dog. If you a hungry person, you might need to ask two items to go. People with allergies or intolerance, their menu is customized for your needs whether you’re asking savories or sweets. Kudos to the team for compostable containers.

I cannot say enough about this place!
The owners were quite possibly the most welcoming and friendly people you could encounter.
Their focus is the customers experience, right down to filling water bowls for their four legged guests.
The live music, the servers, the menu, I mean it was all incredible.
I'm a picky eater and I cleaned my plate.
The smash burger and French fries alone are enough to come again.
They have toys to entertain children, a great kids menu and even something on the menu for the dogs.
I was actually shocked when I got my bill. The prices floored me. You can feed your entire family at the Twisted Spoke for the price of one meal in a usual "vacation" spot.
This restaurant is hands down one of the best places in Ohiopyle and an absolute MUST GO if you're in town.

We stopped by after a day out in Ohiopyle and couldn’t have picked a better place. The vibe was laid-back and cozy — perfect for a post-adventure meal.
I had the Mediterranean Grain Bowl with shrimp, and we also shared some chips & guac — everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. We also tried a Yuengling draft and their signature drink, the Twisted Spoke, which was a great surprise. Refreshing and well-balanced!

What a great spot! We originally were headed to the Ohiopyle Bakery, but the bakery is now inside and a part of Paddlers Pizza. The food was great and there was nice outdoor seating and umbrellas. The best part was the gluten free options. I got a gluten free Italian sandwich and a raspberry bar. They had cookies, muffins, and breakfast sandwiches.
