We were a party at 5. As the host told us it was a 10-minute wait as she cleaned off the table after she cleaned the table she still had us wait an additional 5 minutes before she seated us which we found odd. One seated it wold be another 10 minutes before anyone took our drink orders. The server it was very nice. Food included in our order where's the calamari, crab dip, Brussels. While tasty, the crab dip was soupy, so we were all disappointed. The lobster special did not come with a side it only came with a salad or soup so you have to order an additional side if you wanted one. The soup choice underwhelming, a tortellini and sausage soup. While cream of crab was on their menu they only offered a tortellini and sausage soup as your choice. One of the guests with us ordered steak frite, medium, the steak was well done bummer for her. Another word for turkey Burger was not tasty and I ordered the fish and chips which was a catfish and it was over fried. Overall experience was lackluster unfortunately we wanted to like this restaurant but it didn't make the cut. We've been in Lewes for over 5 years now, vacationing here for several years before living here and we've been taking our guests to several different restaurants in the area and unfortunately Striper Bites disappointed.

I was either going to be pleased or blown away. I am pleased to say that the swordfish I had that day was the best fish dinner I have ever eaten in all my life. Blown completely out of the water! Matt’s is at least 7 hours from my home in Northern NY and I will go on record to say that I will never take 81 past Pennsylvania again as long as I can detour to the coast and have a meal at Matt’s. At 825 ish I asked for more crabs, the waitress thought I was joking according to her, so when she came back with the check and I asked where my crabs were, she said “I thought you were joking.” She went to get more crabs but came back and said “they said you are over your time limit. But their fish and chips is so excellent, I have to order it every time I’m there. Service is always excellent and we are not neglected even when the place is really hopping. The managers always take time to come over and check on us. I appreciate that they have a selection of beers brewed locally and that is one thing I try a different item every time we are there. This year we had superb weather so we really enjoy the outdoor dining. if you are too hot, the staff will bring you a little fan. If you are too cold, they will bring you a little heater. Since this is off the beaten track, you will have to trust Google maps to get you there. But it is well worth the side trip from busy US Route one. And and it is a good alternative to the busy and overpriced restaurants in the tourist towns.

Service was slow but the staff were pleasant. Among our entrees the fried shrimp dish did not meet personal quality expectation, cocktail sauce was solidified, chicken was overcooked and tasted like fish for the caeser salad. All you can eat crabs were cooked well and maintained the medium size as advertised. Due to there being a few crab shacks in Rehoboth and this restaurant being a member the Zogg's family (a company I that respect) I personally expected better from tonight's dinner.

Have referred many friends to them and the crabs have been great over the years. We are local. We had a bad experience over the 4th of July weekend. Ordered 4 dozen medium to large - ahead of time. My daughter picked up and did not check the crabs. most were light medium. Very tasty, but not what we expected. I did call to express my disappointment but have not heard back. We will order again for Labor Day weekend but will check the crab size. That would be my recommendation. Otherwise, the taste, service and price is great.

Their website appears to be working and business continuity appears to be sound as they have 4.5 Google rating. So based on the rating decided to order some for dinner and what an utter disappointment and disaster. The order was placed on line with a confirmation email and we tried to call multiple times throughout the day, no one picked up. So in reality how “good” is their business??? When arriving to pick up they gave some excuse that their online order was down or out of service… while received an email confirmation with the confirmation number. And we tried to call multiple times to get exact quote for the price of the order and they literally didn’t pick up. When rating the business it’s not just about the quality or taste of food and price, but the entire package of the experience. Since we didn’t get a taste of the crabs we can’t rate but customer service is utterly poor and atrocious. The business must be reliable, consistent, and meets expectations as noted or follow through as the website and reviews state.
