I had looked for good places to eat, to try and sample the local, famous dishes, and this place came up with a 4.9 stars so I marked it. I think a cab ride is better; there are times when you're walking right next to the road surface, and there is a ton of humidity in the Bahamas. Off of that we ordered the jerk chicken buns and the guava duff. What's really nice is they have this little historical display and part of it tells the story of the duff; so yeah, a must read while waiting for your food. The cinnamon roll was very nice, but not above and beyond all other cinnamon rolls. The buns are really like mini-tacos and the shell is this soft, white, dough, very similar to what you'd get in a Chinese dim-sum bun. So it's a puffy, spongy thing that they curl and put the filling in. These were very tasty. I'd recommend getting at least one per person. They have different flavors, but were told the jerk chicken were best and they did not disappoint. We then dug into the duff. This was very tasty, again, seemingly made of the same white, puffy dough as the buns with chunks of guava in the bottom. But this isn't wrapped, this is a unit unto itself. They have different fillings, too, but the guava is the famous one. It is then generously covered in the sauce which is rich and sweet and makes the whole thing delicious. My wife and I split one of these and that was fine. A nice place. They need to include the buns and duffs on the TV menus, just rotate them with the breakfast items, as it is a little confusing when you're looking for duff and buns and don't see them. Great place. Complimentary breakfast was great, wonderful staff, and overall very clean! The rooms were clean but outdated, and some water pressure troubles with the shower. There was also a power outage at a point that really inconvenienced us. The staff though, they immediately helped out, allowed us into a new room with power, while they were getting the other side of the hotel fixed. The staff were very respectful and understanding through any of these problems and made sure that we were taken care of. The location was absolutely perfect and having the benefits of being able to go over to the Atlantis Hotel made this vacation absolutely wonderful. Service is good as far as staff everyone is super friendly and nice, they really do go above and beyond for you. Mybfridge didn’t work for three of the five days I was there, room had a moldy smell, I’m assuming just from lack of vents in the restrooms where the shower is and the amount of ppl who used the room from coming in and being wet from beach/pool there’s carpet there. Food on the premises isn’t good at all very overpriced and tip already included makes everything way over priced. They also charge ur card $800 when u check in which I didn’t see it state that anywhere on the website. So pretty much u pay what u pay when u book it online plus the extra $1000+ fees due at check in. They say you get it back but end up charging it all to ur card after u leave. Personally not worth it, u can stay at a hotel for cheaper you don’t need the restaurants and water park. I will give it a 6/10 if I had to rate it! I’d like to say again the staff is top tier every single one of them! We only had one bad experience with Frank and Lola’s staff two ladies and one gentleman were super rude.
