I've had a giftcard from CSC for a long time and was excited to finally use it after my psyical therapy appointment nearby. I asked the employee what she suggested. Some coffee ice cream mixture that was tastey. I thought I'd order a vanilla shake thinking that would be difficult to mess up. Boy was I wrong. it was so sickingly sweet...tasted like frosting. Came back to see if I could exchange it and was told NO. Because I had left the store briefly. Like 3 minutes. The whole experience was just rotten to the core. Managare contacted me and said she would make me a new shake of my choosing. Under one condition, that I would have to come in on a certain day at a certain time which I was not available. I purchased their lemon blackberry streusel and it left a lot to be desired. The lemon custard was the best part, but there wasn’t quite enough lemon flavor to make it refreshing. In addition to this, the streusel topping was heavy and did not seem to add much to the flavor profile. The most egregious part was the blackberry preserve swirls as they looked strangely pale. When I was finally able to find it buried under the half pint it was extremely grainy and hardly a blackberry color. I expect deep blackberry swirls with a fruity note, but it was all pretty dull. This would all be fine if the half pint wasn’t $12. Otherwise the people who worked there were very nice, I hope that I happened to be the one person who got a bad batch of ice cream.

We stopped at the Cabazon outlets to check out a couple of stores and serendipitously ran into a new favorite. Oh my goodness. We, really I, got 2 1/2 pints and they were too good to eat slowly. Lemon, blackberry, streusel is like eating the best lemon/berry dessert but cold. And I also Honey Crème Brûlée and it was also amazing. Spent the week in the desert soaking up some sun and then went out of my way, about 30 mins, to find their other location in Palm Desert. The Lemon blackberry was so good I didn’t want to NOT get it and I also added Southern Banana pudding. I wish I had room to try all the flavors but these 3 were amazing and I got the chance to hear their story from starting in 2021 until now straight from the owner’s mouth.
