When it was confirmed by waiter that it's vegan, I cross checked regarding the milk (to be used in shake) with the chef who already took the order from waiter and found that the milk is animal based. Thanks for your advice regarding coconut milk but this is not the first day being a vegan nor is this the first time I ordered something at a restaurant but let me tell you coconut milk can be made without any milk solids too.. also w.r.t.the level of tolerance of cross contamination, the choice should be left to the customer after mentioning the same instead of waiters confirming the dish is vegan without checking with the owner or atleast the chef. For your information, this was my second order on that day at your restaurant (the first being in the afternoon which was catered by one knowledgeable waiter who served us in the morning and was not available to serve again and only to came up to reiterate that the icecream at your place can't be plant-based and that they don't have the owner's contact number). And for a returning customer this was a pretty bad experience. 'better not test the waiters'? The food is fantastic and the view is just as impressive. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size they offer. The jhol momos are the highlight. I tried their cocktails and momos, and both were genuinely so good. The flavors were spot on, and everything was nicely presented. The ambiance was super calm and peaceful. This is a perfect place to gaze the beautiful sunset. They even have a superb cafe running at the property providing both Indoor & Outdoor sitting ( Serving Starts at 5.30 pm). They have wonderful Clifftop rooms for the guests. It's location and views are perfect for travellers to Relax and Unwind causing to its over occupancy at times. We dinner at their Sundowner cafe and ordered food and a few mocktails. Everything tasted so good. We were taken away from the taste. Also their staff was friendly and courteous. While planning for Varkala, Trip is Life was the first place that popped up in the list for the Places to visit in Varkala. I would rightfully agree after our wonderful experience here. They have been so generous with the space, making one cabin only. Makes you feel so exclusive and privileged to have all that space and the glorious view all to yourself. We absolutely loved it. Just a few improvements that could have made the stay a tad better: - More comfy seating over all. A nice chair inside the cabin and more comfy lounge chairs at the pool. Maybe with a bed on the frame so it wasn’t so hard. Same with the dining chairs. A cushion could do wonders. - more hooks in the bathroom or a closed wardrobe space would have made it more convenient - a folding table to put your suitcase on. But honestly these are finer details. The cakes and tarts are really delicious. Quality ingredients are used and the desserts change often so you can taste different ones. Today I had the gluten free beetroot and chocolate cake and it was Divine! Even though it is located on a main Street, the ambiance is chilled. The tables are outside under a roof, in an open area.
