We initially went in for a full breakfast based on reviews but they don’t do full breakfasts. The table legs are very close together and metal so not the most comfortable when sitting. The hot drinks weren’t really hot either. The foam on latte was cold and the coffee was luke warm and the flat white was pretty cold. Prices were reasonable snd cake selection looked fairly good

On our third attempt it was open so went inside and stood at the counter only to be completely ignored by the two members of staff, after standing there for a few minutes we presumed it was table service so took a seat . Again we were just ignored so eventually got up and left. It’s a common courtesy to greet customers on arrival and advise if it’s table service etc. we stumbled on another cafe down the road where we were greeted on arrival with a friendly hello and told to take a seat and we’d be served as soon as possible. They seem to be really eco conscious, which makes spending here easy. The low ceilings and neutral toned decor gives a sense of calm. Real plants and crafty design features is a feast for the green-fingered type. There is only one toilet which i could see and it was hard to work out if it was occupied or not. I would say the floor space would not work for those in wheelchairs or pushchairs. We did not eat there, however it looked all vegetarian or vegan 🤩🥳 The drinks we had were tasty and were served at our table with a smile. There are board games available to play at no cost.

I enjoyed Haddock and Chips with Mushy Peas. The fish was perfectly cooked and the batter was light and crispy. Great to see a bar there, so I had a pint as well. The place was busy which is always an indication that it has a good local following. The table service was very good and the food came quickly. There is a separate takeaway area and that was busy as well. A great experience that I must do again on my next visit. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant during the busy summer holiday season. The food was both delicious and nicely presented. Our takeaway meal during the October half-term was also excellent, some of the best takeaway fish and chips we've had in a long time. The portions were generous and freshly cooked to order. The Duck Parfait was sublime and the Hake Kiev was also very tasty, albeit a little on the small side. Service was friendly too. If you’re looking for a delicious meal in a lovely surrounds, then The Old Sail Loft Restaurant will certainly tick all the boxes in Looe.

This visit we stayed for lunch. While the food was tasty everything else was a huge disappointment. I am disabled with an access card, one of my disabilities means urgency for the toilet. When I went to go the toilet it had a sign on stating ‘out of order’. I asked a staff member if they had another toilet I could use. I was told no it’s out of order there are public ones somewhere down there in town, with a vague point and told that they had never used them so didn’t know their location. I had to go in search for the toilet, which was also a problem as I have limited mobility due to my disabilities. When I eventually found it there was a huge queue. When I finally got back my child and partner they had finished as they had been waiting so long we left, meaning I didn’t really get to experience anything relaxing or nice from the cafe. The food also came with dirty cutlery and dirty saucer for the tea. It isn’t really good enough to not have a working toilet there is a legal requirement over 10 seats which there are more than that. Staff could do with being a bit friendlier and making sure that the customer asking for toilet access, is helped to find a solution on site.

It is by far our favourite cafe in Looe & has been for many years (we have been to every cafe in Looe). They have a great selection of meals in their fantastic menu, it’s always great food. They also have an excellent cake selection as well & the added option of their own ice cream for dessert as well, which is delicious (we sampled a few flavours earlier in the week). What we also love about The Old Boat House is their location, being located at the harbour side in East Looe with the added advantage of an alcohol licence we can literally sit back, take in the views whilst enjoying a glass of wine together taking in the views, we love it, nowhere compares. Today, after many years of visiting the cafe on holiday we actually met the owners, what a lovely family. It is a real family affair, parents & their daughters, all so friendly & hard working, customer service always on point. If you haven’t been to Looe yet? We went into here as all the others were jam packed and wanted somewhere a little quieter, but I feel I can see why it was empty. Friendly staff little varied in the cold drinks selection not much for diabetics. It was so good, we returned after dinner, and then again twice during our stay in Looe. The décor is beautiful, the owners are friendly, interesting and welcoming without encroaching on your evening. It was a fairly warm day for October and we were dressed appropriately so we sat outside and it was a great choice for us. Found by chance on Google so we drove over on a whim. We didn't have a booking but the lovely staff squeezed us in before the evening reservations. We've long been fans of Calamazag nursery near stunning Looe. As an award winning nursery (multiple gold medals from the Royal Horticultural Society) their plants are world class and highly recommended. The owners are often on hand to offer friendly common-sense advice and some amusing stories about the industry. Their passion is clear and their knowledge second to none. All with high quality, mainly local products while overlooking acres of unspoilt Cornish countryside towards Millendreath. The iced teas are great, as are the milkskakes, and the coffee is superb. Parking is easy and level, the nursery and cafe area are very well maintained. Did I mention the views? You can even eat in one of the poly-tunnels surrounded by foliage and flora which is a lovely idea. The whole place feels relaxed with no pressure to buy, but why wouldnt you sample some lovely local food and stock the garden with something while you're there? Highly recommended.
